thanks everyone..your words of advice are invaluable indeed..

i really hate to sound like a strict parent but i believe one should not train his kids with so much affluence...i took out time to think last night and am already getting scared for my boy....he is the first grandchild of my in-laws and i shudder at the level of love and affection they will shower on my boy...do not get me wrong..i love him alot..i really do..but i believe that depriving him of some luxuries in life will help shape him into a better man...a man that will believe in hardwork and patience...i do not want to raise a mummy's boy..nah..i want to raise a man in every definition of it,

what will a child be doing with a 300dollar shoe? or a hoodie of 80dollars? i just tire..during my days in UBA,contract staff earn btwn35-45k a month...and these guys work their arse off..and still manage to save some money..its only few people that will understand my worry..its not about the money..its about the child...i have seen children from rich homes that could not stand on their own once daddy's money finishes...i remember the lecture tony elumelu gave us during our induction in UBA..he talked about his childhood and how it contributed in shaping him into the man that he is now.

i really want to raise a real man...i will definitely be coming here for tips and advice.thanks once more

its not really ma money....like 90% is hers...even at that i do not think its right to spend such amount on a baby..comón thats somebody's annual salary..its not just right..btwn you need to see the contents of a pot of soup ma wife makes..you go just weak...life is not easy but she does not care..

maclatunji: OP, is it her money or yours she is spending? If it yours, then limit the amounts you let her have access to. If it hers, advise her to go easy on the wasteful spending and invest her money in profitable ventures. You have every right to be angry but explain it to her gently without losing your seriousness in passing the point across.

You need to watch your wife lest she ruins your finances.

Am so angry and disturbed...we welcomed a bouncing baby boy last month...i could not travel to be by my wife's side because of some unforeseen issues..so i held fort here in nigeria...my wife decided to send the excess luggage's in bits and i went to pick some of them yesterday..

i picked a total of 6 big suitcases yesterday..on getting home..i decided to open the suitcases and to my chagrin i saw 2 big suitcases filled with just baby footwear...foot wears with price tags ranging from 70dollars to 300dollars..infact the total money she spent on clothes, toys and shoes she bought for the baby is in the range of 1-2m..i was livid with anger..how can someone spend that kind of money on a baby?? shoes that the child will outgrow in a few years time...the first time i wore a 15k shoe was during my NYSC...i am just maad that my wife is not frugal with money..things are not as rosy as it seems..i called her to complain and all she could say was that she is spending the money on her son...it is even heartbreaking that she sees nothing wrong in spending such moni on a baby..

i honestly do not want to bring up my child in such manner...a child needs to know that things are hard..and am just patiently waiting for her to come back..this nonsense just have to stop.

Family / Letter To My Dad (1949-2006) by nexeee: 12:20pm On Apr 26, 2012
Goodmorning Dad...

PeeAPeeeA(like we all call you)How are you doing...today marks exactly 6years that you left us in this world...its a pity you left the way you did...we have all dusted ourselves and moved on but the memories remain...especially watching you slip into death..Things have really turned out well for us all..Mom has retired and is now doing well in her supermarket business...that little provision shop she opened back then in 2004 has evolved into a mega store patronized by a whole lot of people, she has also undergone a very successful eye operation and her health is now very sound..

Ifeoma completed her masters program and is now with a mega paying oil firm..she is doing very well with her husband and they have 3 sons..the eldest is 4.5years..the husband has also secured a good job with a telecommunication company here in nigeria...they are all doing well to the glory of God.

Chidimma is with zenithbank..she..got married last 2years..she married a nice guy from oraukwu..the guy is a naval officer based in ph..they currently have a son they named after you..we all call him junior..lol

Iam now a qualified engineer..i also got married to ifu..yes the same ifu that you know..we are expecting our first child..she has been a wonderful wife and daughter inlaw.things are great for us all dad.

Kene is currently in his final year at Unizik..he is studying biochemistry..he is the one helping mum out in the store.

we reminisce on the past and wish you were here...you really sacrificed alot for us your family..i remember how you will wear torn clothes,do kabukabu business,mc at occasion etc just to make sure we never lacked.its really a pity that you are not here to reap the fruits of your labour...i cry and lament everyday..there are some times i wish you were here to guide and mentor me...so many of your relatives and friends betrayed you..even your brother uncle francis, he disposed the land at okpuno and took the money...but we thank God for His mercies...we later bought another land at esther obiako estate and collectively built a modest house for mum...just that she hardly stays there as she is always in lagos..lol

We all miss you..the memories will always linger..sometimes i ask God why will someone suffer so much and not get a chance to reap the fruits of his labor..but am comforted with the fact that you lived a good life..and regardless of your financial standing ..you still trained your kids and 4 other relatives...am proud of you dad..and come saturday 05-05-2012..we will all roll out the drums and celebrate a man that lived for his people..God bless you and may you continue to rest in peace...Amen smiley smiley smiley

Politics / Re: Gov.t.a Orji Warns Against Delay In Council Workers’ Salaries by nexeee: 7:02am On Mar 27, 2012
Sobo4u: Tanx for your contribution, Billygene. Gov. T.A Orji is a GENERATIONAL LEADER raised by God to do a unique work of LIBERATION, REBIRTH AND ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT OF OUR DEAR STATE OF ABIA. When all efforts to extricate Abia from the stranglehold of Orji Uzor Kalu failed, God positioned OCHENDO to be our Champion and with Courage and Compassion he delivered Political, Social, Economic and Spiritual LIBERTY to the once enslaved state. Today, T.A Orji is the Father and Founder of the NEW ABIA. He is taking NECESSARY BUT SOMETIMES PAINFUL DECISIONS IN THE GREATER INTEREST OF ABIANS AND THE REAL ABIANS ARE VERY HAPPY AND SATISFIED WITH HIS EFFORTS.Before the advent of T.A Orji's government, LGAs in Abia were owing workers up to thirteen months salary arrears. Aba North closed shop at a time and Council Chairmen were borrowing billions from banks, making returns to Orji Kalu's mother and siblings while the state groaned in debt. When T.A Orji came, he promptly paid ALL the outstanding salaries, promoted ALL civil servants to the next grade level, restored normalcy and motivation and accountability. AS YOU KNOW, T.A Orji is the first Governor in the South East that paid not just the minimum wage but a lot more. Abia workers have NEVER COMPLAINED nor gone on strike because of the very UNDERSTANDING NATURE AND TOTAL ENCOURAGEMENT they receive from T.A Orji. So, YOU CANNOT CRY MORE THAN THE BEREAVED !!! What we are talking about here is that GOVERNMENT HAS RELEASED SALARIES AS AT WHEN DUE BUT BUREAUCRATS AT THE LGAs delayed the processes AND THE GOVERNOR INTERVENED ON BEHALF OF THE WORKERS. Is that a crime? You must distinguish between your primitive hatred of the person of the governor and informed analysis of policy matters.WHERE WERE YOU AT THE TIME ORJI UZOR KALU HELD ABIA HOSTAGE-BUILDING BANKS IN GAMBIA, SUN NEWSPAPER IN LAGOS, SLOK AIRLINES, SHIPS, PRESIDENTIAL CONTEST, VILLA MANSION, NEYA COURT, POTOMARC MANSION AND SIPHONED ABIA MONEY THROUGH COUNTLESS NUMBER OF CONDUITS? WHAT DID YOU DO ? WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME AND FROM WHICH LOCAL GOVERNMENT ARE YOU ? It is anonymous people like you that are destroying this nation. YOU ARE JUST A PETTY, BITTER AND DISGRUNTLED ELEMENT.Have you not asked yourself why despite all the hate campaign against T.A Orji in the media, the man still WON OVERWHELMINGLY IN THE LAST ELECTION? TODAY, PEOPLE LIKE ONYEMA UGOCHUKWU, ENYINNAYA ABARIBE, VIN OGBULAFOR, IKE NWACHUKWU, OJO MADUEKWE, ADOLPHUS NWAGBARA, TONY UKASANYA, DAN NWANKWO, CHUKWU NWACHUKWU, MAO OHUABUNWA, UCHE CHUKWUMERIJE, NKECHI NWOGU,ACHO NWAKANMA, EMMA NWAKA,SUNNY AKU, CHRIS ENWEREMADU, CHRIS NKWONTA, VICTORIA AKANWA, LADY AGUIYI IRONSI, EMEKA WOGU, ACHO OBIOMA, AUSTIN AKOBUNDU, HENRY IKOH AND INDEED ANYBODY THAT IS ANYBODY IN ABIA STATE IS STANDING SOLIDLY BEHIND T.A ORJI!! YOU CANNOT BE MORE CATHOLIC THAN THE POPE. You can only fiddle your frustrated phone in anguish while T.A Orji dutifully carries out his onerous task of laying a solid foundation for Abia posterity. ALREADY, HE HAS RESTORED OUR POLITICAL LIBERTY, HARMONY AND SECURITY. HE IS NOW PAINSTAKINGLY TACKLING THE CHALLENGE OF INFRASTRUCTURE. HE WILL CONTINUE TO RISE WHILE YOU WHINE AWAY. Such is life and there is nothing your unbridled envy can do to affect him. ABIANS DO NOT OWE YOU OR ANY OF THE FEW DISGRUNTLED IMO AND ANAMBRA PEOPLE LIVING IN ABA ANY APOLOGY FOR RECLAIMING OUR DESTINY.WE TOOK A RECIPROCAL DECISION TO SEND HOME THEIR WORKERS MORE THAN TEN YEARS AFTER THEY SENT OUR CITIZENS PACKING. THAT'S WHAT NIGERIA RECENTLY DID TO SOUTH AFRICANS WHEN THEY GOT FUNNY. IT IS STANDARD PRACTICE AND T.A ORJI IS A GREAT ABIA PATRIOT FOR DOING THAT JUSTICE TO OUR CITIZEN. AFTER ALL, THEY WERE THE PEOPLE ORJI KALU USED FOR TEN YEARS AS COLONIAL WARRANT CHIEFS TO SUBJUGATE OUR PEOPLE. THEY CAN SCREAM AND SHOUT AT THE STADIUM BUT TRUE ABIANS REMAIN HAPPY WITH WHAT T.A ORJI IS DOING ON THEIR BEHALF. ON ELECTION DAY, THEY WILL STILL MIGRATE BACK TO THEIR STATES WHILE WE STAY HERE TO DETERMINE OUR FUTURE. So shut up your mouth and mind your own business. BILLY IS THE NAME OF A HUNGRY, ANGRY DOG FEEDING ON LOCAL SHIT IN THE SLUMS OF AJEGUNLE- grin BY THEIR NAME YOU SHALL KNOW THEM- SEE YOUR STUPID LIFE ! - EZECHIKAMNAYO, UMUAHIA, ABIA STATE.

i understand my wife so much..we dated for 4years b4 tying the knots unless she changes tomorrow (which i doubt)my wife works with her dad but she is very willing to resign immediately i take the job offer.

i intend to meet my FIL by weekend to tell him my decision.i have evaded this issue for months now and i think its better i tell him what i feel.am just concerned as regards my relationship with my inlaws...they really count on me..rejecting this offer will really weigh them down as they might read meaning into it.

i really need God's grace to treat this issue.

Family / Is It Right To Work For One's Father -inlaw/wife's Family?? by nexeee: 9:02am On Mar 13, 2012
Please i need matured and sincere advice from the house.

I got married barely 5months ago to the most sweetest girl on earth..but am under immense pressure from her dad.He wants me to resign from my job and come work with him.He runs a massive haulage and transportation firm and has promised to make me a partner in the business.

I currently work in a bank and earn a moderate pay that is enough for me and my wife.the snag is that i work very late most times.i love my wife and her family but i think its not right working for my father-inlaw...my wife thinks otherwise..she is of the opinion that her only brother is just 14years and somebody needs to know the business very well as her dad doesn't want to leave it in the hands of strangers, moreover she thinks the company will gain alot from my experience.most of my friends think i should gladly take the offer as i will have enough time and make more money.

i really need your take on this...is it right for one to work for one's father-inlaw..or better put wife's family?? cool cool
