PoliticsNorth Is Unhappy With BUHARI - Northern Supremacist Ango Abdullahi by Nicur(op): 1:38pm On Mar 26, 2016

Spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum and former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Professor Ango Abdullahi has expressed the displeasure of the Northern forum with the way President Muhammadu Buhari is steering the ship of the country.
Ango Abdullahi who was at the forefront of the campaign for the power to come to the north in 2015 says that the president is surrounded by sycophants who are detrimental to his agenda. He also sounded a word of caution to the President over his treatment of those he described as “permanent friends and enemies.”
“Buhari should be careful about Nigerian politics, especially the politics of the merger of APC, who are in the government to pursue their selfish agenda. Buhari should not be too rigid on permanent friends and enemies. He should be very careful with sycophants both in his cabinet, party and National Assembly,” he said.
Prof. Abdullahi said as a former university VC, he cannot overlook the issue of the termination of the appointment of 13 university Vice Chancellors across the country and described the President’s action as unlawful.
He said; “Well, frankly speaking, university system has been virtually part of all my life. But what is always critically important for a country, for its institutions is to be guided by the rule of law. And anything that runs outside the rules, regulations and laws, you find out that the outcome is usually chaos. You see conflict of interest, and so on and so forth.
“Yes, historically, all Nigerian universities at the point of their establishment are established by law. The one that I know most is the Ahmadu Bello University, and it has to do with the Office of the Registrar as well as the Office of the Vice Chancellor. And of course, laws, when they are made, at various points in time, there are certain circumstances that need to be reviewed in line with the law to fit such circumstances in the evolution of that institution. And all universities are supposed to have laws and regulations.
“To come to this specific and recent happening about the dissolution of governing councils, the need for the sacking of vice chancellors that are in office, I think the resolution of the contentions must be found somewhere in the laws establishing universities, and for me, until recently, I was the Pro-Chancellor, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. I remember very well the most recent university laws that were amended had conferred specific powers on the governing councils of universities to have sole responsibility for the appointment of their principal officers, including the Vice Chancellors.
“Before then, usually, the councils play a role up to the point when three names are shortlisted among so many that have shown interest in becoming vice chancellors of these universities and eventually these three names are sent to the visitor of the university. And the visitor can use his discretion to take any one of the three names regardless of other recommendations that the council may have made in respect to those three.
“It was his prerogative to pick any of the three and that’s okay. But in the course of the amendment of these laws and particularly with the pressure that was coming from the academic staff over the years, wanting more autonomy, quote and unquote, autonomy for Nigerian universities, and I think associated with the last long ASUU’s strikes, I think the Obasanjo administration acceded to this, if not all, some aspects of university autonomy.”

PoliticsWhy Has Buhari Kept Quiet While Fulani Herdsmen Wrecks Havoc All Over Nigeria by Nicur(op): 7:45am On Mar 26, 2016
THERE was tension and fear among the residents of Ugwuneshi autonomous community in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, following the alleged arrest of 76 of their people by “men in military uniform” over a clash with Fulani herdsmen. Awgu where the community is situated is a border community with Lokpanta in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State which hosts a cattle market. According to the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Godwin Nwobi, the incident took place on Thursday last week. Igwe Nwobi alleged that Fulani herdsmen who settled in the community without permission had been using their cattle to destroy their crops and farmlands over the years. He said pleas and warnings from the farmers to the herdsmen had always fallen on deaf ears as they continued to graze on the community’s farmlands with impunity. Irked by the continued destruction of their crops which he said were their only means of livelihood, the youths of community protested the impunity of the herdsmen. He disclosed that after the protest, information filtered in the village that two women who went to farm had been abducted by the herdsmen. “When we got such information, the community gathered to discuss modality of dispatching some people on rescue mission and suddenly they were surrounded by men in military uniform who arrested 76 of them and carried them away in trucks”, the monarch said. He therefore appealed for the intervention of the Enugu State Government, to secure the release of the arrested villagers who he said were taken to Umuahia Prison. “It is wrong for our people who fled the North because of Boko Haram to be treated as slaves in their own land. We don’t want to be destroyed by herdsmen like they did in Agatu, Benue State. Government should please come to our rescue. We appeal to our Governor, and other South East Governors to save Igbo land from herdsmen invasion before it is too late”, Igwe Nwobi lamented. But the Public Relations Officer of the 14 Brigade Ohafia, Major Sydney Mbaneme, denied knowledge of the incident, saying the “men in military uniform” were not soldiers. According to him, they might be fake soldiers and civilians who camouflage themselves, saying that “if at all they are solders, they are not our soldiers.” However, the zonal Police Public Relations Officer of Zone 9, Police Command, Emma Jiakponna, DSP, said he was not aware of the incident.” Meanwhile, Ohanaeze Youth Council has condemned the arrest and detention of the villagers, saying it as “an insult to the Igbo nation.”

Actually that person was correct, if we go by the wiki references of Ogun state and SE states land mass.

Ogun state = 16,980 km sq.
Imo state = 5,530 km sq.
Abia state = 6,320 km sq.
Ebonyi state = 5,530 km sq.
Anambra state = 4,844 km sq.
Enugu state = 7,161 km sq.

Add Anambra, Imo and Ebonyi combined land mass and you get 15,904 km sq (which is still less than Ogun's)

Add Anambra, Imo and Abia combined land mass and you get 16,694 (still almost 300km sq. less than Ogun's).
wait let me go and re-edit Wikipedia, so as you grow reach you don't know that Wikipedia is not a good source for reference??
