TravelRe: Between Ibadan, Ago-iwoye And Abeokuta. by newacca: 3:03pm On Aug 13, 2016
montanaguy:
I am finding it difficult to choose between Ibadan and Abeokuta. I plan to relocate to either of the two. I need a city with affordable house rent, transportation and food. A city a family of 3 can manage 46k monthly pending when business and work comes by. I have been to Ibadan once. Don't know much about the city while I have never been to Abeokuta. I have been to Ago-Iwoye. Spent 3 months. Its cheap but I don't know if business will flourish there.
Ibadan is a bigger city when compared to Abeokuta; depending on the area you choose to live or establish your business, I'll consider Ibadan if you are looking at starting a business.

I'm from Abeokuta and I have attachment there. Abeokuta is peaceful and calm, but you will only flourish in business if you have a great business idea that is really difficult to be saturated. It's a civil servant state, but the security level is okay and living expenses is relatively low if compared to Ibadan.

And Andre said no DOV, no VISA. Those that submitted already, were you told anything like this? Were you told to bring your DOV on or before the date your VISA is to be ready?
Students who are going to private institutions, and will earn certificate which is not Italian don't need DOV. For instance; if their programmes of study are offered in English and they will eventually earn i.e European degree, they may not need DOV. But if they intend to take up employment in Italy after their studies, it may be needed for those those certificates they earn outside Italian education system.

The only available space I could get is 16 of September and my course start 17 of Oct. Hope it's not too late?
It takes 3 weeks for the consulate to process your visa application. I think you still stand a chance. However, if you are somewhere near Lagos, you may visit the Italian consulate in Lagos and ask some questions there.
I wish you the best.

Thanks brother, one last question, do I need to present my own statement of acct. Or that of my sponsor. And can I just work in to submit because I couldn't book any appointment on their site
If you are sponsored by someone else, you need a sponsor's account. If you are sponsoring yourself, you need your own statement of account.
You need to book appointment for study visa application. Keep trying, you may be lucky to book appointment for visa application. You may try booking during the off peak period. I mean around 10:30pm to 4:00 am.
I wish you the very best.

@ newacca. Thanks

The form I'm filling says "Application Form for National Visa (D)". I'm I on track cos I found two different forms. One in plain ENGLISh and the other in English/Italian
If it is the same form for long term visa, then go ahead and fill "NOT APPLICABLE" on the intended date of departure. Since you are applying for a long term visa.

Hello,

While filling the VISA form, the part that says "intended date of departure from the schengen area" should be filled as?

Reason I am not certain what to put is, my course is for 2 yrs and and according to the form, you cannot apply for more than 365 days, or can you?

So should the "date of intended departure" be the same as the date you booked you will return on your flight itinerary?
Write: NOT APPLICABLE.
If you are applying beyond 365days, your intended date of departure will not be necessary according to the information on the form itself. Read the form carefully, you will see it there.

I really feel it can work out if I submit all my documents this week, but what I want to ask is that, is it necessary to legalize and translate my document?
If your documents for visa application are ready, you can book appointment for visa application and apply! You are applying to go to a private institute which doesn't require you to pre-enrol. But if your plan is to get employment after your studies in Italy, then you have to do legalisation of documents. I think you can legalize your documents after your visa.

I didn't do any legalisation and I have already applied for my visa.
I wish you all the best.

Newacca baba I feel your analysis but don't get yourself confuse with what I posted I never said the bank will tell the embassy the exact amount in your bank But they will only give the embassy info that what you provided was true only if you don't touch the money, and about the guy that went last year, he made use of a company account and the owner of the company withdrew alot of money during the visa application period.... He was told why he was refuse.... So it's advisable not to even try company account but in a place where your SOA is much intact with good inflow and outflow transaction, embassy no go too worry, dem go pass u straight but once there is loop hole such as the owner of the SOA not bearing the same surname with yours dem go suspect now.... 6 people were arrested last year hope you know..... In all let just be prayerful.....
Bro, I'm not confused, I used a plural noun to point to other readers who may get confused with your post. Meanwhile, I still remain on my point that even if you withdraw huge amount in your account, no bank will tell them how much you have withdrawn.

This is it; the embassy will fax the copies (mostly first and last page) of the SOA to the bank to confirm the date, balance and other information, which must conform with the bank's copy. They won't ask for the balance outside the one printed. If the embassy needs to see new balance, it will contact the applicant for new SOA printout.

You can use company account, as long as the company account is genuine and the signatory(ies) to the account attest and sign for your sponsorship and there is sufficient fund to bear your study expenses.

If it is not a fake account, why would the visa applicant be arrested? Please don't misinform people. If your surname doesn't correlate with the sponsor's but the sponsor is genuinely sponsoring you and the documents come from him + the documents are genuine, why would the embassy suspect or get you arrested ? undecided

We need to be factual and diligent in giving out information here. A lot of people rely on threads like this to get things done. Please!

u have done your flight and hotel payments i guess?
My school reserved a room for me, which I will check out on arrival. If I like it I'll make full payment, if not I'll find another one.
Flight? I can book flight and make payment within a couple of minutes/hours. But for visa application purpose, a flight reservation was made.

Please house, I want to apply for a student visa to spain, I have all the necessary requirements and documents but I want to add a cover letter on why I choose the school and why I want to study the course and also what I intend to gain from the completion of the masters degree. Will that be necessaryhuh Because it seems the embassy does not even interview student visa applicants.
Please, go ahead and include it. It's a vital document since you don't stand the chance to be interviewed. The cover letter will say a lot about you and your intent. Good luck!
TravelRe: Italian Student Visa-help! by newacca:
Let us not confuse ourselves with personal thoughts, reasonings or third party information here and there. It's unprofessional, unethical and vandilization of privacy for any bank official/bank to give out your current account balance to third party. You may print out your statement of account and give it to third party (embassy in this context) and the embassy can confirm if it's genuine and verify if the balance as at the time you print the statement correlates with balance of the copy(ies) the bank is having.

The embassies have a way of finding out with the bank. Most times, they fax the copy to the bank and the bank also respond and confirm the genuiness of the statement or otherwise. The embassies will never ask for the current balance in your account(because they are aware of the banking ethics) Even if they do, no bank will divulge such sensitive information to third party(embassy).

Now to someone who says he knows someone who was refused and that Andrea (Who be Andrea sef? E be visa officer? grin) told him that his/er visa was refused because the sponsor withdrew the money in his account; please ask your guy very well. S/he might have being hiding some info from you. It's either the embassy requested for another recent statement of account and the sponsor has removed huge amount from the account; while the visa applicant presented the new bank statement with deficiet of huge amount on it or the application was refused based on the fact the there was insufficient fund in the account.

This issue of thought that embassies do request current account balance from bank has generated a whole lot of arguments and controversies on the Canada visa thread. In my own view, the worst scenario the embassy could make is to request for another recent bank statement of account, if the visa officer feels you padded the account just for visa application.

My advice: I will urge everyone to plead to your sponsors not to withdraw huge amounts of money within the window period of 3weeks that your app is still with the embassy ( I know it's really hard to do, but you just have to do it. You can explain to your sponsor by referring to the current debate here and letting him know that the embassy may request new statement of account before your visa is issued ) because the embassy may actually call for new bank account statement to clear the doubt of any insufficient fund in the account. Oh yeah! I have seen such situation in the past.

If you are a self-sponsor, same thing applies to you. Please hold on for huge withdrawals until you have response about your visa application from the embassy.

On a last note, no matter how many applicants apply to study in Italy, they aren't up to those applying to U.S, Canada,U.K. and Australia. Visa application decisions cannot be based on number of applicants but the convincing documents and application the visa applicant presented + a little bit of luck smiley (My thought though).

If you are about to apply, please take your time and compile your documents, then apply on time. If you have already applied, remain optimistic and hope for the best. If you have been refused before and trying to apply again, take your time to fill the loop holes that causes the first refusal and shoot again.

Keep calm & study in Italy. Ciao! wink cool

Sure. Firstly, your booking slip is collected and confirmed. You are told to go to one of the offices to register your name. Then, you are directed to Andre (the italian staff in charge of student visas). Andre asks for your invitation letter which in this case is the letter sent to you by the university you applied to, stating you have been admitted. Andre looks through his admission list to confirm this. If valid, he hands you a GTBank deposit slip from the Consulate (its a customised slip which you can't get in GTBank). The sum on the slip is N11,600. You go to any GTBank closes to you, which is at Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island. Walk to Bonny camp, there you will get a keke (for N50) going to GTBank, Adeola Odeku branch. Pay the sum and return to the embassy with the two deposit slips given to you (the pink and the blue slips). You are not to drop anyone in the bank. Take these slips to the italian embassy. Andre collects them and hands you the "pink" slip. He asks for all your documents and passport. I made two photocopies of all my documents. After going through them, he puts them in a file and writes on your booking slip, the file number and date you are to come and collect your visa. Finire! If you have anyother questions, please feel free to ask. Best of luck!

International programme is offered by institutions regulated by Italian education system, but the qualification is issued by European education body. Though this kind of Prog.are mostly offered by private institutions.
