Sorry if my explanation will not be that clear, may be others will come in. Imagine you are standing in front of the dish. Look at it as if it's a clock. In your head put the hour numbers on the dish, 1, 2, 3 up to 12 the way they are arranged on a watch with hour hands. Now take it that when you point at 1 you are at 1 oclock, at 2 you are at 2 oclock, at 3 its 3 oclock up to 12. So, if the lnb knob is directly downwards you would say its at 6 oclock. If it is exactly up or there about you would say its 12 oclock and so on and so forth. I hope you get my 'difficult to comprehend' explanation.

Mine is at 4 or 5 oclock if you are in front of the dish. Try that or if it fails try 7 or 8 oclock. The other positions were giving me a low signal for Muvi.

you forgot to tell the house how the tripod configuration given to you worked , the house needs to know so that one or two people could have a grab of something too.

I was the one who said that and for your information and everyone else's,you cannot record the .ts file that way(through a cd/dvd burner connected to your receiver).All you'll get is a blank or at least a 30sec recording of a video showing scrambled channel(which is not the actual data).What is required is a video file(with the scrambled channel indication) coming out of the processing circuit of your stb or dvbs tuner for PC's in the .ts format.That is what you can work with.For the rest,just read around for yourself.You might get much info than what i got.
*Our people are so interested in being spoon fed that they don't want to develop.Can you imagine ever since the time i posted that post,i haven't even gotten a single file to work with.What kind of people are we?Must we always wait for someone to do it so we can go and buy?These are just but a few questions i ask myself everyday*
FYI-If you have an old D+gle,try to take it apart and study the circuitry to see if any resistors can be bridged or removed to make or prevent it from ever expiring again.That is how we should all start thinking now and let's see if in just 5yrs we wont change the face of FTA in Africa.

This house has been On holiday for almost a week or so now, let us see what we can do with metallic satellite dish fabrication, using square pipes and steel sheets , this material is known to factually everybody, no actual mould construction needed. ANYDODY ?

from my analysis of your tripod combination with the threaded bolt, it should work fine, to achieve the 167 real tripod length, adjust ,through the threading down below the welding zone say, a distance of 8cm. i.e your tripod pipe length+ a value on the threading that makes it = 167cm
you can just work this out. say, pipe + adjusted thread = 167cm
i hope i make any sense.
as for your east-west rod, that is secondary , it is strongly the unction of your neck and your actuator holder on your dish.
i hope your u-mount [neck] is firm and the holes drilled on them are to precision.

I can't answer the other questions for you but all i do know is any hole for mounting a big dish(specifically between 1.8m and 3.1m solid or mesh) should be 2ft to 3ft deep so that the weight or strong winds don't cause them to fall and get damaged.
