"Therefore in your midst fathers will eat their children, and children will eat their fathers. I will inflict punishment on you and will scatter all your survivors to the winds" - Ezekiel 5:10

"You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters" - Lev 26:29

"With their own hands compassionate women have cooked their own children, who became their food when my people were destroyed" - Lam 4:10

"Then he (king of Israel) asked her, "What's the matter?" She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.' So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, 'Give up your son so we may eat him,' but she had hidden him" - 2 kings 6:28-29.

Other biblical evidence of Yahweh inspired cannibalism can be found in Deut 28:53, Jer 19:9, Lam 2:20
Re: What Did You Learn At Church Today? by stimulus(m): 1:33pm On Jun 01, 2007
@Horus,

God did not inspire cannibalism, and you can read that in all the verses of the Bible - OT and NT.

At the end of the day, I'm still a happy Christian enjoying the love of God by faith in Jesus Christ. Maybe the next time you check, I would have eaten both my dad and yourstongue

Are you not the same guy who snivelled about a 'death threat' when nobody was chasing you? See how you can shake like a leaf when exposed to your own games.

It's a pity your racist "black jesus" has no God, no divine revelation, no fact to cover up your ignorance, and he just continues to pass as a shadowy figure.

Oh yes, the Bible makes me a CANNIBAL. . . and I must be a disobedient Christian for not having obeyed the "command" to CANNIBALIZE everyone I came across since my conversion. It's either that, or the Bible simply evidences your sob existence on a "black jesus" that has failed to do you any good.  cheesy

So why do you Chirstians avoid to answer grin
Why cannibalism is recomanded by GOD in Deut 28:53, Jer 19:9, Lam 2:20 ??

If you refuse to answer 1000 time this question

Where are those Christians to answer the question

@Horus,

Horus:

So why do you Chirstians avoid to answer grin

Indeed, Christians have provided many answers to your otiose questions; but your low IQ has failed you from seeing tyhe answers.

Horus:

Why cannibalism is recomanded by GOD in Deut 28:53, Jer 19:9, Lam 2:20 ??

I notice you have such a difficulty constructing simple sane sentences; but no matter, as we all make typo errors. The word should have been recommended. School up, Horus, school up.

To be sure, God did not recommend cannibalism in those verses. Those were pronouncements of judgements based on diobedience. There is a difference between a commandment that issues forth in blessings, and a judgement as the result of disobedience to divine commandments.

In Deut. 28:1, the Bible makes the distinction clear -- "And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth."

But then, what happens as a result of disobedience to those commandments? Verse 15 clearly shows the result: they will fall under divine judgements, such as would include include people eating their flesh. It is not a matter here of God commanding cannabalism; but of people themselves CHOOSING to come under the judgement of God when they walk in disobedience to His word of blessing.

How would this judgement come? Quite simply, God was declaring what their choices was going to bring upon them. I don't see how alternatives will be offered to me, and I would blindly chose to disobey and rather come under judgement.

The same declarations of Judgement is indicated Jer. 19:9 and Lam. 2:20.

Horus:

This not an accusation this is GOD'S Words.

You have been accusative in all yopur posts. There is a huge difference. And if you think otherwise, then you should have chosen to be sensible enough to answer questions offered you - especially those by Telly B.

Horus:

Here again look in YOUR Bible at Deut 28:53, Jer 19:9, Lam 2:20
If you refuse to answer 1000 time this question
I will repost it again 1000 time grin

And I will continue to be a Christian more than 1000 times. It would only be exhibiting your low mental state, in as much as you have artfully dodged the questions offered by others.

Horus:

Where are those Christians to answer the question

They have answered several times.

Now can you answer the simple questions offered by Telly B? Here again:

# What has your black jesus done for YOU?

# What has happened to your black jesus?

# Why have you been cheating your readers with decptive assuptions about langauges
you do not understand?

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-26406.32.html#msg1156103

# Why have you carefully been running away from the questions that Telly B has offered

# Why has your racism against Whites not helped you and your "black jesus" people
advance any further than the 500 years since you fell into darkness?

# what FACTS do you have for your "black jesus", and what has he done for your racist
group, racist education ignorance, and racist history?

Why have you been childishly running away from all these questions? Are you not the same guy who tried to pronounce your black jesus as the true Messiah? What has he done for YOU??

Meanwhile, why were you so scared about a death threat that did not exist?

What's your fright now?  grin Are you scared again that English is another one of your racist plagues?

Horus:

There's no ORDER in those verses. There were judgements pronounced on those who flagrantly disobey God's Word. Did you just say English is a problem to you?  grin

Yes, and where is the "ORDER" for them to become cannibals?

Like I said, if God had commanded or "ORDERED" me as a Christian to be a cannibal, I'd sooner seek you out and clean your bones to the marrow with my molars.  Are you up to the challenge? grin  cheesy

Now, why have you artfully dodged the questions asked about your "black jesus"?? Is it that he's so banal in your rants that you decided to abandon him? Here again are the questions:

Cannibalism in the Bible

Deuteronomy 28:53-57 (also Lev 26:29)
Because of the suffering that your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you. Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children, and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating. It will be all he has left because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of all your cities. The most gentle and sensitive woman among you - so sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to touch the ground with the sole of her foot - will begrudge the husband she loves and her own son or daughter the afterbirth from her womb and the children she bears. For she intends to eat them secretly during the siege and in the distress that your enemy will inflict on you in your cities.

2 Kings 6:26-29

As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, "Help me, my lord the king!"

The king replied, "If the Lord does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?" Then he asked her, "What's the matter?"

She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.' So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, 'Give up your son so we may eat him,' but she had hidden him."

Jeremiah 19:9 (also Ezek 5:10)

I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another's flesh during the stress of the siege imposed on them by the enemies who seek their lives.

Lamentations 4:10

With their own hands compassionate women
have cooked their own children,
who became their food
when my people were destroyed.

John 6:53-56

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.

Matt. 26:26 -28

"And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
-------------------

Mark 14:22

"And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many."
-------------------

Luke 22:19 & 20

"And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you."
-------------------

1 Cor. 11:23 -26

"For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come."
------------------

Acts 2:46

"And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart."
------------------

1 Cor. 10:16

"The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?

The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?"
------------------

John 6:57 & 58

"As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever."
------------------

Heb. 3:14 & 15

"For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; While it is said,

To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts,

as in the provocation."

BREAD is symbolic of the Body of Christ - we eat the bread in the Supper: is that cannibalism, Horus?

The Fruit of the Vine in the Cup is symbolic of His Blood - we drink of that Cup in the Supper: is that cannibalism, Horus?

Deuteronomy 28:1-2ff - The Promises

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Deuteronomy 28:15ff - The Judgements

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

QUESTION: Where did God command people to eat their flesh and drink their blood?

Horus:

2 Kings 6:26-29

As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, "Help me, my lord the king!"

The king replied, "If the Lord does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?" Then he asked her, "What's the matter?"

She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.' So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, 'Give up your son so we may eat him,' but she had hidden him."

QUESTION: Where did God command people to eat their flesh and drink their blood in those verses?

Horus:

Jeremiah 19:9 (also Ezek 5:10)

I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another's flesh during the stress of the siege imposed on them by the enemies who seek their lives.

Jeremiah 19:1-3 - The Judgement Pronounced

Thus saith the LORD, Go and get a potter's earthen bottle, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests; And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee,
And say, Hear ye the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle.

Jeremiah 9:15 - The Reason for the Judgement

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.

This is why I offered earlier that disobedience issues forth in judgement; and obedience issues forth in blessings.

Horus:

Lamentations 4:10

With their own hands compassionate women
have cooked their own children,
who became their food
when my people were destroyed.

As a result of their disobedience, the proscribed judgement certainly fell on them.

Lamentatons 4:13 & 14

For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her, They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

QUESTION: Where did God command people to eat their flesh and drink their blood in those verses?

@ Stimulus & Horus

Hmmmm!

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Thank You. cool

i learnt that it is God's commandment to give despite the abuse of the issue. Paul commended the Corinthian congregation to give cheerfuly without grudges.

As believers we are biblically commanded to give to;

    - God
    - men of God who share the word with us
    - the poor and the needy
    - to missions and outreaches that bless us or that we appreciate the work they do.

How could Jonah survive three days in the belly of a “whale”??
This is one of the Bible stories most ridiculed by people who consider themselves sophisticated christian and intellectual. Skeptics say that no whale could swallow a man in the first place, and, even if he did, the man would certainly never survive three days and three nights in his belly, as the Bible claims.
"Christian liberals" have attempted to avoid this problem by saying that the story of Jonah was only an allegory and was never meant to be understood as actual history. However, whenever the Bible writers used allegories or parables or other symbolic stories, they always either said so or else made it evident in the context. The book of Jonah is certainly written as though it were actual history. Jonah was a real prophet who is mentioned also in II Kings 14:25. None of the ancient Jews or early Christians ever doubted the authenticity and historicity of the book of Jonah and its story

A Story:

A man came down the subway and saw a beggar asking for food. He had about a dozen bagels with him and he gave two to the beggar.

As he continued on his journey, he looked back and to his amazement, saw the beggar calling his fellow beggar and gave him one of the bagels.

He was astonished. He began to wonder, how can a beggar, instead of saving the bagel for next time, still be so generous as to share the only food he possesses.

He wondered, how many things has God given me in the past and how have I thanked him for it?

That was his turning point. He became born again and now he is a deacon in the church.

The meassage I got (Different messages to be learnt but this is the one i got) - Our lives should be our testimony. Its not just preaching with our tongues, but, you can change a lot more people by the way you live and love them than by your word of mouth.

I learn a lot in from the bible everyday and I always look forward to going to church on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays because I wish to learn more there.

And to all of you who have condemned the bible, or God or going to church, what has come over you all that you raise and discuss this kind of topics on this forum?

The ultimate aim of any human being; immaterial of any earthly achievement whatsoever; I believe, should be the salvation of your soul. Whatever you believe in that will give you salvation is none of any body's businesss, but yours.

If you like, believe that a tree, or a dog, or a stone will give you salvation, (then that is the god you believe in), however, as for me and my household, we will surely serve and worship the Lord God Almighty.

If you want to know this almighty God, then go and read your bible.

N.B I used to engage in this stupidity and fallacy of querying the bible and questioning God many years ago together with a cousin of mine who is a PHD Holder in Engineering. It led both of us nowhere.

Now, I know that God is the ultimate source of power and Him and His word (the bible; which by the way, He honours even above His name), therein lies all the answers to man's life problems, including all the blasphemous nonsense some people have written in this thread.

The power and mystery of your mind
It' actually how you position your mind that you act
If you position your mind that everybody in your family is poor, therefore it's of no use making efforts since you would end up being poor, you actually remain poor.
But on the other hand if you make up your mind that no matter what your other family members are going through you are going to make it,you end up being on top
So be wise and make the right decisions

I learnt that the month of June is the month to take time and restrategise for the rest of the year,  it is a time to take a look at what we have done in the first half of the year and make the necessery adjustments to make the second half better. It is not about just finishing the year but finishing the year well,  working towards being the people that God wants us to be. Half time is usualy a time to replan, refuel and rebuild,  Take time to pray more and seek the face of God concerning the rest of the year,

And to all of you who have condemned the bible, or God or going to church, what has come over you all that you raise and discuss this kind of topics on this forum?

Please ask them.  undecided

But, "the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits." (Daniel 11:32) - my meditation this morning!  cheesy
