PoliticsRe: Nigeria Bankrupt Because Of A Foolish Policy, Says Emir Sanusi by Niceiroko: 4:36pm On Aug 04, 2016
thats why our oga at the top economic team could not stop the recession
progress69:
Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II on Wednesday said that Nigeria is experiencing economic recession due to the implementation of a “foolish, unrealistic and unsustainable” policy.

The former CBN governor wondered why anyone would be surprised that the country is “bankrupt”, saying the refusal of the elite to listen all these years led us down this path.

Sanusi said this while delivering a lecture on deregulation of the downstream oil sector and Nigeria’s economic development at the National Defence College, Abuja.

“Nigeria is bankrupt; we are bankrupted by a policy that was foolish, that was unrealistic, and unsustainable, and by all means our refusal over the years to listen,” he said.

“We are surprised that we have an economic recession; we are actually surprised that we are in recession? We created the recession.

“The oil sector is only 15 per cent of GDP, yet oil accounts for 70 per cent of government revenues, oil accounts for 99 per cent of our foreign earnings.

“We got to a point when even though the numbers were staring us in the face, the entire nation was in denial. In 2009 when I became governor of Central Bank, the Nigerian government spent N291 billion that year subsidizing petroleum products.

“Two years later in 2011, N2.13 trillion was spent on the same subsidy, so has our population increased ten fold? It was very clear that this wasn’t oil subsidy; it was a scam.

“The whole issue of fuel subsidy was set up to create an opportunity for a few people to make money, and it was presented in a manner that convinced everybody that it was for the poor.

“For every 30,000 metric tonnes of kerosene imported into the country, the Federation Account lost $20m. We were importing six to eight vessels per month for six years until this subsidy unload; the Federation Account was losing from $120m to $160m every month.

“This is just on kerosene; can you imagine a country losing $120m every month to a non-existent subsidy on kerosene, and not on the PMS. This is how bad non-deregulation was because it allowed a small group of criminals to garner so much financial resources as to undermine every single institution that we had for checks and balances.”

247frolicboss:
President Buhari visited Zamfara state to inaugurate some roads and other works in the state. In doing this, he was dressed in a military outfit.

His fashion statement caused a stir online as many compared to something similar to what Goodluck Jonathan did during his tenure.

Many have come out to compare the two looks on the two presidents, but Deji Adeyanju who is the director of the PDP’s new media took it to new heights when he said on his Twitter page: “Too much of imitation is bad” referring to Buhari and his military outfit.

The Digital Strategy and Engagement Unit in President Buhari’s office saw this and got right back at the PDP advocate saying, “At least Boko Haram can spot the difference”.

BrokenHeart2016:
Right now my heart is heavy, am in a state of confusion I don't know what to do.On saturday I received the shock of my life through a text message from my girlfriend stating that I should move on with my life that it is over between us, at first I thought I was dreaming because I just got up from bed at exactly 7am, I ignored the text thinking it was a mistake had to shower and get ready for work. The following day which happens to be on sunday I called her and She told me that she has think about it that I should move on with my life...its over!!! I asked her what have I done to deserve such a thing from her she was unable to justify her action.
O boy, my jaw drop e be like say dem use dagger pierced my heart have never experience such thing in my life, I do read it online about how girls break up with their partner with no reason I can't believe this is happening to me. This is a girl that I really care for we met during our National Diploma program in 2012, she will be graduating this year while am about to put in for my HND.
Am not boasting about what have done for her but I just want you guys to understand my plight, I help her financially during her two years of studies pay her school fees and other miscellaneous while am still hustling. During our five years of courtship have never thought of cheating her or dump her for no reason I always make sure she's comfortable because her parents has passed. Since saturday my life have never been the same because the tone of text msg always ring on my head, am so sad right now I can't think straight anymore my boss at work notice my mood today and ask me what's up with me I had to dodge the question....till now I always look at my phone hoping to see her call or text maybe she was joking with me, I really love her so much and I always express my love to her though am not financially bouyant at the moment but I always do everything in my capacity to ensure she is Ok....there was a time i use money meant for my handouts to buy her foodstuffs and all, have sacrifice a lot for her during our academic days I finished with Lower Credit while she has Upper Credit. I'm not jealous of her success but frankly speaking I make impact in her life in general, I do see her as the mother of my kids there are a lot of plan I have for her, we always discuss this all the time. Right now she school in osun state while am hustling here in oyo state but I always travel to visit her from time to time and shower her with a lot of gifts.
Pls I need your advise on how to move on with my life because right now the thing is affecting my life I can't think straight anymore or even sleep very well. Bashing is also allowed I just want u guys to talk sense into my head.

These preacher people need to learn to respect peoples privacy and peace. They come at ungodly hours with megaphones to preach about things they don't even fully know about and disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood.

I have set my Dogs on a few of them in the past and even confiscated the Megaphone and Bible of one.

Killing her was extreme and for that they must face the full wrath of the Law but these Pastors need to call their people off.

PoliticsRe: Why It Is Hard To Believe 3.4 Trillion Naira Was Truely Recovered by Niceiroko: 6:56pm On Jun 05, 2016
3.4 tri and budget is 6. Tri hw com Nigeria is broke
Caleboha:
If 3.4 trillion naira has been recovered these things shouldnt happen;

1. Sharp decline in monthly federal allocation to states. Most states are walking very tight ropes. Unable to pay salaries. I am presently owed 5 months salary. Last month only a meagre 281 billion naira was shared. Throughout the last regime, it never fell below 340 billion

2. Rising spate of unemployment. Most federal and state parastatals confess they are truely under staffed but cannot employ due to lack of funds. Blaming lack of funds for inability to function is the new norm

3. Businesses are daily being crippled as the economy suffers from lack of sufficient activity in the small and medium scale sectors; drivers of the economy. Without cash for capital, this segment of the economy goes weak.

4. Desperate moves to obtain loans from the world bank and China. This should clearly be uncalled for

5. Hundreds of projects have been halted and hardly any commisioned in the last one year. All the contractors allude that the government is falling short of the terms of the contract.

6. Move to increase taxes on all levels without commensurate improvement on the execution government's social responsibility to its citizens

Feel free to add yours. Just facts, no abuse

Buhari must realise that freezing the whole system and trying to control everything will make him ultimately fail.

Saving up cash or funds is the crudest means of wealth creation. If that is Buhari's plan or idea its a shame! Of what use is 3.4 Trillion if Industrialisation is at a halt, capital projects stalled, standard of living on the decline, Salaries and lawful entitlements of citizens unpaid.
