Shebi una want change?. . . Oya see the change

This na just for VICE president ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Why You should be Nigeria’s vice-president

Without saying so, and perhapsinadvertently, a national daily on Monday, December 27, 2010 told Nigerians why people who had tasted the presidential position would want to perpetuate themselves in office, even if as a vice president. If you knew the budget for the latter’s office, you would be dazed.

It is only brooms that are not budgeted for and you should, therefore, start dreaming of becoming Nigeria’s vice president.

That will fetch you, apart from your salary and allowance, N500m for food (reviewable annually); N553,549,442 for canteen/kitchen equipment; N403, 594, 442 for kitchen and household equipment (which may include broom); N150m for your residential household equipment and materials (which may include serviettes); N263, 514, 587 for utilities (which may include dusters); N2, 014, 658,355 (more than N2bn) for travel and transport; N2, 847, 709, 086 (close to N3bn) for maintenance services (which may include oiling your motorcycle); N197, 700,000 for fuel and lubricants (e.g. gasoline and grease);N85, 747( 680 for consultancy and professional services (e.g. mechanics); about N54m for fuelling of plant/generator (since the house and office may be in perpetual darkness); NI, 614, 315, 741 (more than Nlbn) for materials and supplies (which may include toothbrush and hand-kerchiefs); N338, 045, 242 for training (e.g. the cook); N53, 830, 000 for loans and advances (e.g. for unemployed loyalists).

You will get N30m for office furniture and fittings (reviewable annually), and N428m for computers (reviewable annually). That is not the end of the earthly paradise. Read the full story of the wonderland, the target of your dream, in the referred paper.

In the final analysis, it is capped with NI, 033, 853, 106 (more than Nlbn) for miscellaneous expenses.
You now see why the presidency and the legislators are flocking together for re-entrenchment in 2011, since the struggle is not about building the nation, but milking the cow.

I, nevertheless, advise you not to veer into the struggle for the presidential position (even though that is juicier than any other one), unless you have the stamina for stiffer intrigue, or you can take it cool like Gen Muhammadu Buhari. But he is doing that because he is not desperate. I like him because he surrounds himself with pro-people forces, and he is not known for corruption in all his public service, including his about two years as Nigeria’s head of state.

He is very much unlike our money-bag ex-rulers.

Dr Pius Oyeniran Abioje,
Unilorin,
Kwara State.

All these we know.

Any positive action on our part? What can we do to stop them?

Now that they have told us they want to increase fuel price come January, can we start planing a counter measure? Can Nairaland forum stand and be counted as the forum that laid the foundation for the liberation of Nigeria?

How do we start?

Let start planing on a march in Lagos come January if they dare increase fuel price? Let go about printing polo's, cap's etc. for protest come January. Just a peaceful protest like the one happening in US. The business men among us can even make a small living out the sales from the protest items.

Thank God the ACN opposition party will find it convenient to protect us.

I thought about this, because I know the labour unions lack the sincerity to challenge the government. I witnessed how Oshimole sold us off during his days. I see Oshimole with his shortcomings better than these crop of labour leaders we have.

Each of us is a leader that can liberate Nigeria. Let us rise and make a change. This is an opportunity. The masses will be on our support because it is biting all.

If we can pull this through, generations after us will be proud of us.

I am not surprise, it could be more than that amount but for God sake N1.6 a day multiply by 30days =N48m not to even talk of his monthly salary and diversion from other sources of the economy. Now, the electorate, N18k minimum wage is now a problem, Fuel subsidy is being taking away from us what do we have left? Father in heaven please give us our daily Bread and even fuel from Heaven because our leaders have all deny us this. Thank you Father

I can only say its good to be in Aso Rock. Lol!
What we haven't considered though is the number of staff those figures cover. State house is a very big place housing hundreds of people and employing thousands from soldiers, police, SSS to cooks, cleaners, secretaries etc and having all sorts of different offices. Its like feeding a town.
