How do you know he/she has not TRIED anything on his end to ease the Nigerian situation? It is this NEED to put down others for telling us the truth that is being addressed here. We come up with EVERY POSSIBLE REASON no matter how irrational to REJECT the truth, every which way we can. We have people rejecting it because the video was made by an America, now you are here saying you REJECT the message from @theblessed because IN YOUR MIND, he/she does not fit the image YOU WANT of him. Are you serious? You think say you dey do person ? Na wa ooo!!

Does rejecting TRUTH simply cause it is not offered you in exactly the way you WANT IT change the fact that the truth was offered at all?
first of, am not rejecting the truth that Nigeria is messed up. i think the best way to tell someone stuff is not to try and degrade him and make yourself seem superior, which is what the video is trying to do. also, the blessed keeps towing that line.what kind of image do i have in my mind about theblessed? if u know please do let me know. the grouse i have with her is that she keeps saying that we africans have a psychological problem. i disagree with that .
what message has theblessed brought to us? she just said

i) africans are psychologically sick

ii)we enjoy suffering
iii)the 'oyibo' don't like suffering
iv)commit suicide if u're suffering!!because the oyibo people do it.
I hope u get my point.

Wow, @ N.I.Gboi, why do you attack the blessed? I still find it somewhat disturbing why someone has to impose their views on others and when you refuse to accept the opposition, it resorts to insults. Please tell me why her own view perhaps her own opinion makes her sick? Besides she hasn't forced it on you, yet u attack her, all I can say is WOW.

If I'm trying to get something correct here is it that what the dude said was absolutely untrue or is it because an American said it, which is it? If anyone who thinks what the dude said was wrong, please speak and prove him wrong, as well as those who think he was right. Also if u think its because he's an American, America has slumps as well, you could pay a visit to one of those slumps at least there are dirty areas in DC (Capital of the U.S.), N.Y. (Supposedly, financial district of the world) have worse places than some parts of Lagos.
hey, may be i spoke harshly but i didn't insult her. i don't really like people making generalizations. and then there is this obsession with everything 'oyibo'. everything they do or say is right. we have a long way to go but i can say that some of us are making strides in the right directions. she keeps talking about how our (africans) are messed up. and i don't think so. for someone to keep on saying that, ther has to be a complex somewhere.

the guy has got some points, i agree but i think he made the video not to show us something but as a means to degrade us. i complain about the way nigeria is messed up. i really do it a lot.

Theblessed:
Wow!!!  What a wonderful and beautiful site these arehuh

Nigerians, we should all aim for these high standards, shouldn't wehuh?  How marvellous?
You see, poverty is a psychological thing and, it is evil, too! Why is it that poor people always feel guilty at enjoying quality and reasonable life, other people take for granted?  Do they not think, they deserve better? These are questions we poor people should seriously address because, there is something wrong with us somewhere! Our heads, minds and psychs needs to be checked!

If anyone should come up here and say he/she does not deserve a good and less difficulty life, instead of this 'Tinker' lifestyle, there is something psychologically wrong somewhere that no one could help them with, too bad.

Perhaps, it would be nice to call those living in V.I and Ikoye to lower their standards and try this Tinker lifestyle for one day only, and see what they would tell you maybe, you'd start to love yourself as you realise you deserve far better.

Boy, life is too short to waste it in extreme poverty and misery like this.  Again, let me tell you, there's nothing wrong in enjoying life after all, you have only one shot at it and there's no dress rehearsal here, when you'd gone!

first, who says Nigerians don't aim for high standards? your are sick. you got a warped mind.
Theblessed:
God bless you! You understand what life and living is all about.

Everyone except those being negative knows that Oyibo knows how to live life and loves living a good life therefore, suffering or excessive suffering is out of question for most of them - they take the quick option usually, SUICIDE.  sad sad sad sad sad

In contrast, our people know nothing else but suffering and we are so scared of death, not to talk of suicides when suffering gets out of hand! Therefore, we prefer to suffer till 'D' as they usually would take solace in the saying "No condition is permanent" than kill themselves, otio! shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked!!

This is because, most have suffered a lot in their lives that, they know no difference but sufferings - they are covered with it and would not even recognise a good life if it's thrown at them. Psychologically, they identify with nothing else but struggles.

The main culprit here is, ignorance/short-sightedness and, this is a curse!  God does not want us to suffer this way but, our leaders have ensured we remain in bondage for their own good/benefits.  Is it not our duty to scrambled out of this bondage and assert our rights?

According to someone here, Africans have always live near nature e.g. trees green grasses, bushes, forests and if they are wild so, what? After all, the whole world was once a forest so, what's the heck! But these days, our people could no longer see that living near nature is a good thing that can psychologically, improves their health.  But I ask, how could they see it when they are all concerned and focused on the chase for their daily bread.  Poverty is evil, you know!

Yet, in the midst of this poverty, you have crimes of all kinds hence, according to you, we have glorified prisons as homes and I add, corrugated bunkers as well.  They call these beautiful homes - homes their owners can't even breath in, let alone enjoy.  Is that the Country I should be proud of, really?? A country that can't even offer its citizens basic security - a fundamental Human Right it owes it's citizens.

For those making noises here, about this obvious truth in Lagos I say please, get a life! Stop this blind patriotisms! sad sad sad sad sad  The guy, is absolutely right, get it? cool cool cool cool cool cool

more evidence that u are sick! you know ,the only time i can fully agree with u is when u have done something about the nigerian situation. you sit in ur frigging house and make comments on the internet making so much noise when u haven't tried in anyway to make a difference.
psychologically speaking, u got a complex, real one. go check urself

PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Gradually Becoming A Failed State ? by NIGboi(m): 12:07am On Jan 09, 2010
Niigeria is not a failed state. how many wars are been fought on our soil? those nigerians that are saying nigeria is a failed state are actually doing what the western world really wants us to do. give up hope so they can come in and take what they want. look at all these countries called failed states, they western world played a role in turning them into what they are.

Tsiya:
Nigeria is not a fail state and it is wrong to categorize Nigeria among the top states. Most of these states have rebel groups that are either fighting to secceed from the country or trying to tople the government. In Nigeria we have non of these.

Infact to prove the whole world how wrongly they percieve Nigerians, is the current state of our nation. Our President is missing, but still we are an entity. No fighting, no coupe, nothing.

Probably Nigeria is the only country that can function on auto pilot.

spineless punk asses!!!! It was expected. We actually don't have a sane government. just a bunch of noise making vessels. God help them

Iyke-D:
Some of you guys sound surprised?  Were you guys honestly thinking that the bunch of jokers and retards that
made up the Nigerian senate actually thought through their action before issuing the ultimatum?  I mean how do
you issue an ultimatum that you have no way of enforcing? What leverage does Nigeria have over US, just oil?
If it was just oil, please remember that Nigeria is not the only country producing oil in the world. US on the other
hand can bring real economic pains and more to Nigeria.

For the ultra-patriotic Nigerians who don't see any thing wrong with the action or the lack of action of the Nigeria
government, its time you accept Nigeria for what it is - a waste of a country. US is not the problem, they are simply
taking steps to protect their homeland.  The reason UK will never be added to "countries of interest" list is because
the US is fully aware of all the actions the UK government is taking to stop terrorists from boarding planes. The same
can not be said about Nigeria.  Nigeria can not be flirting with everything Islam and expect to be treating potential
jihadists with kid gloves or ignoring extremist activities in parts of the country.

This was the only way the US government can get Nigeria to wake up to its duties. The US is not saying everyone in Nigeria is a terrorist, they are simply saying they have no faith in the security effort of the Nigerian government to
combat this threat as of now. Maybe when Yar Adua wakes up and initiates genuine steps to fight the fake and real
jihadists in the country, US will take Nigeria off the list.

Having said that, lets give the senate some credit, at least the ultimatum lasted up to 48 hours smiley Na who wan die?
come on, give me a break there! do u really believe everything u just said? first of all, Nigeria is not "a waste of a country" as u put it.  And America simply taking steps to protect their homeland- that is not totally true and u know it.

Agreed, America learnt about Farouk in November when his father complained to them about him, why wasn't his visa recalled? Why did the FBI deny the arrest of a second passenger on board Flight 253? Why was Farouk's issue not shared amongst the American Intel community? Why is Farouk being charged with the lesser crime,  of attempting to destroy an airliner instead of terrorism? Why was he not placed on a No-Fly list especially considering the fact that his father wanted to bring him home? Why has Schiphol airport refused to expose the identity of the mysterious Indian man at that airport with Farouk who facilitated his boarding of Flight 253 according to witnesses, via their CCTV footage? What was the state of Farouk's mind on arrival, was he drugged or a mind control victim? Finally, how is it possible for anybody to fly into America without travelling documents, under whatever pretext, without confirming clearance from the local US Embassy?
please help us ask the US authorities. am trying my best to think that it was just a slight mistake on their part but my brain is refusing to believe it. they expect everyone to believe whatever they say just because its america.

what kind of status? respect, that is what it should be. they should be accorded respect (for those with legal income), yes. and maybe that should encourage people to work hard. the issue is that people always twist things to what they really want. they hear and see only what they want.

actually this is exactly what happens! If a muslim gets involved in terrorism activity the entire mosque he belongs to will fall under heavy MI5 and FBI surveillance.

I was looking for a thread that someone opened a couple of days ago where the OP stated that she had just come from church after which she felt like she had to make money one way or the other quick quick because of the pressure that the sermon made her feel. It was like, if you're poor then you are doing something wrong because when you are close to God God will bless you with riches.

I'm not sure if it was Redeemed Church of Crooks that she went to but that is the general idea that they put out there too. All that prosperity preaching is distracting christians away from their focus on God's plan for them. It is demonic. You go to these churches and you feel so much pressure due to your financial situation. Then when they do make some money they then try to demonstrate how God has blessed them by making donations to the church as part of a show off. It is such ostentatious rubbish. And evil rubbish at that.
i have problems with u calling the church redeemed christian church of crooks. the thread u were talking about, what kind of pressure. its actually u telling urself to do something? i actually don't believe u should be poor but that doesn't make me steal.i go to church like every sunday but i don't hear messages that make me want to steal. but prosperity is part of God's plan for us right, so if ur pastor preaches that God wants us to prosper nad then u steal in order to have money, then its u not the church that is the problem.

huh huh huh

Are you alright, you this person? What has been rich got to do with being a thief? Do you think every thief is like you?

There are various motivations for human behaviour and crimes. True, there are crimes of desperation where someone steals because he is hungry, but that is not the only type of crime.

There is kleptomania which is a form of madness.

There are many motivating factors, but in Cecilia's case I would put it down to demonic possession possibly contracted from her contact with Redeemed Church of Crooks, or possibly even contracted prior to her involvement with them.

As a social disease this neurotic drive to acquisitiveness is based on spiritual deprivation. It is based on a a deep seated sense of want that has nothing to do with one's actual situation in life.

When someone gets afflicted with a sense of Want it will not matter how much money they actually have they will still feel insecure.
On the other hand we have all seen the opposite scenario where you see someone that has so little but they are so content and they are even offering to share the little that they have with you.

So you see, sense of contentment or sense of want is actually 'psychological' and has little to do with what you actually have.
I put 'psychological' in inverted commas because I could just have easily said spiritual.
I don't see what this has to do with a church for God's sake. you guys just use anything to try and discredit the church. its getting real lame. try something new. When a moslem 'steals' money (have u asked on what terms she was paid that money for the house) u don't open ur mouth to talk about the 'thieving' mosque he attends. WHY? if u have an answer let me know.

@eldee, he didnt call jay z the anti christ, its more like he is an agent of the anti-christ.

i think jay z went too far on this. dissing Jesus Christ. the guy must be going bananas. next thing, he will be saying that he is the saviour. he can't even save himself. never really paid attention to that song until this. Am a christian and since he is insulting my saviour, he is also insulting me.
what does Jesus and the church have to do with his song. the fact that he is now very wealthy, famous doesn't give the right to talk crap.
i guess he doesn't believe in Jesus, he has tried to equate himself with jehova and others.
Jay z can't do any of the things that Jesus did, he can't give life, can't save life, can't build the church, he knows this and tries to insult Jesus in his songs. he is just a pathetic dude, a very insecure man.
he needs to be called out on this, he has gone too far

Back to the Ibru lady. she owns 28 houses (properties) in dubai and so what? it wasn't said where in dubai, what kind of properties they are and what they are used for. some people asked how she lives in all of them. that's a dumb question because she doesn't have to live in them to own them - they might be rented out to or used for different purposes. and it's definitely is not greed to own 28 properties ( i think that's the right word), she has been into businesses for a loooooooong time. i guess all these folks in Nigeria who own properties around nigeria are also greedy because they do so. huh. duh! tell me something better.
