ORS is administered to replace lost electrolyte.If your baby is stooling a lot, you might want to keep trying.You can ask your paediatrician if salt and water solution would do the same work.

If the baby overdoses or goes into some drug related crisis, the owner of the creche will show up with a pastor to tell you "it is God's will, don't prosecute". Can we perhaps do something? Do you have mummies you trust from this forum who stay around your area? For a small fee, can they watch our babies? For example, Babythug may live in ikeja and there's a mum here she relates to well and based on what she's seen and read, she can trust that if issues come up, she will call babythug immediately. The babysitting mum won't take more than 3 kids so she's not overwhelmed and can give them the most attention. I dunno if it will help...

Exactly!!! Same thing ive bee telling my husband. I will not leave my baby with anyone I dont really trust until he is able to talk.My husband says I'm obsessed with him and I tell him thank you.I just cant imagine this happening to my baby, ill make sure that crèche remains closed forever.

What are your meal times like? Do you time the meals? You should follow a sequence-three or four hourly for his meal.times. The foods mentioned are nutritious I'm guessing you are concerned about expanding the menu! Some children accept adult foods somewhat late but you just have to keep trying and ensure he's hungry before you offer it. See if someone else can feed him baby may accept it. Does he accept other cereals -cerelac, pap etc? Have you tried indomie with little or no spice? Keep trying and offer from your plate too when eating you may catch his attention.

He eats the bottled food well, infact he finishes a whole jar abd cries for more. YES, my main concern is expanding his menu.Gave him indomie, he enjoyed it for 2 days and now he turns it down same with cerealc, frisogold rice and his heinz cereal.i guess ill just keep trying then.Thanks maam

Awwnn.....dont worry, it will get better.You can try pureed fruits, egg yolk, mashed sweet potatoes tho my baby took just bits of all these.Hes the king of heinz egg custard and rice pudding.

She's 1 year now. At 8 months, i was giving pap. I started birds custard at 9 months when she got tired of pap but noticed dd wasnt enjoying birds custard so i got hollandia vanilla custard, that's what we're still using though i swap the flavours (vanilla, banana, strawberry).
Some people don't recommend custard that early with the reason that there's colouring in it. But, i have friends who started it at 6 months and i'm yet to see any harm.

Please while buying baby food in cartons, it's of utmost importance to be mindful of expiry date. Also, a baby can get tired very often with a particular food. My solution to that was; since i can afford a carton of cereal at once, why not i spread that money into varieties of cereals then after each trial (3 days maximum) with a successful acceptance and tolerance - then i add that to my dd list of food. Thereafter, i schedule her meals to creche e.g Monday: Vanilla custard, frisogold rice and cerelac 3 cereals. Tues: Strawberry custard, Gerber rice and nutriben 8 cereals and 4 fruits. Wed: Banana custard, Gerber oatmeal, cerelac rice and Gerber yogurt. And it continues like this, my baby doesnt eat same food in 3 days. Please note that before i started this, i had a very serious challenge with her feeding - i used to force her to take just 2 scoops of cereal and she'd refuse. Infact, meal time in the house was messy. But, immediately i introduced this method - which a dear boss in my office gave me - things changed. Now, she can take as much as 8-10 scoops of cereal with no stress.

This is not gerber yogurt. Its gerber fruit puree.

Gerber yogurt has 4 different fruit flavours and one for sitter and the other blend for toddlers.

its 4 in a pack and its sold for 1,300 though i've seen it at 1500 in some shops.
I stopped buying it in February when i noticed all the gerber yoghurt blend snacks in shops will expire in March.
I'm yet to see one with an extended date, so please be mindful of that when buying.

Oh yes you're right.I actually thought it was yogurt cos it has a sour taste to it.Thanks for the correction.The ones I buy has expiry date of July and October 2016.

If your baby can finish it at once that's ok but mine does not so I keep what's left in the freezer for the following day.Can only use it 24 hrs after opening sha(it's written in the pack)

You need to be very patient with her.My son is almost 8 months and he's just starting to take Cerelac and Gerber yoghurt well(not too much tho).Just be persistent,don't try to give her too much at a time.If you're making cereal for her don't make it too thick,let it be a little runny.She would fight with you o but even if it's 2 spoons she's taking at a time just keep at it and be patient with her.All the best.

he only sleeps for 3hrs max during d day. and wont sleep until 9pm. The remaining part of the day is for playing. he gets bored easily.. he enjoys going out nd playing with other children.. but I dnt have frnds around. .

This is a decision you have to take but personally I wouldn't recommend processed drinks for now (and avoid as much as possible). It's full of processed sugars that don't absorb so well and why not try natural sugars? I don't know many doctors or nurses who would give a 6 month old Ribena. Why not try a sweet fruit and mix with water? Oranges right now are not sweet (not their season) but there's something your child likes (watermelon, pineapple, Apple, carrot), you just have to find it. That's just my opinion though.

Good eating habits are hard to establish and all these processed stuff are convenient but come at a price. And we don't fully understand it yet but the people who invented most of them are now endorsing a more organic lifestyle. Food for thought.

Yes include Ribena but just a 'dash' to avoid funny poo. That is about a cap full (using the cover of the Ribena bottle)mixed with about 120-125ml of water.
