Hello,
Please, I've a B. Sc in Science Laboratory Technology (microbiology techniques) with CLB 9 and 2 years working experience. Am married and my CRS is 363.
What are my chances of getting provincial nomination from any province in Canada.
Thanks for your prompt response.

Vetassess Officially open Skill assessment support this morning but they broke the service into two. The first service is document checking service and cost AUD 110 while the second is consultation on selected occupation which cost AUD 220.

Vetassess issues is becoming much more difficult by the day.

Thanks

I have been on the sidelines for couple of months, but you can be rest assured that I haven't been sleeping neither have I stopped the chase.

So, I've got both good and bad news... And for me, the good news always comes first.

I received a positive outcome on my MSA CDR application from EA today. It was Fast Track, and took 16 working days; my status didn't change until the 16th working day. I'm grateful to you all for your relentless and selfless services. SPECIAL THANKS TO @MALKINGBURG for the RELEVANT MATERIALS.

In another news, I give up on 189. Now chasing 190. My last English test (PTE) was a complete DISASTER, SPEAKING score of 49 (R70 L78 W86). Completely demoralised to even try again, hahaaa. My speaking can't be that bad. Thankfully, my IELTS was band 7. In my case, practice didn't make perfect because this was my first time of ever preparing/practicing for an English test; over a month wasted, lol. Thanks to y'all for the resourceful materials and links. SPECIAL THANKS to @MCTOWEL01 for the RELEVANT OFFLINE MATERIALS.
I also prepared for PTE for 2 months with sleepless night like mad but am currently demoralized, surprisingly I didn't put half of that effort in my ielts.

Congratulations and commiserations.. see as i dey check EA website every morning and night for the past 5 days..

Ol boy, that speaking no be small thing o,, did you have noise in your test center?
I also completed my pte exams few minutes ago, it was crazy as the computer time was just running fast in my reading section and in other to complete the listerning task on time I out run the time and finish my test 30minute before others.. My first with CBT and pte but am thinking I will better off writing ielts as my first attempt of ielts academic gave me band 7(S8,R6, W7 and L7.5)*. My assessment body does not require English test. Please will State/territories accept IELTS General?

The CSOL usually stays the same during the financial year. However, special conditions are either introduced or relaxed at different times during the year. An example is Customer care/Call centre officer 149---. I saw a question about this on the thread. Special conditions sometimes state that you need to have 75 points to even apply or you nred to hAve stidied in the state. So you have to apply at the right time during the year.
It seems most of the states require proof of fund which is about AUD35,000 for 3 applicants

What about if I study one year diploma course in the state, we I be exempted to provide proof of fund and getting 75points.?

The highest I can currently get is 60points as am not claiming points for working experience.

Am thinking of nominating Microbiologist or Laboratory manager as they are closing related to my qualification and job but Vetassess advisory service closure is delaying my assessment as am waiting for it to reopen or them to introduce the new scheme.

SOL is reviewed at the end of every Australian financial year - July 1, CSOL can be updated anytime by the territories/states
One is expected to nominate an occupation for assessment with vetassess, what is the chances that after nominating the listed states/territories occupation in the Csol, before the assessment result comes out the occupation is remove and not available in any state or territories.?

If the Csol can be updated any time does that mean we have to keep checked the Internet daily to see any removal or addition?
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Nickoko: 7:44pm On Oct 14, 2016
1.I have a B.sc in Science Laboratory Technology(microbiology option). it is closely related Microbiologist, Lab Manager and Quality Assurance Manager, which an considering nominating but they are all in CSOL and assess by VETASSES. Can i choose Environmental health officer since it is on SOL and also assess by VETASSES?

2.Can a state opening a particular skill for sponsoring and suddenly close it within a period or when open it remain open forever?#

3. I don't want to claim any working experience point but current work as Administrative Manager in production factory that have all the above listed occupation. I guess my work don't part any part in the application process.

Great Thanks.

bellong:
1. The comment you quoted should be enough to answer this question.. READ... you have to read instructions on the State's website. Some you apply directly, while for others indicating in your EOI is enough.

2. I don't understand the question.

3. Depends on the assessing body for the nominated occupation. What is your qualification in and what experience do you have?
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Nickoko: 6:44pm On Oct 14, 2016
Few questions for Bellong and others.
1. Do I have to apply separately to the State sponsoring the occupation?
2. Does the sponsoring change within a year or it is fix( any state that offers to sponsor do that until another list is out or sponsors comes in any time and an day)?
3. What about if your occupation differ from your academic qualification and your occupation is on Sol while your academic qualification is on scol. Can one choose the occupation since it is in Sol?

bellong:
For emphasis sake and this goes to everyone reading. If your occupation is found only on the CSOL list, the first step is to check for States sponsoring the occupation. It is pertinent to state that not all occupation on the CSOL list is sponsored and some sponsored have additional requirements one must meet to get the State's nomination. This is why I encourage everyone to follow the instructions in the opening posts and read info from the links provided.

To address your question, Health Information Manager occupation is sponsored by only SA and Victoria. It is on special condition on SA list, meaning he needs about 80 points to get sponsorship while Victoria has this requirement that must be met "Must have a qualification accredited by the Health Information Management Association of Australia".

Does your partner have qualification accredited by HIMA? If no, he can't get nomination from Victoria as the additional requirement is not met. I don't think there is any point going ahead with that occupation.

What is your own qualification and occupation? You probably may be better as the principal applicant.

Hello all, I appreciate the good work you all doing on this forum. I am in a situation where i would need advise on what to do next. I recently applied for Victoria State Sponsorship for the second time and got rejected. Nominated occupation is Geologist (234411), Point 70. Want to ask what other route can I use to get state sponsorship since Geologist is under CSOL. Tasmania and Queensland both require either a family connection with the state or job offer which I dont have. With this its seems there isn't any other feasible options available.
Please, somebody should assist in answering this question.

Below is the person respond
"To answer your question, I will start with this question: do work experiences have to match academic qualifications? I think the answer is NO as I am yet to see any rule on DIPB website that says your primary skill must match your academic qualifications. Kindly correct me if I am wrong. Therefore, is it possible for me to be working part time under a particular, say as Head Customer Service, while studying for my MSc. in Engineering part time in Uni? Very possible. If I had worked as Head Customer Service for 6 years which I can translate to 3 years as full time job, can I claim 3 year full time work experience? I think so. Can I claim MSc. as my academic qualification? I think so too. Even if the job and the course are the same , I don't think it should be a problem. As in most developed countries, university studies are sometimes afterthought. A lot of people would have reached almost the peak of their careers before deciding to go and study. There are apprenticeship schemes which allow people to learn on the job without any serious qualifications. You will even see someone that never stepped the walls of any universities interviewing a PhD holder cos of his no of years of experience. If such person decides to get BSc. after then, does that mean his years of experience will not count? I don't think so On the other hand, if the work is full time and studying is part time, I don't see why that should be an issue at all. You should be able to claim points for both job experience and education
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Nickoko: 3:53am On Sep 16, 2016
Good morning gurus,
Somebody told me few minutes ago that one get fill the assessment and EOI form with part time education for his B. sc and or M. sc to claim points on his/her working experience. i e if I did a part time B.sc for like 6yrs and was doing a full time job during the same period, I can claim between 6-4 working experience.
Please, how true is that statement?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Nickoko: 12:45pm On Sep 15, 2016
i think we should get the statement right to enable us give accurate answers, the subject is "working experience whilst undertaking a qualification". for instead when a person studied in a part time B.sc or M.sc program along time holding his/her full time employment in nigeria at the same time. Your work experience will only counts from "POST QUALIFICATION", You can not graduate 2years age and you are telling them you have 10years working experience.

After post Qualification your working experience will be considered wheather part time or full time job, all you need to do is to tailor your reference letter to fit into the expected working hours for part-time.

Please, we should collectively look at this issues together Pre -qualification, Post Qualification and In-qualification working experience to enable nairalandian fill their profile correctly as miss-representation could cause rejection or bogus statement.

Thanks.

dupyshoo:
This is not correct. Part time work while studying part time outside Canada will count.
However, when you are on student visa in Canada, part time work will not count for those that are applying under Canadian Experience Class. Also, experience gained during school internship, which is part of your educational programme will also not count. JesusDway posted a link earlier. I have decided to post below links to support my statements.

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Nickoko: 8:08pm On Sep 14, 2016
Gbam! 100% correct and that is the clarification about part time work.

Gymme:
I was actually pointing out part time hours that qualify for full time and not about before or after qualification work experience.

IRCC rejected a friend's PR application because they counted his work experience from after he graduated here in Canada. He thought since he started the job while as a student, that should count as work experience but they said no, the work experience should start counting AFTER school.

So i would also say that post qualification (whether part time or full time) is what IRCC recognizes.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Nickoko: 6:16pm On Sep 14, 2016
@Gymme. Are you saying part-time job before qualification counts or part-time job after qualification? Are you saying if somebody graduated last year from a part-time program in nigeria university though he has been working for the past 6years whilst schooling, he will he get 6years or 1 year working experience for canada express entry? To the best of my knowledge cic only consider post qualification working experience wheather part-time or full time.

Gymme:
I still doubt if our part time job in Nigeria is really part time and not full time sef. This is because i believe we work up to or more than 30 hours per week AS part time in Nigeria which is equivalent to full time in Canada.

In essence, if one's part time job is up to or more than 30 hours weekly, then it is full time equivalent.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Nickoko: 8:51pm On Sep 13, 2016
I don't think your work experience while undertaking a part-time study counts, CIC requires post-qualification in calculating your points though i stand to be corrected.

JesusDWay:
It's not compulsory for your experience to be related to your degree. The part-time work you did counts and, if you also worked while doing your part-time Bsc, it counts as well. However, you will need to get reference letters from the places you've worked to substantiate your claims, CIC requires it.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Nickoko: 7:12am On Sep 12, 2016
Do u think full time work experience gain whilst undertaking a part time B.sc program will be considered?
Having graduated in 2013/2014 session and till working but results officially released and collected with 2015 date. Will the working experience starts from 2014, 2015 or the entire time of the program since I was working and schooling was a part time program?

Thanks

a field highly relevant to Microbiologist or Laboratory Manager or Quality Assurance Manager occupation? They are biological science related courses but it seem Laboratory and Quality Managers are at management level. Please, which of them do you think I have better chance of positive assessment from Vetassess?.

Garykasparov:
Dear Nickoko,
It will do a lot of good if you can give a timeline of your 'work and study' period, so you can get an accurate response. However, you seem qualified to apply. But bear the following in mind:
Firstly, your part time job must not be less than 40hrs a week and for a continuous period, and fall under the required skill type. Also, the work experience gained in the last 10yrs is only applicable.

Your profile is ok, take your test, and if you meet the aforementioned requirements, then apply and indicate that your study was indeed on part-time basis
@Garykaparov

The timeline for my work (2004- till date) while my study timeline is from 2007-2014.

My job was all full time i. e 8hrs daily from Monday to Saturday. I was told that working experience is calculated post qualifications or Pre-qualification. Will they consider the job experience? I work as a Quality Assurance Officer, my skill occupation is Laboratory Officer because I ready B. Sc Microbiology.

Please, Are my chances high? People claim it is better to apply early in the year when the opening is high than now, how true? How do I go about the application process?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Nickoko: 4:54am On Aug 09, 2016
Am thinking of submitting for documents for assessment but i just want to quickly ask some few questions to enable get the best assessment.
1. I read B.sc (Techn) Microbiology Option and Diploma in Microbiology from thesame university But both was done as a part-time program. 2. During this period i was and till working with thesame large company for about 11years working experience now though not in area of my academic specialization. 3. My possible related area by academic qualifications are closely listed as Microbiologist and Quality Control Manage 4. Age point = 34 5. My ielts exams is slated for August.

what are your best advice, what are my chance and do I start the process
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Nickoko: 10:10am On Aug 08, 2016
catchdwind4rmkd:
YES to Q1-3.
For Q1, you're expected to send evidence of prior and further learning even if you don't want to assess it. Same applies to your work experience whether you're assessing it or not, you should just list it.
For Q2, why are you bent on going for 489? It's really not easy to come by. It should be considered as a last resort. In my opinion you don't even have that 10points yet from 489. You still have open options of getting your minimum score for 189 and 190. Why not just go for 20 in English?
For Q3, I don't usually encourage that pathway (Education). You'll spend over AUD 40,000 (including tuition fees, logistics, accommodation and upkeep), yet you'll still have to wait for about 2yrs to be eligible for 5 points coz you only have that once you have evidence (certificate or transcript) of acquiring Australian degree. In my opinion, English is the easiest route. For someone willing to spend that amount and time in Australian education, you can register for English preparation classes, and write as many IELTS or PTE as you want until u get the maximum point from it. I doubt you would spend up to AUD 5,000 or even 3 months to achieve that. This is because even th school u want to go, you'll still need to be hardworking, disciplined and study very well for 1.5yrs; and you still need to pass an English test to gain admission. So, why not concentrate your efforts in achieving the best English score within 3 months and save yourself the time and money of Australian Education.
For Q4, refer to DIBP website or search directly from Google.
[quote author=catchdwind4rmkd post=48294863]@Chuckdee and @Catchwind4rmkd.

I do really appreciate your various comments and best advice for me. Am really not so bend on Subclass 489 but am force toward that direction since i can't get points from my working experience and gettinf 20points in English test is not easy , i.e at least 8 in all four component especially as ielts is becoming more and more difficult to pass though a very optimistic but i know my ability.

I was just thinking of 489 since 190 and 189 is looking unrealistic .

Once again thanks guys, Am going to look for how to register for PTE since people are saying it is much more easier to pass.

Thanks

I gain a direct entry admission into a B. Sc program with my Diploma result hence I don't have year 1 on my B. Sc transcript. I just check my occupation list and discovered that they required for 1year working experience which i can proof but can not claim point since it is not up to 3years. Pls. My Questions goes like this. 1. Do I need to send my diploma transcript along with my B. Sc Transcript for vetassess assessment?. 2. Since I am not getting points from my working experience,am optimistic of getting 10 points in English language test to make up for work experience lost point hence it will cumulate into 60point (Age =25,qualification=15,England test =10 and Subclass 489 =10). can I scare through with that?. We the hope that vetassess assessment will come or positive. 3. if it will not go through should I apply for Australia Education to get 5points for Australia education next year or to stay back and get the required 3 years working next year which will also give me 5 points. Though I learnt that going to Australia via education increase your chances for permanent residency. 4. How do I check the ceiling point of my skill, between Laboratory manager, microbiologist and Quality Assurance Manager which of the do think my chance are higher considering my B. Sc in Science Laboratory Technology (Microbiology technique) as all skill occupation listed above are closely related with almost dsame requirements Thanks. I await your candid advice on what is best for me.

Thanks Mr. Sugydee

I really appreciate your candid advice and comments. I promise to take them in this order.

1. Completely forget about my diploma result.
2. I sent vetassess mail to inquiry about my chances but they refuse to respond.
3. I will apply for qualification assessment and use my 2004- 2007 (3years) as working experience since I was working as Quality Assurance Officer within the period.

Though Am not very optimistic about my chances with Skills migration but am blend on leaving Nigeria for Australia. I guess I have a chance in my ielts to improve my point test scores again I enrolled for the so difficult(as claimed by people) ielts academic instead on cheap general because I was thinking of going to Australia via study in Bsc Nursing before I stumbled into this Nairaland link the day before yesterday.

Once again thanks to Sugydeee and the gurus in the house.

SUJYDEE:
The bitter truth is that you can't use your Diploma to apply for the 4 occupations you mentioned; they are all skill level 1 occupations.

Secondly you might not be able to claim any work experience because going through the 4 occupations task descriptions - where you work......huh

VETESSA.... "na very hard nut to crack".

You can just apply for qualification assessment and that will still require some on the job experience (here you have to tailor your experience) for you to have a positive outcome or better still do the pre-assessment stuff first.

Here's a snapshot of the 4 occupations' requirements.
You can browse the anzcosearch.com, vetessa and mail vetessa to inquire one or two things.

My own 2 cents.......

OR

B.sc (2014) (Option 2)
Subclass489(regional)= 10
Age = 25

Since you are not claiming work experience. You are 100℅ fine. You have the most important element for the application, positive assessment.

If you have written IELTS, fill out the EOI and wait for your ITA.
Thanks.

Do you mean i should go ahead to do my assessment with VETASESS and wait for the outcome(if positive or negative) without the work experience, am sure my point would not be up to 60 if i don't anything from work experience? My ielts test is slated for next week Saturday.

Although my degree is in electronics, I have been working in project management and research roles for

and will there be any issues arising from this?

Please, I need to know if I stand a good chance. Thanks
