@pitodenz,
You're welcome anytime. Looks like I finally got my hands on the Zain config stuff.
Will call you later in the day to discuss.

@Blakstars,
I checked the strong website and the new 4663X is there. Apart from the change
in face design, there is no new addition to its features.

@Prince77,
Deeper life frequency on eutelsat w3a is still 11001 V, 3210 SR and has not changed.
Only it seems they don't do live transmission as frequently as before.

Wait till Monday evenings as from 7pm and try that tp above. You may be lucky.

@ all.
just a little of brainstorming here.
two receiver systems with nose figure ratings 0.9dB and one of 0.3dB, which has the best perfomance?How would you relate these values to their ability filter your signal from the noise?
Your time starts now!

The more I look at STRONG brand of receivers and their interfaces, the more they look like CoolSat receivers here in North America. It seems to me that Coolsat is Marketing their products in other parts world as "STRONG." Just a thought. wink

The key to db noise ratio is this; The lower the noise ratio, the better the receiver processes the signal received. Therefore, a .3db rating is better than a 0.9db rating. I hope this helps. smiley

IF YOU ARE IN PORT HARCOURT READ THIS:

1. 90cm dish will never give you the type of program you may want to watch.
2. 90cm dish are mainly use by paytv's like mytv africa,dstv,hitv and trendtv.
3. If you wish for better program you may need from 1.8m dish and above.
4. 1.8m and 2.4m mesh dish are mostly enjoyed if they re motorized.
5. if for any reason you re not satify with channels and programs in your motorized setup like most people complained,then
6. Safe yourself the motorized setup stress and money for jack and positioner and go for
7. 2.4m pan dish or 3m mesh dish for fixed satellite like nile or arabsat.
Since nilesat is a very big problem in niger delta region even with 6m dish,i hereby advice us all to go for badr 3/4 generally know as arabsat. If you manage to get a very good signal in your nilesat installation,any little change in wheather you stand to lose your favourite program untill the wheather clear. Badr is one satellite that has all the nilesat channels apart from pakages like showtime,art and jsc+. Badr has all the mbc in one tp,fox movie and series,bbc and cnn,mtv arabia and so on.
So why spend so much money in purchasing comstar 2.4m mesh dish whereby at the end of the day most people ll be looking for 24hrs entainment.
I ve had so many complain about mbc uae and now u can ve it all with 2.4m dish in ph so the choice is yours.

@Oga Marshal,george_d, is the new strng 4663x a pvr? because in the old 1 in d markt, there is recordng option usng external hdd. Somewhere in the menu. And On the panel, there's an unmounted pins(42pin holes spaces for IDE pins 2enter. If it could b moded like ps2, then i'll b first 2 carry out d surgery.

Indeed Coolsat, Technomate, Clark-Tech, Strong all belong to one family and sometimes even have the same/similar GUI and external casing (though, importantly, their softwares are not identical). It seems they are all made (normally?) by a company called Hubtech which operates mostly out of Korea (and possibly/allegedly also out of China or something).
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 8:41pm On Jun 10, 2009
@niddle_9,
adewest seems to be on official duty away from the country. I'm sure he will let the house
know when he's back.

Strong 4663x is definitey a pvr decoder using an external HDD.

@pito,
Your info on dish sizes was quite revealing. I agree with you that badr is the next satellite
of choice for those having problems with nilesat this rainy season. I was almost tempted to
make the switch a few weeks back when I was struggling with my own installation. But since
everything is ok now, I've decided to stay put with nilesat for now.

@ekonibaje,
Your signal strenght is fantastic o! But since you're using a 4.4m dish, I think it is not surprising.
Did you get any tp on AB4a? If so, what is the signal quality of the various tps?

Comrade Badaru1 has given us the tp in which u can get Badr:

For badr use this TP 11013H 27500 or 11054 27500H. In the north u can get them with 1.8m dish prefarable fixed. Quoted on page 55 on this recent session

@ all the freq 11013 and 11054 posted for the tracking of badr4/6 should not be mistaken for badr. The freqs re for orbit pakages in eurobird 2 @ 25.5' and all the channels re encrypted except cnn and one other channel. @ adewest welcome back.
