Nextjs: But we are ready to tax the hell out of Nigerians
We are ready to implement 20% tax on income. Ready for VAT of 7% on all consumables. Ready to categorised Nigerians into band A to C and increase the price of electricity.
We are ready to demolished makoko without any plan for resettlement of the displaced. How many country are transmitting election results, thus?
But aren't ready to do the right thing....which other African countries have already implemented
Real time transmission is necessary As this prevent tampering of result sheets during physical transport from polling units to collation centres where all d evil happens |

RemoteNaija: The academic route in Nigeria is gradually becoming a long road to nowhere. Instead of piling up PGDs and Masters that the Nigerian market doesn't respect or pay for, HND holders should focus on Professional Certifications or tech skills. A 6-month skill acquisition often pays better than a 2-year PGD these days. How can that takes the place of academic route? He's talking about jobs not money making (every one can be tech skills focused only) |

Politics › Re: What Six Geo-political Zones Contributed To The VAT Pool And Received In 2025 by NewHe: 6:08pm On Jan 31 |
givedemwotowoto: In the U.S. in general, Republican-controlled states tend to tax their residents lower income tax while Democrat-controlled states tend to tax their residents more.
SE contributes heavily through low unemployment from entrepreneurship, not by heavy consumption and big government spending. So why are they collecting more?
The economy of SE is dominated by traders, manufacturers, transporters, and small business owners who are producing, distributing and creating value
VAT is a consumption tax, not a productivity tax. Regions that contribute more through retail chains and government funded spending, will generate more VAT. Regions that focus on production and reinvestment will generate less VAT.
Low VAT is not evidence of low economic activity, it’s just evidence that the business activity is structured differently |
