Actor Charles Inojie has revealed that he proposed to his wife via a phone call.

The comic actor in his interview with Saturday Beats;


“My wife and I had been friends and lovers for a while before we got married. When I approached my wife that I was in love with her, she told me that I was not serious because she thought that I was joking. I experienced that for a while but with persistence, she accepted to date me.
“There is something about destiny and there are some people that you would meet and you would know that they are meant to be more than friends. Incidentally, the day I proposed to my wife, she was not even in the country. I called her to ask when she would return to Nigeria and she began to query me. She eventually told me that she would be away for about three months and I began to grumble at that point. She was eager to know what was on my mind because she asked if the issue was very serious. I told her that even though it was quite urgent, I would be patient.


He continued said:

“She ended the call and later that evening, she called back asking me what the problem was because she had been restless all day ever since I made the call. She demanded that I tell her what was on my mind. After dragging the issue for a few days, I had to open up because I discovered that it was going to lead to an unnecessary quarrel. I had to propose to her on the telephone and immediately I did that, she started crying, then she said yes. That was it. I would have loved it to be more conventional but the circumstances did not allow it. But I am glad it went well.”

A middle-aged Nigerian man identified as Edward Agada, has lost his life in a most painful manner after he was reportedly electrocuted in Bayelsa state.

The victim had recently lost his grandmother who is currently at the mortuary. His family members have been left totally devastated by the tragedy. His corpse has now been deposited at a mortuary in Bayelsa.

Nigerians have lambasted Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode following the shocking discovery that the landscaping and beautification of the Costain Roundabout Garden was awarded to a barbecue services company - Topmost Suya and Asun Enterprises.

According to Punch, Nigerians have called on the government to conduct an investigation how such a blunder was committed. Some Nigerians have described the contract as scam, saying it is a reflection of the state of the country.

“What do you expect in a corrupt country; fictitious names of contractors. What a shame.” Hrm Paul asked.

Asampokoto added: “There’s absolutely nothing funny about this. If anything, we should be asking questions. This is obviously a company that doesn’t exist; the contract was obviously awarded to a person who then subcontracted it after stealing his own bit,” he posted.

“Nigerian youths; this should actually cause some sort of investigations; read about what Diezani stole (with crony companies) and it doesn’t occur that the ‘Suya’ company is actually a front? May God help us,” a post under anonymous pseudonym said.

Another reader, Ifeanyi Ekwo, said, “Lolz…only in Naija! A company registered to provide barbecue services is given contract for landscaping and road beautification; he reissues the contract to a specialist who bills him for half the value of the contract. In the end, the cost of the contract is tripled…and tomorrow we go say how govt dey spend money sef #Accountability.”
