So the eagle has landed.
Got to dallas today with lufthansa.
The flight was really good the service was top notch with lots to eat and drink. The flight from abuja was kinda empty though (I wonder why).

Straight to the matter.
As we landed in dallas I said a word of prayer stepped out and continued to call on God. I walked I did not feel I needed a wheelchair having sat on a plane for so long. It got to my turn and my conversation with d cbp guy went thus
Him: hi
Me: hello
Him: so where to and what brings you
Me:told him, to spend my maternity leave and give birth
Him: when last where you here, was it to give birth
Me: last year vacation
Him: have you made contact with a doctor
Me: yes and hands him burden of proof (notification of intent letter, hospital correspondence, doctors correspondence, maternity leave letter from my job) arranged in that order. It was intentional
He read them all then asked how much my care would cost and how much I had. I told him about 6k then I had 5002usd cos of exchange rate then my cards
He asked where I work, I told him. He stamped me in 6months. All this took like 3minutes. I was jumping for joy

To be continued........
Wow,congrats on your successful Poe.Did you mean 500 dollars or 5000?The rise in dollar rates is really giving one concern about changing money truly.Wish you all the best in all you have left to do.

I think people have become too lazy to search for information online and want to be spoonfed with every information. This forum should be used to answer new questions but instead we keep seeing same questions on every thread.Every question being asked now has been answered before if only you'd spend your data to look for it or just simply search on Google.I even doubt some people make research about info they get.Pls let's take our time to go through former threads and not make this place boring for others. Thanks

I want to go to OHIO, there a good and affordable hospital TRINITY MEDICAL CENTRE. The maternity contract sent to me was :There you go...guess you can modify it to suit your need.Hope it helps

Hello people! I'm back to share my little piece after the delivery of my baby at Northside hospital atlanta. Everything went smooth thankful to God. I was able to get the birth certificate with 5 days after which I made an appointment at the pAssport agency and guess what! We got the passport same day because the date I booked for my return to Nigeria was just a week from the day we had the appointment( planned on shifting the date depending on the number of days the passport will take). Requested the SSN at the time of filling the form for the bc and also got it in the mail about 5 working days after we collected the bc( it said on the form that it takes up to 5 weeks for it to be out), we also applied for a Nigerian passport at the consulate and got it in 3 days. All in all it took less than two weeks to get everything. Thanks be to Almighty God for it could be a totally different story. If anybody is considering atlanta and has questions, do send an email and I will try my best to response! P.s also got my zero balance from the hospital and even a refund of $255 from the hospital as my bill didn't reach the estimate they gave before I made the down payment which qualifies me for the discount they give to self pay patients.
Congrats on the birth of your baby.I'm atlanta bound and I'm considering using Northside also.Would send you a mail cos I have few questions to ask.Congrats once again.

First, bought my ticket via an online site - kayak.com, it took me to the Kim site and was even cheaper than wakanow. For hospital, I am going with Northside, it's the cheapest quote I got for self pay - about $3,550 if you pay within 30 days of delivery. As for doctor, I am using alliance obgyn and they doctors are great, but I am finding them a bit expensive, still going to discuss with them sha, methought I don't really think I should change at this stage in pregnancy 36 weeks now). Other good hospitals are the famous Gwinnett, Emory Midtown and Kennestone, sorry I don't have their prices.
i'm trying to send you an email but I can't seem to do that.Just followed you tho.Pls I would like to ask you other questions. Thanks a lot

Hello my fellow ACIW!

I have landed Atlanta to God be the glory and thanks to the tips from you all. I had favor all the way and just want to share my POE experience.

I had prepared for the "infamous Atlanta" POE with great fear and trepidation - trusting God for favor and making sure I was ready with all documents- but still fearing secondary investigatin etc, I arrived on Friday, looked at all the CBP officers, no black person, no Latino. Hmmm,.mi started praying again. Long story short, I was sent to one middle aged white guy and the dude was not smiling, he did not even look at my face at first:

CBP: Why are you here?
Me: Vacation and to have my baby.
CBP: How do you intend to pay for that?
Me: self pay, I have some cash (told him how much), my debit cards (brought out my printed bank statements)
CBP: what arrangements have you made so far?
Me:I have a doctor and contacted the hospital as well.
CBP: have you paid for any of this yet?
Me: not yet, but that's because the doctors office said I will make the payments at my first visit (brought out my hospital correspondence).
CBP: so do you have any family or friends in Atlanta and where will you be staying?
Me: with my husbands Uncle and Aunt.
CBP: so what will you be doing while you are here?
Me: (in my mind - Oga, did you not hear me the first time?) I plan to have my baby while I am here. He nodded, so I quickly addedsight seeing, shopping, resting. He waited, I was blank oh! Then:
CBP: ok, that's it, you can go.

About 5 minutes all in all, and each time I brought out a document, he did not even bother to look at it, I guess he thought I was well prepared so...Atl the dreaded has been conquered!

One tip I think was important, I did not carry any food or anything to declare...I just felt there is no need to give them reason to call me to inner room, let our handshake no reach elbow, lol! There is lots of Nigerian food here if you have a craving, for gifts, I brought fabric instead. Depends on you though, o just remembered that my last journey BWI (Baltimore), it was after I passed the first guy that they started asks me questions, so no need.

Thanks for the tips and all guys.
Congratulations on your successful entry.Pls I'm a July mum to be and I'm looking at coming to Atlanta.Still don't have a doctor or hospital in mind.Pls can you help with that? Then I'd like to know if you bought your ticket via online agent or from KLM directly.Pls ma'am I'm really banking on this information.Thank you so much.

Hi All,

I have been following this thread quietly for a while now because i desire that my wife delivers our baby in the US. I am presently considering Atlanta for logistic reasons but also considering cost. It appears a couple of people are heading towards phoenix.

Can someone please spell out the likely cost implications of having a baby (VAGINAL AND CAESAREAN PLEASE) in phoenix from registration to delivery.

Good Afternoon Guys,I'm quiet new on this site but I can say I've learnt quite a lot in the few hours I've been reading.I just have few questions and would be glad if anyone can help.My husband and I just got the B1/B12 visa and during the interview,I was asked if i was pregnant which I said Yes,Then she further asked if I'd like to give birth in the U.S and I said no,I probably should have told her the truth but I was scared it would contradict the 3 weeks we said we would be staying for.She gave me a letter that if I intend to change my mind I could go with the documemts. My husband intends to write them that I'd like to give birth in the U.S so they would update my visa...I'm just worried if that won't affect me at the POE.I'm due in July and I intent to leave in May.would be staying in Atlanta and I don't have any doctor or hospital in mind. Can anyone Pls help with any useful advice.Thank you very much.
pls Help ooo....any July mum here and anyone knows any hospital in ATL
