when someone gives birth to a British citizen, does the govt pay that child any money, because my bro that just got his UK residency was telling me he got some huge amount of money to get from the govt now that his documents are ready, he was saying its about 110 pounds a week and the child will soon be 3 yrs old, pls its not as if i am doubting him but i want to be sure if this info is correct,

Your Brother's Solicitor is right, children of Asylum seekers under the Geneva Convention are not subjected to any backdating rules so if the Government takes 20 years to decide their Parents asylum claim, all the Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit has to be paid. Your Brother and his wife too would be entitled to a few thousands from Income Support and ESA, less the Asylum support allowance they have already received subject to them fulfilling some not-so-strict condition, so yeah, your Brother is right that he is expecting some windfall of around that amount or more sef

I don't think that the £110 is for the child benefit alone, it may include some other little little benefits pple claim here, rent, council tax. . .etc
