Parrot are social animal and they do good when they are paired. If you buy them from different source, before you put them together, you have to put their cage side by side for weeks for them to communicate before any other thing.

This is one of the parrot that are trafficking to Western work, though it's not costly like African grey. This is a very intelligent parrot if you give them more time and training. I have 1 and it's very very intelligent , mimick but stubborn. He barks like my dogs and have their different bark that sometimes you wont even know. But He normally do it at his own will.

You made a mistake, First you don't try to touch or take them out of the cage cos your still a stranger(they see you as a predator and threat). They are very intelligent and you need to get familiar with them for some weeks. By getting close to the cage everyday, give them food and water , after a week you can gentle open the gate, get you hand close but don't touch, you watch their body language and once they are comfortable with you, you will know cos they will be listening to you and your family talking and you will see the excitement in them, they will come to your hand by themself not you forcing yourself on them.

Lately I have been seeing lots of parrots videos on my fyp on TikTok, especially the talking ones. I found it so cute and amazing.

This afternoon on my way back to the office, I saw a guy selling these parrots, na so I call am, bought the parrots, 2-in-1 for that matter.

Getting to the office, as a new and first time pet owner, I was excited.

I noticed that if I tried to to get close to the parrots via the cage, they turned their backs especially the smaller one.

I didn't know what prompted me to try bringing the birds out from the cage with my hands, one of the birds grabbed my finger with it's beak and bit me real hard.

It gave a cut that bled more than I'll ever imagine.

Long story short, I just told my office assistant to carry the birds to her house. I no do pet owner again.

Imagine if this had bitten any of my kids.

Same day I owned a pet, same day I became petless.

Same thing here, we have houses in most of the city in lagos and Ogun state, some other state too. Its very good to invest especially in properties . I don't even depends on my grands and parents properties cos what I have for myself is enough to last me. Family ways of life do affect the family either positive or negative. Most time its not about the husband, its about the uncertain future, no one knows what the future might hold so women are now doing things in their name especially properties, my wife told my mom point blank that every of her properties will be in her name which my mom understands, I do to and we never heard any issues with that, not that she doesn't trust me but its just a normal thing to do. Its her money and have right. My problem is not her building but her father's house, that is bad investment.

First let me clarity something's to you, first we are in Nigeria doing things in family house especially the female child is 50/50 chance, what if tomorrow there is a dispute on the said land after her father pass away, what if her sibling are not on the same page, we are having the same issues, my grandfather had so many properties which after his death, some of my Dad's siblings are not cool with the will which they contest. The case is in the court, my father had his properties away from his dads own and I have my own away from my dad, the house I build in our home town is simply a family house so to avoid family issues the best is to acquire your own properties and build, that is an investment for your kids but anything you build in your fathers house is a 50/50 unless if your father attest to giving you the land and before he died , you acquired the document for the landed properties if not its risky. I'm in support of her having her own properties but I'm not in support of her in her family house.

What is the title of the land you acquired, is it agric land or residential land. For govt not to intervened. If its agric land then there is nothing you can do. Before I gt the land I'm using for my farm, I make sure its agric land and the purpose is for agric. Landlord association came to me one time and I schooled them since then most of them started poultry or fishery. If its Agric land there is nothing you can do cos the main purpose of selling the land is for farming and poultry is part of it.
