Politics / Re: Nigerian Troops Killed About 200 Boko Haram Militants At Michika by neyop85(m): 7:57pm On Oct 06, 2014 |
RapLawd: OCTOBER 6, 2014 BY ETEOBONG EKONG, YOLA
There are strong indications that the Nigerian troops have overrun Michika and Gulak in Madagali Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.
The states had in the past one month been in the hands of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.
A source while speaking to our correspondent on phone said following the fierce fighting, the military are at the moment comfortably controlling Michika, which the insurgents seized on September 7, 2014.
The source said, “I can confirm to you authoritatively that the military are advancing towards Madagali.”
The source who spoke from his mountainous hideout in Michika, noted that despite the military bombardment, the insurgents on Sunday night re-grouped at the Government Technical College, Michika with the intention of attacking the soldiers before they were dislodged and chased away.
Reports indicate that about 200 Boko Haram insurgents have been killed in the latest offensive, as Nigerian troops take control of the town and have gained an upper hand in the ongoing war.
The source said, “The Nigerian troops have gained entry into Michika and Gulak, and are now fully in control of the towns having dealt a severe blow to the insurgents, as they lost about 200 members, while some escaped with injuries sustained from gun shots.”
Another source from the area said Nigerian troops had earlier met with a stiff resistance from the insurgents as they advanced towards Gulak leading to the prolonged gun duel.
The source added that: “There is a heavy fighting between the insurgents and Nigerian troops as the insurgents are doing everything to frustrate the effort of the Nigerian troops and many people who were trapped in the towns are now sneaking out following intensified fighting.”
He added that the insurgents who were in their thousands came through Uba and attacked the Nigeria troops who had already advanced into Michika, but were repelled back immediately.
Efforts to get the reaction from the Army Public Relations Officer of the 23rd Army Brigade Yola proved abortive as his telephone was not reachable while the police authority refused comment saying it is not within their area of jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State Acting Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commended the efforts of Nigerian soldiers to liberate the two local government areas initially under the grip of the militants.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Was Jonathan's Re-election Plan All Along by neyop85(m): 10:03pm On Sep 27, 2014 |
dlex21: Found this piece interesting and I decided to share... Enjoy!!
Rather than leap for joy at the declaration that Abubakar Shekau, leader of the dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram is dead, Nigerians are flabbergasted and taken aback by how suddenly the military and other security operatives seems to be getting everything right. Like a scene from the '24' series, the good guys are closing-in on the bad guys and the world is saved from a global disaster but only that the Boko Haram saga was a plot all along. tell me something i don't know? It looks like a script that was written to help President Goodluck Jonathan get reelection into office. You ask why? Boko Haram insurgents are the only terrorists in the world that would surrender on a daily basis to a once-weakened, ill-equipped, poorly funded military when the country is only months away from election.
Globally terrorists groups like al-Qaeda, Shebab or Islamic State do not sheath their sword because election is around the corner neither do they surrender on a daily basis.
Don’t get me wrong, we all want terrorism to cease in Nigeria but the writing on the wall shows that we probably had an artificial terrorist group in place and reports linking friends of the president to the funding of Boko Haram confirms this. They sacrificed thousands of our fathers, mothers , brothers, sisters for what? Re-election? Sure looks like it.
If that is not true, why is Modu Sheriff eating, drinking and charting the future of Nigeria in Chad with President Jonathan? The former Borno state governor’s affiliation and association with the dreaded terrorists is quite pronounced and very glaring, yet the government sees no reason why he should be prosecuted.
Azubuike Ihejerika’s role as the conduit pipe for siphoning funds and arms to the sect has also been reported. Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis, is the latest person to link the former army chief to terrorist funding. However, the spokesperson of the DSS, Marilyn Ogar says it would be ‘wicked’ of anyone to link him to terrorism. What kind of government is this?
Jonathan cannot deny his own role in the activities of Boko Haram because his friends, with whom he shares a common interest, fund them. That aside, over three months ago, shortly after the Chibok Girls were abducted Jonathan had a meeting with Nigerian editors and when asked about the girls, he dismissed the question with no remorse on his face. He said they would be found in words but his actions clearly said otherwise.
Now, our military. How do we explain the new-found vigour and intelligence of our military, if it is not one on a script because this is the same military that has loaded Nigerians with so much lies ? You will recall, when the Chibok Girls were kidnapped, our military came out the next day to brazenly lie that they have been recovered. That was one of the hundred of lies.
Then, they lied that Boko Haram did not take over Gwoza; same was said of Bama and same was said of Damboa and the 25 other towns /villages they controlled. Our military also said the sect had not hoisted its flag but that again turned out to be a lie.
Another lie they sold was that our soldiers never ran to Cameroun but that lie was quelled by the Camerounian military, then our lying military then said it was a ‘tactical retreat’ .Another lie was that the military had the requisite arms and ammunitions used to fight the insurgents only for our soldiers and their wives to revolt in Maiduguri. Miraculously, the release of the Chibok Girls will happen within days and the president will move to the next scene of his reelection bid. The next scene on the script is that, President Goodluck Jonathan will come out as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s (Endorsed) candidate who was cajoled to contest and feed us more lies.
He will come out in a colourful and luring ceremony organised by TAN and sponsored by the missing $20 billion to declare that he has defeated the terrorist sect, Boko Haram. We expect him to claim that he will do more if given four more years but we know it was his plan all along.
The jigsaw is falling into place but this time the icing on the cake will melt because they have goofed . Their attempt to con Nigerians into getting them re- elected in 2015 has hit the rocks. We cannot all be fools at the same time, can we?

courage54: The only set of people who are scared of Buhari are those people who has indulge in one form of corruption or the other. That is why PDP will fight tooth and nail to make sure they derail the personality of the General.
If Nigeria must be great again then we should vote in an incorruptible personality such as the General.
God Bless Nigeria God Bless Niger-delta
me and my family will do just that. It's our only way out. I wish people can put sentiments aside, tribalism aside and do the right thing. I'm a Yoruba,i'm a christian but i'll vote Buhari cos I see in him, a man that can make d difference and save us from the jaws of these dictators. 7 Likes |

olapluto: The bribe is working wonders. I expect more silly reports of such magnitude in days to come, until we all forget and move on. I believe this report, it's not a matter of bribing anybody. The Americans have hypnotised the world especially Africans so we don't ever see anything wrong in what they do. They are therefore always seen as saints and protectors of the world. 2 Likes |
