Kogi state is bigger than all the 5 SE states in landmass..
So what was your argument about gan gan? You're quite ignorant to say the least, yet you don't know it. Abia State you're writing nonsense about probably has more number of roads, more schools, more civil servants to be paid, more hospitals etc. than Kogi state. Claiming that a state has more landmass and thus shouldn't be expected to be more developed than another with less landmass is a dum.b argument. Every piece of that large landmass is not occupied or settled by humans. You can travel for tens of killometers in those Northern states without encountering any human habitation but you can travel a couple of killometers in Abia or any SE State without seeing settlements. For every settlement, roads will be needed, schools, hospitals etc and it will require money to build and maintain. Population density is more crucial than having empty landmass. |

mightyhazel: I noticed in almost all the civil war narratives by biafrans...the enemy was almost always referred to as northerners or hausafulanis.. does it mean the yorubas were so insignificant during the war? Little or no mentions about them . Now, I understand how, when and why Hausa/fulanis consider other Nigerians as conquered people. They actually saw Igbos as the only threat to them in exerting their dominance over Nigeria and once Biafra was defeated, they immediately assumed that they've conquered the rest of the country and that feeling has remained till this day. I must also admit that the Biafrans fought a battle they were destined to lose, considering the limitless odds stacked against them. Even thousands of Chadians and Nigeriens were transported into Nigeria and they joined the Nigerian army to fight against the Biafrans. Add that the humongous stockpile of ammunition that kept arriving Nigeria in plane and shiploads. It's even amazing how the Biafrans were able to resist for 3 years in the face of all these challenges. In essence, the Biafrans fought against not just Nigeria, but a coalition of forces that included Britain, Russia, Chad, Niger, Egypt, and Cameroun, countries that were all actively involved and coupled with a blockade against Biafra. Nigeria vs Biafra war is unarguably one of the most one-sided war that was ever fought. |

Any war again in Nigeria will definitely affect every part of the country. If anything, the epicenter will be Lagos and attempts to control oil wells and platforms in the Niger Delta. The type of Biafran/Nigeria civil war of 1967-70 can't be fought again because there are no regional governments anymore. Instead it would be a guerilla warfare happening in different places at the same time, just like in Libya. It would be spontaneous and What will trigger it is something like another endsars protest in the South or herdsmen killings. |

Amarabae: Thank you, if it is you, will you not get tired! I only pity the Ndokis and Egbemas even we Asa trapped in that hate filled state! There is something some Igbos have failed to understand. Our leaders are actually our biggest setback and I will give you reasons. SE leaders, particularly the governors are weak and timid. When Oyigbo LGA was under attack, Ohanaeze didn't say anything throughout the almost two weeks it lasted. Then when Wike came under massive pressure, he still made ridiculous statements purporting that Igbos are not indigenous to Rivers State. One would have naturally expected Ohanaeze to act or at least release statements on both occasions: 1. To condemn the attack on Oyigbo LGA and 2. To correct Wike on his wrong assertions. Unfortunately, they didn't act but to make an already bad situation worse, they embarked on a shameful visit to Wike. Now, if Ohanaeze had gone alone, it would have been a bit acceptable, but they had to go with almost the entire SE governors to pay a visit to Wike! Worse still, at the visit, they blamed the victims and never in any way questioned Wike on some of his excesses. If the SE governors or Ohanaeze have any self worth, they should have sent the Abia State governor or Umahi as SE governors forum chairman to meet with Wike in P.H and iron out issues. |

Sunstorm95: Most of those 4 stories at Onitsha and Aba look substandard and will have to be refurbished or demolished when Nigeria is really ready to develop. Sucks for Onitsha and Aba , demolition would be more complex or they're stuck with 4 and 5 stories. I actually like the fact Calabar is not populated with numerous 4 and 5 stories and is easier to demolish things and erect numerous 30 story apartments ,also lots of empty lands, simply much easier to transform. . It's obvious you're quite ignorant about how cities evolve over time. Virtually almost all cities in the world tend to grow in "height". Cities that had high rises of say 10 storeys in the 80's are now having having average of 20 storeys dotting its skyline. Same thing applies to cities like Onitsha and Aba you want to write off. In the 80's, Aba and Onitsha had mostly bungalows & one storey's, with few 2 or 3 storeys but today, they're having an average of 4, 5 & 6 storey buildings. I bet you, if not for lack of power supply, these cities be having much taller buildings now. Even Owerri, especially the New Owerri axis now has lots of classy 4, 5 & 6 storey buildings being built in recent times. Now, two things will happen in the near future when these cities evolve more. New and taller buildings will either be built in new areas or the existing 4, 5 or 6 storeys will still be demolished for much taller buildings. It is not impossible or that difficult to demolish. It is economic factors that will determine future developments. Igbos are capitalists and when power supply becomes constant, no one will buy a land for say 50 to 100 million only to build 3 storey on it. That is the time developers will start building 10 storeys or more to recoup their investments faster. Lastly, the buildings you call ugly in Aba and Onitsha is the type you find in Eastern European cities. |

Politics › Re: Niger Delta Vs Biafra: IPOB Crisis In Rivers State Reveals The Truth by NigerDeltaIgbos: 8:08pm On Nov 08, 2020 |
IkwerrePikin: [s]I am sad that the indigenous people of oyigbo LGA in Rivers state have become victims of circumstance in the crisis caused by migrants IPOB miscreants during the EndSars protest that led to death of security agencies in Oyigbo LGA.
Now if you have been following this incident you will understand how this issue have revealed the truth about the people of Rivers state and Niger delta (South South) at large, their decision of not being a part of Biafra which they rejected during the Biafra war in 1967.
The people of Old Rivers state (AkwaIbom, CrossRivers, Bayelsa, Rivers) after so much demands and struggle asking the federal govt to create Rivers state from Eastern Region which they were seriously marginalized by the Igbo led government, finally got their request granted and on 27th May 1967, under the administration of General Yakubu Gowon, Old Rivers State was created.
Surprisedly, while the people of Old Rivers state were celebrating their unique state were they can have full control over government affairs, Ojukwu out of greed as many would say, declared Biafra including the good people of Niger delta in Old Rivers state. This forceful annexation of the territory of the Niger delta people by Ojukwu igbo Biafra was resisted which led to the death of the innocent people of niger delta by Biafran soldiers. This is the reason why some ethnic groups in the Niger delta have their annual celebrations from the liberation of biafran armies which killed a lot of their people during the war.
The igbo leaders have refused to tell their children the truth, hence they keep believing that the Niger delta have interest in biafra even though some of the igbos who have read and made research know the truth that the Niger delta wants an independent state from every region of Nigeria, which led to the declaration of Niger delta republic In 1966 even before Biafra declaration in 1967.
Rivers people are happy with Gov. Wike, that is why not even a traditional ruler from Rivers state or even Oyigbo LGA have come out to say the security agencies are killing their indigenous people ever since the curfew in Oyigbo was imposed.
No Rivers state youth organization across the ethnic groups have come out to condemn the way Gov. Wike is handling the IPOB terrorist organization crisis in Oyigbo LGA. Instead we have the Rivers National Assembly Members who paid Gov. Wike a visit and declare their support, stating that Rivers state is Niger delta and can never be annexed by any group or region.
It is only the IPOB members across the social media platforms, using propaganda and blackmail to attack Gov. Wike, a man who is protecting the life, properties and territory of his people.
Take it or leave it, the people of Rivers state do not want IPOB terrorists in our state, we can not play politics with our territory, we know who we are, and what we stand for, we are Niger deltans and we have our own struggle, that is why even during the era of Niger delta Avengers, they made it clear they were fighting for Niger dletans and even threatened to declare Niger delta republic.
Igbo youths, stop allowing a few miscreants under the IPOB terrorist group to brainwash you with lies and propaganda, these people are only causing problems for the peace loving igbo people. They know the truth but have refused to acknowledge it, thinking by filling the Internet with lies and propagandas will make the Niger delta people be part of Biafra, it will not work.
Igbos should advice their brother Nnamdi Kanu to focus on his South East to achieve his Biafra rather than include the Niger delta people who do not care or participate in any Biafran celebrations. The way Nnamdi kanu is handling this Biafran issue, it will do more harm to the Igbos in the Niger delta and other parts of Nigeria.
Already there is a growing tension in the hearts of Rivers youths and elders ever since Nnamdi Kanu placed a 100 million bounty on Gov. Wike. How foolish is he to make such statement? He has provoked a lot of Rivers people, we are watching, and when we will respond, it will be very bloody for the Igbos.
Those Igbos who have brain let them understand this piece with an open heart and do the needful by calling their IPOB brothers to order, while those especially the IPOBs who have decide to remain brainwashed and foolish should get themselves ready to dance the music when the drum starts. [/s] After writing this nonsense, you ended it with a fake map, so pathetic! Firstly, Akwa Ibom and Cross River were never part of old Rivers State. Secondly, what is happening is between IPOB and Wike or in extension between Igbos and Ikwerre. It is never an issue between SE and SS, because if push comes to shove, we Igbos in the SS will definitely side with our blood brothers in the SE. Thirdly, Wike and in extension, Ikwerre impunity in Rivers State has been going on for a while now while others keep watching in silence but it doesn't mean that everyone else is foolish but a time is coming when Ikwerre people will be made to pay for all these shenanigans but I hope they will have sense and act right because Rivers State belongs to all. You claimed that no traditional ruler from Oyigbo LGA has come out to raise alarm but everyone in Rivers State knows how vindictive and wicked Wike is, and how will attack anyone that tries to expose him. I really hope you're not from Ikwerre and reasonable Ikwerre people should denounce you for being a nuisance. |

ChangetheChange: GEJ entering the presidential race will alter the entire Nigeria political terrain.
GEJ has only one term to rule if he runs for Presidency, which is why the Northerners all of sudden want Jonathan back as President at all cost.
Any southerner that contest against Jonathan whether Osibanjo or any southerner, will lose woefully---Quote me.
The Northerners will vote overwhelmingly for GEJ, the South South and South East will always vote GEJ as long as his on the ballot.
If both APC and PDP zone their Presidential ticket to the South. the only thing that can prevent Jonthan from becoming President againby 2023 is if he doesn't contest, which is why all of a sudden different faceless groups are issue press statements telling GEJ not to contest in 2023 and he should remain as an Elder statesman.
I repeat no southern Politician will defeat Jonathan in 2023 whether it is Osibanjo, Peter Obi, Tinubu, Akinwunmi Adesina, Donald Duke, Amaechi, Wike , Makinde or any southerner, GEJ will get block votes from the Northerners in addition to the inevitable Votes coming from South East and South South -Quote me
It is in GEJ best interest never to consider this poisoned chalice they're presenting to him. He will be the greatest fool to return to the ballot when he barely survived the previous one and is gradually building an awesome reputation for himself. He has little or nothing to gain by returning but everything to lose. |

Amaechi or any SS Igbo is fit enough to represent the Igbo nation in national assignments. If Ibe Kachikwu and Ifeanyi Emefiele can represent Igbos in Buhari’s executive cabinet irrespective of state, the same logic too applies in Amaechi’s case. Yes, SS Igbos from places like Asa, Anioma etc. accept their Igbo heritage and Igbos will always vote for us anytime and any day we want to represent the Igbo nation. But allowing imposters who claim to belong to a different ethnic group to represent us is a no no! It just doesn't make sense. |
