But people join the Nigerian army. To me that's more useless than joining the french foreign legion. What do you get as a member of the Nigerian army especially if you aren't a northerner, nothing. I rather join the french foreign legion than join the Nigerian army. I have a friend from Burkina Faso who went that route and is now a student at ecole politechnique in France( one of the best engineering universities in the world and a grande ecoles)
Well different people with different things they need. Do you know that joining FFL is giving up your life for as long your contract exists? I mean giving up your marriage not able to own good things in life not even valued at al. And do you know that joining FFL doesn't mean automatic French citizenship? I will rather join the Nigerian military where my certificates determines my rank and have whatever I so desire than giving up my life. FFL has no good thing to offer to people that are ambitious I will continue saying it. To even get the French citizenship that's like hard labor for 5years + what if one dies along the line? You die for a country that won't even remember you existed. God forbid

It's 100 times better than joining the Nigerian army or serving Nigeria.
For someone that has given up on life yes. For someone that is ambitious no.

Claremont, the FFL is mostly for the people that have given up on life and ready to die for France. I like to call them a death squard of criminals. Why on earth should a Nigerian go down this route, especially someone with a Schengen visa? Besides, the guy that mentioned France was not talking about FFL, he simply believes that France is better than every other place in Western Europe. Well, with due respect, that is simply not the case.
My brother God will bless you immersely. The day I made extensive research about it like what's the benefit of joining FFL guess what I got. NOTHING. The only guy that was talking about benefits on YouTube was saying ehn you will get very expensive boots expensive bags I was like shuu. To suffer in Nigeria is better than that crap. But still people enlist for it

The only legal route for a schengen visa holder is to go to France to apply to join the French foreign legion. Anyone can apply to join, but the FFL have the prerogative in deciding who they will take. If you are lucky to be among those chosen, you will sign a 5-year contract, be paid well, and be a french citizen after 5 years of serving. The FFL is a well-respected armed fighting force, and you might even be lucky to be deployed to Africa for the bulk of your career.http://en.legion-recrute.com/

The alternative is to live illegally in Europe constantly looking over your back. However, there is a friend of mine who went to Germany a few years ago on a schengen visa, he claimed asylum and was refused, but he was lucky to meet a German lady. They got married and he has 2 kids with her already. He has just recently acquired German citizenship and he is building a duplex somewhere in eastern Nigeria. He was just lucky, there are droves of people still living illegally in Europe for years.
Bros FFL? That modern day slavery. And there's no guarantee for citizenship after 5years oh. Because I mad adequate research about it and got that. Between that your friend that renewed his contact his he a French citizen now?
Just asking please don't be in anyway offended sir

You are wrong. Certificate alone is not enough for either doing masters or applying for FSW because for masters he needs millions of naira and for FSW he needs work experience in that field.
I didn't talk about the cost implications and yes that's why I mentioned that if his work experience during NYSC is related to his field it can come in as work experience for a year. Even Engineers with no work experience migrate to Australia because their SIWES is being counted when they are describing their career episode. But all in all it boils down to money.

How is that sufficient enough to migrate USA, Canada and Australia?
There are options of applying for masters as the op rightly said... He can apply for FSW scheme in Canada if His NYSC PPA is on the list of required occupation in Canada or Australia. And his B.Sc is even in the field of IT. Boss am I right or wrong?

So a Bsc Certification is a guarantee of a migrant visa? You keep sounding pathetic in a bid to justify your unsound logic.I also note you are not verse in comprehension,if you have taken note of the guy's answers you could have known that a Bsc Certification is not sufficient for his choice of countries (US,Canada and Australia) but since you have chose to wallow in ignorance I leave you to your Predetermined position...QED
Dude you're so naive. So B.Sc certification is not sufficient for migrating to USA, Canada and Australia.... Please what is needed then?

In view of his foregoing conditions where and how does he qualify for a migrants visa? some of you don't even know jack about the topic but come here to claim expertise, rather than learn from people who have asked a valid question and proffered a sensible answer you still display your ignorance stupidly,as if that is not enough you brought ur uncultured and illmanner to the fore.
Well no need to trade words with you. It's a faceless forum and getting on the Internet is very cheap nowadays so every tom, dick and harry will always want to proove their worth. If actually you're knowledgeable enough you would know that he's B.sc certificate qualifies to apply as a skilled worker in certain countries. But due to the fact that you're naive and full of negativity that's why you wished the op bad and all you could think of was getting a visit visa with the hope of staying behind with it. Get a life dude. Shalom

I was reading through the old thread and came across this message by Eke40seven on Nov 18 2014 and it hurts to still realize that the trend is still the same till now.

Eke40seven :
Your question brings us back to what we are really missing on this thread...I don't know if am gonna step on toes, but the feedback available after getting visa is really poor. People just tend to gain from something and NEVER give back.
Back to you Brother without elaborating much because of some confidential details...one thing about the southern States like Munich is that they are quite expensive in terms of accommodation and cost of living but there is more than enough job to go round...the Bavarian accent too is something else but there are quite a number of English speakers...If you want a metropolitan life Munich in the south will give it to you..there are other smaller (relative) southern cities which are less expensive but still good. e.g Nuremberg, Fürth, Ingolstadt, Augsburg, Würzburg, all in Bavaria and Stuttgart, Reutlingen, Heilbronn in Baden Württemberg. Hamburg in the north is not as rich as the south, but its a great metropolis one can survive in although relatively colder but with a clearer accent.
The thing you should consider as a new migrant I think is to know where you know someone so that you can settle better and more easily then may be move on when you have found your bearing.
PM ogbeche77 , he schools in Munich and should be able to give you a more detailed description. While you are at it, you can register with toytown-germany and look up similar questions or ask about your city of interest if the people there can help with information (note that people there are not the street hustling type and their view may be 'buttered' kind of)
My 2 cowries!
*****************************************************
I want to make some truthful comments, in respect to people who had crossed over excluding those who are just settling and finding their bearing. Most have really gained from the combined wisdom of this thread, travel dreams and aspirations which have been nurtured right to the extent of leaving the shores of the nation but after that people tend to just easily forget the thread and never come to add from their experiences after gaining from others... which is rather exploitative and selfish or will I say snobbish..There was a thread on german student's survival, none hardly visit but look at the UK's equivalent, very very vibrant and great ideas are shared.
How I just wish I had my visa already I could have revived it or at least carry on from where they stopped. I understand that study could be intense and hustle demanding, but if all that were on this thread and left successfully for Germany spends just 10 minutes a week to post something, this thread would be the best by far.
I hail those ogas who visit from time to time though.
I hail some selfless dudes like Naijaobi (who has been present from page 2or 3) Beebee5000, Kelly4top, junipro and some others who show up from time to time.
Just saying something as short and meaningless as "Rostock is quite a cold and interesting place" can inspire someone out there as someone also inspired you when you didn't even know what a certified copy is.
This thread was inspired by suxes2005 by just mere observation that getting german visa was relatively easy and that simple post have helped so many either directly or indirectly.
Well, ama introduce the 'Eke40seven meets.... on german JJC moments', a sorta interview for new comers to Germany.
..........coming soon

Above 2.5 German CGPA means you are not within the minimum CGPA. The higher the figure, the less of your chances most importantly when the course is restricted. To those with lower CGPA, always apply to Bsc courses as plan B. You can transfer your credits when you enter and graduate by taking lesser courses which will even give you enough time and space to do other thing like learning the language and so on. Also, Having another Bsc certificate which is from Germany and later Msc will go a long way in the future endeavour provided you are not in a hurry to finish and come back to Nigeria. It will atleast thn waiting and waiting or pick a course that is titally different from your interest. Shalom
Don't mind me bro I no sabi how to express myself ni... Lol.... I meant I had better than the 2.5...very close to 2.0. But I think there was NC for the course maybe that explains it. And I understand everything you said thanks.
