A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Kogi State, Adamu Enape, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
Enape, who is a member of the Kogi State Pension Board, was kidnapped on his way back from the governorship campaign tour of Idah in the Kogi-East senatorial district.
The spokesperson for the party in the state, Bode Ogunmola confirmed the incident but the Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi police command, William Aya, says he doesn't know anything about it.

Barely 24 hours after one Chindo Bello, a wanted suspected Boko Haram member was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, the Nigerian military says it has arrested another wanted Boko Haram suspect. A statement by the Nigeria Army spokesperson, Col. Sani Usman, says that the wanted suspected terrorist, Ishaku Wardifen, was arrested by vigilant troops of 23 Brigade Special Battalion at a check point in Maiha, Adamawa State this morning.
According to Usman, preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspected terrorist is a Cameroonian citizen. Visual matching with photographs on the poster of the 100 declared suspected Boko Haram terrorists wanted list released by the Nigerian last month, shows that he clearly resemble the suspect on serial number 22 on the list. The suspect has been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The re-election bid of Governor Idris Wada for a second term may have suffered a major setback, as the current 21 Local Government Chairmen may have concluded arrangements to defect to All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor and the Council members had a face-off last year when the former (Wada) was fingered in sponsoring a court ruling which ordered the dissolution of the 21 members.
It was gathered that the move was meant to install those loyal to him as caretaker members.
Though, the governor denied having a hand in the ruling, he has however refused to allow the reinstatement of the said council members who won their case for reinstatement at an Appeal Court in Abuja, a fortnight ago.
The governor was quoted to have said he has no confidence that the council members would work for his re election, and has therefore told them he would obey the Appeal Court order when he wins the Nov 21 election, a development which does not go well with the over 200 council members

The Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris, says government is taking proactive steps to make sure that salaries are not delayed again.
Idris said this in an interview with newsmen after the commissioning of a creche donated to the office of the AGF by ECOBANK on Thursday in Abuja.
He expressed regret that most Federal Government workers as of Thursday were yet to receive their salaries for October.
He said the delay was caused by technical fault in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information Solution (IPPIS) system.
Idris said,“We are being proactive and we will do whatever it takes to maintain the technology and make sure that this kind of thing does not happen again.
“It is not in our interest that this kind of thing is happening and we bear the responsibility. We are doing all it takes to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.
“We have established a backup for GIFMIS (Government Integrated Financial Management Information System) and this will ensure that we are prepared the next time we experience system failure.”
Idris said that whatever technical fault experienced, it had already been resolved and salaries were now being paid.
“It is not anything that has to do with lack of money. We have resources; we have money but the technology to deploy.
“We now do e-payment so any slight glitch in the technology will impact on payment. And that is what has happened.
“But this has been resolved and alerts have been coming. People have started receiving their salaries,”he said.
TheNews Agency of Nigeriareports that the IPPIS facilitates automation and storage of personnel records to support monitoring of staff emolument payments against budget.
It also ensures prompt payment of salaries directly to employees’ accounts with appropriate deductions and remittances of third party payments such as tax, pension, cooperatives, union dues and bank Loans.
