montanaguy:Ibadan is a bigger city when compared to Abeokuta; depending on the area you choose to live or establish your business, I'll consider Ibadan if you are looking at starting a business. I'm from Abeokuta and I have attachment there. Abeokuta is peaceful and calm, but you will only flourish in business if you have a great business idea that is really difficult to be saturated. It's a civil servant state, but the security level is okay and living expenses is relatively low if compared to Ibadan. |
sourcecode001:Students who are going to private institutions, and will earn certificate which is not Italian don't need DOV. For instance; if their programmes of study are offered in English and they will eventually earn i.e European degree, they may not need DOV. But if they intend to take up employment in Italy after their studies, it may be needed for those those certificates they earn outside Italian education system. |
yomitekons:It takes 3 weeks for the consulate to process your visa application. I think you still stand a chance. However, if you are somewhere near Lagos, you may visit the Italian consulate in Lagos and ask some questions there. I wish you the best. |
yomitekons:If you are sponsored by someone else, you need a sponsor's account. If you are sponsoring yourself, you need your own statement of account. You need to book appointment for study visa application. Keep trying, you may be lucky to book appointment for visa application. You may try booking during the off peak period. I mean around 10:30pm to 4:00 am. I wish you the very best. Ciao! |
yomitekons:Aiico is one of the approved insurance companies. You can see the list on their website. |
lubarika:No. It was done around June. June ending, to be precise. |
lubarika:I reserved the flight through a travel agent who happens to be a pal. |
sourcecode001:If it is the same form for long term visa, then go ahead and fill "NOT APPLICABLE" on the intended date of departure. Since you are applying for a long term visa. |
sourcecode001:Write: NOT APPLICABLE. If you are applying beyond 365days, your intended date of departure will not be necessary according to the information on the form itself. Read the form carefully, you will see it there. |
yomitekons:If your documents for visa application are ready, you can book appointment for visa application and apply! You are applying to go to a private institute which doesn't require you to pre-enrol. But if your plan is to get employment after your studies in Italy, then you have to do legalisation of documents. I think you can legalize your documents after your visa. I didn't do any legalisation and I have already applied for my visa. I wish you all the best. Ciao! |
esiema1:Go to page 46 on this thread or see the link here : https://www.nairaland.com/969016/italian-student-visa-help/46#47014310 I got a shot of the display board at the embassy gate sometimes ago, which I posted in this thread. |
fOFT:Grazie! Thanks for the compliment. You are a leader. ![]()

icehood:Alles gute: All the best. |
icehood:It doesn't matter. Your thought may not be completely right.

icehood:Bro, I'm not confused, I used a plural noun to point to other readers who may get confused with your post. Meanwhile, I still remain on my point that even if you withdraw huge amount in your account, no bank will tell them how much you have withdrawn. This is it; the embassy will fax the copies (mostly first and last page) of the SOA to the bank to confirm the date, balance and other information, which must conform with the bank's copy. They won't ask for the balance outside the one printed. If the embassy needs to see new balance, it will contact the applicant for new SOA printout. You can use company account, as long as the company account is genuine and the signatory(ies) to the account attest and sign for your sponsorship and there is sufficient fund to bear your study expenses. If it is not a fake account, why would the visa applicant be arrested? Please don't misinform people. If your surname doesn't correlate with the sponsor's but the sponsor is genuinely sponsoring you and the documents come from him + the documents are genuine, why would the embassy suspect or get you arrested ? ![]() We need to be factual and diligent in giving out information here. A lot of people rely on threads like this to get things done. Please! |
smithsydny:My school reserved a room for me, which I will check out on arrival. If I like it I'll make full payment, if not I'll find another one. Flight? I can book flight and make payment within a couple of minutes/hours. But for visa application purpose, a flight reservation was made. |
zendman:Please, go ahead and include it. It's a vital document since you don't stand the chance to be interviewed. The cover letter will say a lot about you and your intent. Good luck! |
Let us not confuse ourselves with personal thoughts, reasonings or third party information here and there. It's unprofessional, unethical and vandilization of privacy for any bank official/bank to give out your current account balance to third party. You may print out your statement of account and give it to third party (embassy in this context) and the embassy can confirm if it's genuine and verify if the balance as at the time you print the statement correlates with balance of the copy(ies) the bank is having. The embassies have a way of finding out with the bank. Most times, they fax the copy to the bank and the bank also respond and confirm the genuiness of the statement or otherwise. The embassies will never ask for the current balance in your account(because they are aware of the banking ethics) Even if they do, no bank will divulge such sensitive information to third party(embassy). Now to someone who says he knows someone who was refused and that Andrea (Who be Andrea sef? E be visa officer? ) told him that his/er visa was refused because the sponsor withdrew the money in his account; please ask your guy very well. S/he might have being hiding some info from you. It's either the embassy requested for another recent statement of account and the sponsor has removed huge amount from the account; while the visa applicant presented the new bank statement with deficiet of huge amount on it or the application was refused based on the fact the there was insufficient fund in the account. This issue of thought that embassies do request current account balance from bank has generated a whole lot of arguments and controversies on the Canada visa thread. In my own view, the worst scenario the embassy could make is to request for another recent bank statement of account, if the visa officer feels you padded the account just for visa application. My advice: I will urge everyone to plead to your sponsors not to withdraw huge amounts of money within the window period of 3weeks that your app is still with the embassy ( I know it's really hard to do, but you just have to do it. You can explain to your sponsor by referring to the current debate here and letting him know that the embassy may request new statement of account before your visa is issued ) because the embassy may actually call for new bank account statement to clear the doubt of any insufficient fund in the account. Oh yeah! I have seen such situation in the past. If you are a self-sponsor, same thing applies to you. Please hold on for huge withdrawals until you have response about your visa application from the embassy. On a last note, no matter how many applicants apply to study in Italy, they aren't up to those applying to U.S, Canada,U.K. and Australia. Visa application decisions cannot be based on number of applicants but the convincing documents and application the visa applicant presented + a little bit of luck (My thought though). If you are about to apply, please take your time and compile your documents, then apply on time. If you have already applied, remain optimistic and hope for the best. If you have been refused before and trying to apply again, take your time to fill the loop holes that causes the first refusal and shoot again. Keep calm & study in Italy. Ciao! ![]() |
fine4dave:We applied on the same day then. I'm going for UnderG. I'll fly some days after the visa is approved ( God willing ) |
fine4dave:Have you applied for the visa? |
shaggyosas:Oh! Sorry. I wanted to quote Opaniyi12 |
shaggyosas:Are you the smart guy on Afro hair wearing moccasin shoe? I guess I saw you. A similar name was called. I was the guy who wore white stripe shirts, wearing a pair of blue jeans pant and Trekkers , carrying black messenger bag. ![]() |
OILJ:How far? Have you applied for your visa ? |
folak48:No offence taken and thanks so much for the compliment. I hope to do more. + You've got a new message on Whatsapp. |
folak48:I'm original and copy of myself alone oooo and not a version of anyone else ooo I'll try and send SMS to your number, I don't have subscription on the device at the moment. Baa wa! ![]() |
shaggyosas:Study visa application fee = 11,600 NGN MODIFIED POST. The Italian consulate are not diligent and accurate on sharing information with application. I got to the consulate yesterday, only to be told that I need to pay visa fee at the point of submitting my application How about someone who doesn't have such amount at the moment? |
folak48:I replied the first pm, and about to reply the second as well. Maybe your email is acting up. |
opaniyi12:I don't have any link ooo. I can only advise you to keep trying. |
opaniyi12:Bro, that process is really frustrating. Those guys at the consulate and those who manage their portal are not organized at alllll! ![]() Anyway, we just have to keep trying ooo. ![]() |

smithsydny:Bro, idiot is too heavy a word to use to qualify people in this context. I understand how annoying and frustrating things could be, but please hold your temper. International programme is offered by institutions regulated by Italian education system, but the qualification is issued by European education body. Though this kind of Prog.are mostly offered by private institutions. I have responded to my mail. |

Because it seems the embassy does not even interview student visa applicants.
