Dallas Cowgirl: Well, that explains the backwardness of this thread.

Carry go.

Yorubas all the way......
This sort of thing is not done in the city. Ndigbo do it in their villages to show their roots and connections with their kins.
Moreover, you dont have villages and kins. This thread is not for your likes.
Once again, quit the thread poor boy.

How would a bonafide Igbo want this sort of thing to be done in Lagos or Abuja etc.
Only Igbos breast-fed by ape milk will want it in the city.

Dallas Cowgirl: Seriously, I want a proper, well organized Yoruba wedding.

I be proper proud omo Yoruba pelu proper Yoruba tradition ati culture.

Sugbon, na terrestrial power go bring me back to Naija wey dem dey bomb pesin like chicken
Boy, take your time, it's about Igbo trado marriage. What affects Ndigbo doesn't affect the Yorugbas. We are not same.

Igbo people here who were breast properly by their mothers have condemned the act of not doing it in their village. So stop seeking cheap attention here.
Family › Re: Traditional Marriage In The Village, Is It Compulsory? by Ngodigha: 11:56pm On Sep 19, 2013
Phiozy: Please I need an answer ASAP. My cousin is getting married soon, and this has been bothering her seriously. She happens to be Igbo, but with a mother from Kwara state(yoruba).

The children are very close to their mother who despite being married to an Igbo man, despises the Igbos(especially Umu village). Unfortunately, they(my cousins) were all born and brought up in the North, and they understand yoruba only, depise Igbos too, and have never being to the village.

Now my cousin is getting married(to a yoruba man) and wants her wedding(white and traditional) here in Abuja, but the dad insists that they must do the traditional marriage in the village or no traditional marriage at all.

I've asked friends around and they said it depends on the village, tradition and her position in the family(1st or 2nd daughter), and luckily for her, she happens to be the second(the 1st daughter who married a yoruba man too, also had same issue, but only did an introduction in form of Traditional marriage and a court marriage here in Abuja).

Although I'm an Ada, grew up in Abuja, but have no problem doing mine in the village if that be the case(maybe because I schooled in the East).

But Please I would like to know, is it COMPULSORY for an Igbo lady to do her traditional marriage in the village?
Am sure you are making up this idiotic story. Only few days ago, someone asked a similar thing in another thread, now you have turned to your thread with Igbo in it so that it will attract traffic. What a silly thread.
They hate Igbo, they despise Igbo and you are still asking about their trad wedding in Igboland. Will the same people they hate come to eat and drink with them?. Change your story poor girl. Its rare to see Igbos saying they hate Ndigbo. They may hate their fathers brothers or cousins may be because of land or money but not the entire Ndigbo. This is unbelievable.

Segeggs: HATE IT OR LOVE IT.

Yoruba has the best culture.

75% of hit music in africa has yoruba in them.

Their movies are in yoruba language.

The language is easy to understand.

They are very social.

They are accomodating.

Even non-yoruba musicians sing in yoruba more than yoruba musician do in other languages e.g psquare, tuface, faze, blackface, orezi, timaya, terry g, dj zeez, naeto c, don jazzy etc.

a culture that produce an empire.

A language that is freely spoken by nigerians in england and mostly in brazil.

A culture that first embraced free education and still hasnt lost out to westernization.

The list is endless.

I respect other cultures but the best is still the best.
The culture that does this to her people.

Sports › Re: 95% Of Super Eagles Players Are Igbos? by Ngodigha: 3:25pm On Jan 27, 2013
Afam4eva: Players like Igiebor, Echiejile, Ideye, Musa, Ogude and some other players are not Igbos. This is one of the few times when we have more non-Igbos in the team.
Uwa Echiejile is Igbo from Igbo speaking part of Edo state called Ekpon. Ekpon and Igbanke are Igbo speaking and have been clamouring to join us in Anioma state if created.
But whatever the case, if football, the best are chosen not based on ethnicity. Most of the dropped players are Igbo yet Igbo people are not complaining.Even Bright Dike who shone so well during the qualifiers is Igbo yet no complaints. Get a life poster because you have none.

seanet01: Why?
At least he knows surely well one of his forefathers Samuel Ajayi Crowther, taught you IBOS how to read and write
IMAO
Please stop all this moronic fallacies in this thread. For your information, Crowther along side other Igbo repatriates established Church missionary society in Igboland.
Prior to this period, Ndigbo had their own form of writing called Nsibidi.
Aside Nsibidi, missionaries from catholic church, methodist, etc were active in spreading western form of writing. The credit does not go entirely to crowther.
The problem with dimwits in this forum is that they chat crap of Igbo history which they lack.
when talking about political leadership igbo is not anywhere in the band of qualified contenders......we really need to stop throwing igbo in the mix on national politics. if there's a rating for political weight, on a scale of AAA to CCC and where the triple A is the top dawg, in descending order igbo will be CAA.
At the moment, probably Ndigbo doesn't have a very true leader. We know it and because of that we rely on our socio-cultural organisation to fill this vacuum for now. But in the past, we had leaders such as Osadebey, Azikiwe, Mbakwe, Ojukwu, Okpara, Akanu Ibiam etc.
But if any fool can say Ndigbo has no leaders, then they should tell us who has produced better leaders than Ndigbo.

alj harem: One thing you fail to realise is that it is not everything you would start fighting for. Somethings are better resolve through dialogue. What is the point of kill both the militant or which we would also get killed and innocent people from both sides would die. That is one thing Ijaws learnt from Yorubas, the act of dialogue-ing before action of which the Fulanis learnt 200 years ago from the Yorubas. Now there is relative peace. If Ijaws want lagos, they can have it. We Aworis and Ogus could careless so long as they do not kill us and we are allowed to live in peace.

That is Yorubas for you, forget all this internet shouting and boasting. We can't hurt a fly even if it is on our food. grin grin The british know us best in this aspect.

Even a 3 years old child, won't find this difficult praying in Yoruba, only if you weren't brought up with your local dialect.
He doesnt mean in your local language but local dialect, this could be in Ijebu, Ekiti, Owoh, Ede, Ogbomosho etc.
It could also be in Mbaise, Ukwuani, Umuahia, etc not just in central Igbo or Yoruba.

Revolva: Has anyone tought of the igalas speaking communities in oshimili north LGA in delta huh? Located in EBU ...pls someone google Ebu delta state and see my igala folks who migrated there to join due to how river niger pushed the igala kingdom apart to the border of edo, anambra...
On the ebu people which are not even recognised by even the ika igbos ..are facing some kind of assimilation by the ika igbos.just as illah which is now a fully ika igbo town back in the ancient times it was igalas speaking ......due to the fact that the ebu population is little and greatly influenced by the igbo culture from anambra and ika as well.. If you ask a deltan if they know igalas are in their state even a urhoboman will never agree not to talk of the Asaba people ..they are not aware but only someone who is vast in reading and travelling to places and studying cultures.. Anioma comprises of many tribes if it will be given a state..
Anioma comprising of many tribes doesnt matter, what matters is that Anioma region is an Igbo region. What is wrong with you guys?. Ondo state is not only made up of yorubas but other tribes yet no one is complaining. Is Ondo not a yoruba state?.
