Quintopia:Just come and see things for yourself. The fueling stations are cashing out big time. |
The Guinness World Records (GWR) is aware of Damilola Adeparusi’s attempt to break the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, FIJ can report. Alina Polianskaya, a public relations executive at the GWR, confirmed this to FIJ on Thursday. The confirmation came after 26-year-old Adeparusi, also referred to as Chef Dammy, concluded a 120-hour cooking marathon in Ilupeju, a town in Ekiti State. The GWR also debunked the claim that the chef’s effort was in vain as she did not apply before attempting to break a record. “We are aware of Chef Dammy’s cooking marathon,” the organisation stated. “It is possible to submit evidence after a record attempt has been made" Polianskaya said there was no waiting time to break an existing record and added that it was possible for people to break their own records. This means Chef Dammy can become the next record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual if GWR receives and ratifies all the evidence. It also means she can still break the same record again if she wants to do so. Nigerians received Chef Dammy’s attempt to break this record with mixed feelings when she kicked off her cooking on June 9. While many hurled a barrage of insults and condescending remarks at her, others urged her on with words of encouragement. These mixed reactions were not unexpected because between May 11 and 15, Hilda Effiong Bassey, a 26-year-old celebrity chef, cooked non-stop for about 100 hours in Lagos State. With a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes, Bassey, popularly called Hilda Baci, is the latest world record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. The GWR confirmed Baci as the record holder on June 13. This means as of June 9, she was still awaiting an update from the body on the evidence she had submitted. So, at a time Baci and many other Nigerians were waiting for the GWR’s verdict, it was not unusual that social media would be abuzz when the news of Chef Dammy’s cooking goal went viral. But against all odds, Chef Dammy, a 300-level mass communication undergraduate at Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), reached her 120-hour cooking target on June 13. In an interview with BBC Yoruba, she said the cooking marathon was neither an attempt to break the GRW nor a move to compete with Hilda Baci. “I just did it because I enjoy cooking. It makes me happy,” she said. Very poor in Shagamu area of Ogun state. We only get light for 1 hour in a month. Very bad, very saddening for a town as big as Shagamu. |
Good for her. Now, her record will not be verified. I disliked her when I saw her post insulting our president. Good riddance! |
Subsidy is here to stay. NLC is on its own, we the Nigerian masses who doubles as members of this union will not obey the strike. Our common good is at stake, the future of our children and children yet unborn is at stake. No to NLC strike!!! NLC cannot use us to make money because as soon as they are settled in the backroom, they will forget their agitation. We are fine and we all will be fine in the long run. |

Nigeria is currently playing rubbish. Who is that Muhammed guy and how the heck did he get into the team? |
During the Naira redesign, Buhari was the best thing since slice bread to the Igbos (disguised as Obidients). Now that the election didn't favour them, they hate him so bad they can kill him. Confused people. |
slawomir:For Igbos to think they will be president of this country is baffling. Not now and certainly not in 50 yrs. Nobody likes you guys cos of your egoistic tendencies. Even if you deserve it, the judges will rig it. Until you learn to reduce your pride, you will continue to be sidelined. |
The record will not last. Abi no be the girl wey dey insult our president before the election? Her record is dead on arrival. |
Rufai Oseni! Rufai Oseni!! Rufai Oseni!!! How many times did I call your name? Iwo lokan. |
Freebills12:I didn't say it was perfect because you don't get perfect elections anywhere In the world. The little things that happened are not enough to say the election was not credible. So, I can't say that because I want a perfect life just the way Jesus promised me. For you, If your mentor (Obi) is not corrupt then may your life be perfect but if he is just like all other politicians including Tinubu then may your life be scattered beyond imagination. Bastards trying to sell a thief as a Saint all because of tribalism and perceived marginalisation of their tribe. I aint buying it and so are majority of Nigerians. If Nigeria is to change then support one who is not part of the problem. Eleribu somebody! |
This election is the most transparent since 1993. Losers will definitely feel aggrieved but the truth is the truth, we must give it to Buhari. Yes, we had skirmishes here and there but they are in no way enough to undermine this election. Some people from a particular section of the country have tried to pick-up on this minute issues, they have overblown them to paint a picture of a bad election or stolen mandate. The people who are true to themselves know better, Nigeria is indeed moving on to greatness. Congratulations Buhari, congratulations president elect Tinubu and congratulations to Nigerians. If you no like am, tear your passport. |

PoliteActivist:I'm sure he doesn't even care. You people of hate did and said worse things about Buhari. |
PoliteActivist:We know they are all coming from the children of hate and so they hold no significance at all. Cry all you can, wail from now till eternity, it will only pan out badly for you and your people. I hope the president elect has the temerity to give you guys same energy and thus abandon your region for 8 years. Trust me, nobody will complain, you guys deserve it and much more. |
Depression is a very dangerous mental health disease. Tinubu has given you and your ilks insomnia, so much so that you couldn't sleep, and thus you decided to open a thread in his name at such an odd hour. All of these people from that side, that region turned Obidients, we will give you the same energy you give us and much more. Tinubu is here to stay for 8 years, and after that, your nemesis (the people of the North) will be given power again. After the northerners, the people of South-South and then South-West again. Hatred and stubbornness will make you a slave till thy kingdom come. |
[quote author=Maximeo post=122365703]You're a foolish and wasted soul! You think Igbos care about your useless self loving or hating them. You're deluded. You ain't seen nothing yet. We will give you same energy you give us and much more. Ibos will never ever be president of this country. Maybe Biafra but Nigeria.. mba! |
Omo Adesanya on this one!!! Thank you for making Naija proud. Pereira should go to court or write a letter to the POTUS just like the people he has a striking resemblance with. |
Only Okoros are crying about an election that has been settled. It is very funny to even think they are banking on the Supreme court. As of today, in this country, an Igbo man can never be president. The Fulanis hate them, the Yorubas although once accommodating now hate them because of their tribalistic politics. The supreme Court ruling will be very swift. Instead of an Igbo man, the south south people will be elected. |

Even those that say the game is not yet over know deep down their hearts that the game is over. Grandpa, Please rellocate ASAP. |
Mayhem1:Cry me a river you stupid fool. The earlier you realise Yigbos will never be president, the better it is for you. Instead of Yigbos, we will pick South-South. Hausas and Fulanis will never ever vote for Yigbos and so we will Yorubas. The only saving grace you have is that if the law allows for rotation amongst all tribes. Outside that, Biafra is your best. |
That is what they are known for. If you check the foundation of their successful businesses you will find out it was built on drug money. The only reason they are pained Obi didn't win is because they will not have their man in NDLEA that will help them.grow their enterprise. They insult our president elect at the slightest opportunity and yet they are the real druggies and drug barons. From Kubana to Chief priest, to all of the successful phone sellers and pharmacists importing drugs, they are all dealers. Our president elect is coming... he is coming to make life miserable for them... the real drug barons. |
Godspikin:even Buhari did not win Abuja in 2015. Obi is a stupid fool. we dodged a bullet. |
Seyiemath:Eleribu!!! |
After March 11th, the fools will be shouting rigging and Supreme Court. Una judgment is reserved till after May 25th. Only then will we know the true owners of Lagos. Awon Eleribu! |
Anyone that believes an Igbo man will be president of this country while the Fulani is still a force to reckon with in this country can believe that Naira will be equal to the dollar. Go to court, give yourselves false hope and use that to avoid BP while it lasts. |
A million blessings. |
Mayhem1:Ogun kill you and your generation! Bastard! Wait till we burn your shops and chase you off our land. Eleribu Oloshi. |
