@Frank @Manko and Others.

Please, my younger brother is applying for one year program and he is self sponsored but amount in is account is just 4,000cad less living expenses after paying one full year tuition fees.

Should I step in as a sponsor by transferring cash to him and provide my bank statement, Business document and others?

Or should I just do a gift deed of the said amount without providing my bank details and other relevant documents?

Is it possible to have PPR drop in your mail without eligibility starting or eligibility start same day PPR drop ?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Nickoko: 4:00pm On Feb 24, 2022
I kept hearing people talk about complex application and I am wondering what are the criteria to consider an application simple or complex.

Demmy10:

Exactly! People would have used the new portal and still gotten refused. Your documentation also matters whether you used new portal or GC Key, even the faster processing time, that's if your application isn't complex. I'm sure there are people who have used the new portal since November and haven't gotten a decision, just because we don't see or hear of it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Make everyone calm down. The PPR go reach all of us....

This is my first time to see PFL for fraudulent employment letter. Frequently heard in tourist visa application because many agent use the same letter to apply for thousands of persons.

Your best bet now is you ask the HR and any director(attach CAC document and identification as evidence of share capital ) to write a letter acknowledging the fact that the individual is employed by the company and often receive monthly salary. You will also have to produce history of PAYEE deduction from salary, Salary Account. If the individual can produce government issued Payee Tax certificate, it would be great.

Anon123:
Good day guys..

How can someone defend a PFL as a result of claimed fraudulent employment letter?

NB: both company names are genuine.

I dont really understand though, the employment letter was not stamped(he can get it stamped) but asides that, is there anything else?

Colleges are technical schools basically.

Check U of T,McGill, BC, Alberta,Dalhousie, Calgary...

Seriously, its not about the tuituon fee per say, i jyst added that. Ok, help her find schools she can study law, forget tuition

Thanks for the response. You make sense

The word reasonable is subjective. What I make consider reasonable might not be what your friend would consider reasonable.

I will recommend he or she uses the google search engine to check for schools tuition fees and determine which is reasonable base his or her pocket while putting preferred location and quality of education into consideration

Teemenzo:
Abegi oooooo my people oooooooo, help oooooo, agbatan la a gba omo ole oooooo.

I have a friend who wants to apply for Masters in law.

Pls jelp recommend good schools with reasonable tuition fee.

I count on you all. Thank you very much.

Check the message from MP. You can clearly see that it pays lot of emphasis on document and evidence regarding your finances for study in Canadan.

I have checked your narrations and attached documents. I can’t find school fees payment receipt and where you attached your salary payment slip. These are evidence that is lacking.

Also I don’t know much was in your personal statement of account. You didn’t show enough document to support your strength capability and that of your uncle.

Please note that even if you and your friends submitted at this time and with similar document, no two application are same unless you both used exact same documents. That would mean the genuineness of the application would be questioned

aizebe:

I applied from Nigeria.

As alternative to applying for GCMS note. I got same information in ATIP using MP in Canada.

This is super fast. Did you apply from Nigeria ?

You did not state reason(s) for the rejection. You will need to apply for a Gcms note to get a more accurate reason why your application was refuse and it was help to provide a better guide in your next application which would lead to approval, God willing.

If I may ask, when did your eligibility start? I have never seen application completed in less that 2weeks like yours.

What if he still have the funds in his or her account?

Points : Unclear provenance

Demonstrate how this funds was accumulated, remove tax clearance, it's not required . Do you still have the funds in the account? If no, kindly pay tuition with GIC ( This expedites your application ).

2. Study Plan: write a good SOP. Make your study plan more convincing. Let people check it for you. You can also contact professionals to put a finishing touch on your SOP . Someone like justmellow of gcms writters can help.

Thanks. This is very detailed and informative.

Wow!! Extremely useful to me and others.

Again thanks.

1. That is a wonderful course because it is 2 years and have co-op. You did a great job identifying and going for it. When you get to your school, get excellent grade and highlight on your resume during your co-op search. Your co-op will give you the highly valuable Canadian experience.

2. That's a lie. Although minorities, black included, have more unemployment rate, there are several black people in and leading HR departments. In fact, one HR leader in the City of Calagry is a black woman originally from Nigeria. Her name is Adediwura ODIASE, MBA, MSc., CPHR.

The problem most immigrant minority face is that Canadian employers like to build their own leaders and most immigrant come with international experience and education. As such, they end up being over qualified for most entry level position and under qualified (due to lack of Canadian experience) for most senior level position. At the end, the compete heavily for the limited position available for them.

Most masters and PhD graduate, particularly in humanities field, with zero Canadian experience will find it challenging to get a professional job after school. Diploma and bachelor's degree graduate find it easier because of many entry level position. For the masters and phD international student, there are ways to navigate the issue but you won't learn it in school. You will learn them from professionals outside school. So don't just study in school, network with Nigerian and non-nigerian professionals while you are in school. If you find one close enough to you, they might share the tips of getting a professional job in Canada.

What do you think about a 2years PGD course in Business Management-Human Resource? It has 4months Co-op. Someone mentioned on quora that more establishments in Canada will not hand over their HR department to a black man because they would feel the black can’t completely understand their work culture and laws?

Osemigho:

Masters in computer science is one of the most lucrative degrees right now, thanks to the growing power of computer technology, covid, and booming remote work and learning. Most 2 year masters have summer breaks. However, students often spend it writing their thesis or project. Considering how booming computer science is right now, I will focus on school and graduating rather than summer hustle.

To give you an idea why this is the best time to graduate and enter job market, I know a candidate with about 4-years experience and msc computer science from Nigeria. He is rounding up his PhD in computer science in Canada. His supervisor was delaying his graduation and he became PR while waiting for his thesis defence. Since he is a PR, he focused on applying for professional jobs and got multiple offers over $130,000 per year. He finally accepted one of about $140k.

In summary, get in and complete your program fast. Focus less on summer hustle, but feel free to do summer internship or student position in computer science related field and if allowed. This will give you the highly valuable canadian experience on your resume. The job market is till very favorable and sweet for your field. All the best.

Congratulations

Gennyoma19:
PPR Alert Guys!!!

P:S The application is for my fiancée. However, I was 100% involved in the second application. (we started dating in 2021)

Second Application - November 5th, 2021
First application in 2020 was refused based on purpose of visit, home ties and personal assets.

A quick backstory he has was studying for Masters and applied for a Post Graduate Certificate. He disclosed this in his first application.

What he I feel he did wrong in the first application:
1. He was not done with the Masters at the time he applied in 2020. (He studied in an Asian country)
2. His course of study did not really align with his background and he did not properly explain the reason for choosing that program in his SOP.
3. The Masters program is higher than the PGC Certificate.
4. Personal assets ( no need going into much details). We all know how IRCC operates with this refusal reason. Having enough money is not really a guarantee.

What we did differently:
1. Requested for GCMS notes, analyzed the refusal reasons and how to tackle them.
2. Changed course of study to a more related course. Though we still maintained a PGC
3. Had his sponsor Deposit his living expenses in his account.
4. Wrote a well structured letter of explanation and statement of purpose highlighting how the course of study will impact him and his home country and the opportunities available in this field in Nigeria.
5. Attached landed documents.
6. Added a co-sponsor for elaborate demonstration of proof of funds.
7. Prayed fervently.

Note: We still went ahead with the application despite him not being done with the Masters still. Although, it was properly explained in the LOE.(for once strong head don good).

*Application Submitted: November 5th, 2021
*Submission Confirmation: November 6th
*Medical Request: 21st January, 2022
*Medicals done: 2nd February
*Updated to pass: 4th February
*Eligibility review: I really don’t know when it started. It is still showing we are reviewing whether you meet the requirements.
*PPR and Correspondence Letter : 9th February, 2022.

Last last na God run everything. All glory belongs to him alone!!!

Documents Submitted:
All IMM forms
Letter of Admission
Bank statements (MBS) of both sponsors and applicant
Employment Letter
Landed documents (Survey plan)
Tuition receipt
Affidavit of Support
Letter of Sponsorship
Family pictures
Study Plan (one and half page)
Letter of Explanation (2 pages)

Thanks to Nairaland and you all that steadily give value on this thread. Everything I know and applied on the application was from this thread. I never travel before. I appreciate you all. Those that answered my questions, may God bless you. I wish everyone in waiting PPR. Amen!

I totally agree with you that files are randomly picked, timeline for decision feedback lies on the VO and the complication of your application.

Legacyedition:

Yes boss, as explained earlier. They pick up files randomly in their 50s and 100s . How fast or slow depend on the officer working on the file. God should help us with good officers.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Nickoko: 9:16am On Feb 09, 2022
It is so difficult to understand how IRCC operates. While lots of November applicants are worried that eligibility has not started and some have not even had their medical updated, I have a friend who applied on the January 15th using the old portal. His medical was updated on the 27th January and eligibility started today 9th February. Though this is his first study permit application, he was refused a tourist visa in 2019 on purpose of visa.

Legacyedition:

You don't have to be scared . Most Study Permit application gcms note comes out without pre-assessment note cos of batch processing by Chinook software used by ircc currently. They are doing away with the junior officers. Application gets processed in batches
on Chinook spreadsheet in 50-100 applications per page . So not having a pre-assessment note is not an issue.

If officer can't make decision instantly on your application due to bank statements confirmation, Loa confirmation, documents request etc. He will place your application on "review required" or "recommend interview " . He has 30 -60 days to get back to your file. The documents department will place the requested details on his/her action list after confirmation or your submission.

You will have to mail your visa office to remind them that your file recall is due if you didn't hear from ircc within 60days after the RR got updated.

Here is where paying tuition fee, doing gic, Mybankstatements ticket without lumpsum deposit comes to pay. From the testimonies on this thread, scholarship/funded applicants gets decision faster. Reason I decided to pay full tuition fee and additional 10,000CAD for living expenses. I got med request 10days after my file was re-opened with resubmission and PPR 10 days later. Total of 20 days. There's absolutely nothing the visa want to confirm from Bank again.

Considering the fact that you are doing a year program and having paid your first semester school fee at the same time having 32,000CAD balance in your account, I see no reason why the VO would see it as molest.

Please pay your full one year tuition and explain the VO concern in your LOE.

Hubmon360:
I am sponsored by my brother but also adding my own funds too, which makes it a joint sponsorship. I had total deposit of 32000cad

What if the person previously applied for tourist visa and was given UCI number. Does he or she has to use the same number for Study Permit application?

Ketima:

If you're a fist time applicant, you do not have a UCI number. So leave it blank. You will only get it once you apply. But if is a reapplication, log into your GCKey, you will see it there. UCI is UNIQUE CLIENT IDENTIFICATION number

The person should send them mail and attached his or her international passport within 24 hrs after the auto-reply, he or she will receive a mail of an appointment date. I and other persons did it recently and it worked.

Ketima:

Ok, thanks a lot. The person isn't a resident in Lagos., so it will be hard to do so. Was asking about it as the person wanted to enter Lagos the same day (as IOM is within the proximity of the airport), do it the same day, and then return back to base the next morning. Guess we have to make do with Qlife then.

Thanks for your reply.
I would take your advice to heart.

Scott99tish:
Hi Nickoko,

I don’t think an expired IELTS would make any difference.
(1) I’ve not seen NSE Request in months, so no point.
(2) Even if they decide to start NSE request on your head again, it has expired. They will just ask you to do another IELTS and share within timeline.
So save yourself the stress if you’re not ready to re-write IELTS. Except you don’t mind writing again if they consider it.

About 5 pages SOP, There’s no particular pages you must write or not exceed. The major thing is to ensure you capture all that is required.
It’s not too much. JUST CAPTURE ALL THAT IS REQUIRED.

Regards.

Please I have a quick question:

I have an expired IELTS result but with a band score of 8 in total. Would it make sense if I attached it to my attached?

Is 5 pages of SOP too long for a first time applicant?

Are you saying it is not possible to walk-in without booking and have medical done either in Q-life or IOM?

Anon123:

NONE..

You will have to visit each facility and plead for a space hinting that your resumption is April and waiting till feburary for space will most definitely delay your app.

Meaning theres a possibility you may need to be forced to defer the admission.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Nickoko: 2:15pm On Nov 07, 2021
Yes. I did but it was my expired IELTS result. I don’t think it made a difference in their offering me the admission. Your previous study was done in English Language so IELTS will be waived for you

Lastly, i am employed and also have a registered company with CAC. Should I put it under the finance section?

That about vehicle papers??
KoinsOfLagos:

Here’s what I did

Get a good phone with great camera
Download Adobe scanner
And use the phone to scan your documents
(I realized that using the Adobe scanner on my phone produced clear and small sized documents)

Under PASSPORT
Scan your unexpired passport with all your travel stamps and old passports but arrange them in most recent order

Under Finances
Scan all bank documents/landed properties, and anything that proves you have the funds

Under Client information
Your SOP, certificates, employment letter (if any), payslips (to show you get paid), salary account statement (to show you are legit employed), and any other thing you wish to add

Then if you want to merge PDF together, use I LOVE PDF app on your PHONE.

The files come out smaller but still very clear on phones

It will take miracle for Naira to gain lots of strength again dollar in the next 1year.
