Celebrities / 5 Most Popular Record Labels In Nigeria- NSC by Nigerianschools: 8:09am On Jul 22, 2013
The Nigerian music industry has over the years contributed vastly to the country’s socio economic development.

Apart from generating direct employment for thousands of young people, the sector, which is a subset of a buoyant entertainment, arts and culture industry, also puts money into the pockets of a large pool of stakeholders.

The industry is sustained in many parts by units and sub units, which spearheads its growth and challenges the system to ensure everyone is happy.

Key to the cycle of sustaining the Nigerian music industry, are record labels, whose job primarily over the years, has been to keep the industry afloat.

Mavin Records

Founded in 2012 by one of the country’s most respected music producers Don Jazzy, Mavin Records is home to some of Nigeria’s top rated acts.

Wande Coal, DR SID, D Prince and Tiwa Savage are all signed to the label.

Mavin was formed after the relationship between Don Jazzy and fellow associate D Banj went sour and both parties went their separate ways.

Mohits Records, which was being co-run by both artistes and used to a be a popular label back then, folded up, paving the way for Jazzy to branch out on his own. Although relatively young, the clout of its owner and artistes has ensured that within a relatively shorter time, it’s become extremely popular.

Its first compilation – Solar Plexus – was released to critical acclaim

Chocolate City

Arguably the most talked about label in Nigeria over the last few years, Chocolate City until the recent departures of Brymo and Jesse Jagz, had what could pass for an all-star team of artistes.

But even after losing two of its highly commercial acts, the label is still lucky to have in its fold M.I, one of Africa’s biggest rap acts, and BET-winner Ice Prince.

Other acts include DJ Caise, singer Nosa and Victoria Kimani, who is the first act to be signed under the label’s extension drive into Kenya – East Africa.

The label has partnered with numerous institutions locally and internationally, and is seen as a shining example of how labels should be managed.

It has affiliate offices dotted across the world, and also operates a group of entertainment sub divisions including Chocolate City Media and Chocolate City Distribution.

DB Records

New and fresh to the world of record labels, DB Records is owned by international act D Banj. Its core business includes artist management, content generation and distribution as well as general management.

DB becomes the second most recent label D Banj has worked on personally after the Mohits fiasco.

It is an independent entity that is operated separately from Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music, which he is affiliated to.

D Banj’s younger brother Kay Switch (who also sings), Dee Vee, Isoul, and Jay Sleek are also signed onto the label.

The label is being positioned to “become the market leader in its service provision.”

Kennis Music

One of the pioneer labels responsible for the growth of Nigerian music across the world, Kennis Music is by far, the country’s most popular label of the last decade.

Its original owners Kenny Ogugbe and Dayo Adeneye were able to sustain the label’s growth, creating stars out of many of the country’s acts, the most popular being 2Face.

It has also worked with the likes of Sir Shina Peters, Sound Sultan, and Tony Tetuila, among others, and is responsible for producing the last few singles of the late reality show star and singer Goldie.

Trybe Records

Owned and bankrolled by eLDee, Trybe Records was founded in the late nineties (1998/1999) as an offshoot of the group Trybesmen, which he formed with fellow high school mate Kaboom.

Over the last fourteen years, it has played home to young, upcoming artistes; it continues to be a breeding ground for talents.

Female act Sasha, and Dr. Sid, who is now with Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, as well as OlaDele and 2shots are some of the well-known names Trybes has worked with.

Currently signed to Trybes is Afro-soul singer Aramide, R&B singer Sojay, Hip-hop act Rukus, K9 and talented producer SARZ.

Politics / Top Most Corrupt Countries In Africa by Nigerianschools: 4:47pm On Jun 05, 2013
It should come as no surprise that some of the world’s most most politically, economically, and socially unstable countries are also the most corrupt.

Transparency International published a list of the world’s countries and ranked them according to their levels of corruption.

So in Africa here are the top 13 most corrupt countries:

13. Cameroon

On Jan. 18, President Paul Biya launched an anti-corruption drive, just two weeks after sacking two magistrates accused of bribery--the first such action in 23 years of rule, though it's had an anti-corruption body in place for eight years. The nation remains a thoroughly closed society with little transparency, though the media is more likely to report on corruption in the past. According to Transparency International, oil revenues no longer go directly into accounts controlled by the president, but into the state budget, but for the first time, oil reserves and production are falling and Biya recognizes he must plan for reduction of oil revenues not increases.

12. Niger

Little has been done to erase the legacy of the military coup that was in power or the violent repression of subsequent attempts to change rulers. Last September, Amnesty International protested the arrest of two leading Niger journalists who'd published details of the skimming of international donor funds.

11. Angola

Africa's OPEC member continues to siphon large quantities of cash from its oil production into the pockets of senior government officials and for use in sweetheart arms deals, used to attack rebel elements that continue their campaigns of violence and to help the dictator Robert Mugabe remain in power in neighboring Zimbabwe.

10. Republic of Congo Brazzaville

Still in the hands of one of Africa's many corrupt dictators, in this case Denis Sassou Nguesso, with more opposition at home he has begun paying lip-service to creation of an anti-corruption campaign while he and a number of his lieutenants continue to skim funds, particularly from oil shipments through the port of Pointe-Noire. Some time ago, the government arrested anti-corruption advocate Christian Mounzeo when he returned home to Brazzaville after criticizing publicly in Europe the government's misuse of oil revenue.

9. Kenya

Since the resignation of anti-corruption czar John Githongo, some years ago, corruption has persisted in Kenya, but international monitors now suggest that, "People are much more careful about it, they have to obey due process." The World Bank has embarked on a $120 million East African Trade and Transport Facilitation Project aimed to improve efficiency of supply chains and curb corruption using detailed audits and reviews. It remains to be seen how effective such projects can be.

8. Nigeria

Nigeria has bounced off the bottom of the most corrupt nations list due to a determined effort by the past President, Olusegun Obasanjo. The president named an Economic Crimes Bureau, which, under the leadership of a small group of top officials has prosecuted several government officials, forcing them from office, and begun monthly publication of budget figures on the national level and in 33 states and 700 local government authorities. Compared with seven years ago, Transparency International reports, progress is being made.

7. Sierra Leone

While the government has created an "anti-corruption commision" and a Web site declaring Dec. 9 "anti-corruption day," 95% of all residents said in a poll that, "Corruption is rampant in most government departments." One of the world's leading producers of gem-quality diamonds, the horrific toll of traffic in illicit stones won Leonardo di Caprio an Oscar nomination for the film Blood Diamond, set in the country and detailing the outrages of this corrupt and often deadly industry.

6. Cote d'Ivoire

Another African nation where there are many successful agribusinesses, particularly producing pineapples and palm oil, that operate effectively under the general understanding that a certain percentage of their profits go directly into the pockets of the nation's ruling elite.

5. Equatorial Guinea

One of the world's smallest oil powers, it is also among the most corrupt. Still, possibly under pressure from the major oil companies that operate there, particularly Exxon Mobil, things have improved a trifle, though the corrupt President Teodoro Obiang Nguema remains in power. Now, though, it's becoming possible to operate a business on a reasonable basis, provided one accepts that 30% of all funds, including oil profits go straight into the pocket of Nguema. Still, the system of corruption now is more rational and orderly than the previous system that amounted to near-total anarchy.

4. Chad

Chad has dropped down from the list this year as international aid agencies, particularly the World Bank, have sought to come to grips with one of the world's most piggish uses of philanthropic funds. Proceeds of a Chad- Cameroon oil pipeline, funded in part by the World Bank and operated by an Exxon Mobil-led consortium, were supposed to have been used to help feed the desperately poor people of both nations. Instead, at least $30 million was diverted to buy arms to keep the government of President Idriss Deby in power. The World Bank was deeply embarrassed by the fiasco, halted funding more than a year ago, but reached an accord with Chad last year. According to TI officials, the jury's still out on how effectively it will be implemented.

3. Democratic Republic Congo/Kinshasa

Copper in Katanga, and in the rest of the country, gold, uranium and especially coltan, a rare mineral that's in every cell phone chip, still drive the corruption that remains rampant in this African nation. The president is the principal recipient of routine payments by the mining companies who apparently are prepared to play the very lucrative payoff game that remains as endemic now as it was back during the regime of one of Africa's historically most corrupt leaders, Mobutu Sese-Seko.

2. Sudan

The key event was the switch from a Canadian company that dominated oil drilling in Sudan, the No. 3 oil producer in Africa, to a Chinese company that took over the contract after the Canadians found corruption and an outrageous human rights record was too rife to be able to continue functioning. China is now responsible for 90% of all oil production in Sudan, which also controls oil flow down a large pipeline through southern Sudan to the sea. Chinese officials have declined any comment on the human rights situation, and TI officials say they are "not too worried about having to pay off the Khartoum government."

1. Guinea (Conakry)

Guinea has been in a political crisis state for at least three years. Though the current, corrupt president has been in power for 20 years, strong pressure has been building from the public for a change of regime. A public strike that lasted one month finally ended a month ago. There was outright civil strife, obliging the president to appoint a new prime minister. The most controversial, and corrupt, deals surround the mining sector, particularly aluminum. Among foreign businessmen, the general view, according to the TI survey, was that to do business in Guinea you needed "to pay off the guy at the top."

Politics / 10 Most Corrupt Countries In The World by Nigerianschools: 12:35pm On Jun 01, 2013
Corruption is a process that occurs because of the human nature to take easy ways out and desire to achieve personal benefits from whatever means possible.

It occurs because of self-interest and nothing more. Some say even that the corruption is a disease for every society making it suffer from to a certain extent. The corrupt activities by governments or individuals as well have a huge presence in the changes of the world economy.

The most corrupt countries are often the most politically, socially and economically unstable countries, so the International Transparency every year publishes a list of the world’s most corrupted countries according to their levels of corruption. Their level of corruption is measured by the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) that bases on how corrupt their political and administrative institutions are. They are being evaluated on a scale from 0 (highly corrupt) and a 100 (very clean). With no further ado, let’s see the top corrupt countries.

9. Uzbekistan

The most corrupt of the five former Soviet Republics on our list, Uzbekistan is sinking ever deeper into corruption and unrest--in constant turmoil and strife under what the U.S. State Department describes as the authoritarian rule of President Islam Karimov, a communist apparatchik holdover of the old regime, which, while violently suppressing opposition, encourages corruption that permeates society, including the executive branch. Bribery will win you everything from admission to leading educational institutions to a favorable outcome of traffic cases and civil lawsuits.

8. Bangladesh

There continues to be a general lack of engagement between the government and civil society as repression, corruption throughout government ranks and especially in the judiciary and political circles persists, often spilling over into the private sector. In March, the new military-backed government jailed at least 40 prominent business and government leaders from two of the leading political parties in what was described as an ongoing probe of corruption, but TI officials are little impressed. Still, after five straight years at the top of the list, Bangladesh has signed the United Nations convention against corruption and has now dropped to No. 8.

7. Chad

Chad has dropped from No. 1 to No. 7 this year as international aid agencies, particularly the World Bank, have sought to come to grips with one of the world's most piggish uses of philanthropic funds. The World Bank, whose president, Paul Wolfowitz, was deeply embarrassed by the fiasco, halted funding more than a year ago, but reached an accord with Chad last July. According to TI officials, the jury's still out on how effectively it will be implemented.

6. Democratic Republic Congo/Kinshasa

Copper in Katanga, and in the rest of the country, gold, uranium and especially coltan, a rare mineral that's in every cell phone chip, still drive the corruption that remains rampant in this African nation. A presidential election did little to stop the corruption or the resulting violence that erupted again last month in downtown Kinshasha, the nation's capital. The president is the principal recipient of routine payments by the mining companies who apparently are prepared to play the very lucrative payoff game that remains as endemic now as it was back during the regime of one of Africa's historically most corrupt leaders, Mobutu Sese-Seko.

3. Iraq

Huge quantities of funds-- especially American military and reconstruction aid funds--swirling through this nation, where many civil structures have largely broken down, is a recipe for corruption at all levels. Beyond kidnappings and ransom payments, TI officials say their survey was conducted in the first half of 2006 when funds being handled by the Coalition Provisional Authority were largely exhausted and no longer being disbursed. So the Iraqi government, where corruption is said to be rampant, was in charge of its own funds. International businessmen from a range of countries converging on Baghdad found finance, export credits, contracts and a host of more mundane functions of government all subject to illicit payments.

2. Myanmar

Corruption is perceived as widespread in this vicious dictatorship run with an iron hand by a strong-willed clique of military leaders, who persist in repression of civil society at every level. Illicit facilitation payments and informal fees are required to access even the most basic government services.

1. Haiti

The police continue to be a central factor in corruption in Haiti, though there is corruption in virtually every governmental body. Since the police are also the officials closest to every individual on a daily basis, it is their corruption that changes the nature of daily life in Haiti, permeating all society and the way business is done.

Family / The 10 Worst Places To Be A Mother by Nigerianschools: 7:27pm On May 12, 2013
According to the Annual Save Our Children Mother's Index, the ten worst places to be a mother are all in Africa. The Index, which is in its 14th year, looks at multiple factors when comprising the list - including death in pregnancy and childbirth as well as hardships faced by mothers after they give birth.

The bottom 10 are
Ivory Coast
Chad
Nigeria
Gambia
Central African Republic
Niger
Mali
Sierra Leone
Somalia
Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The scores are put together based on child mortality, maternal health, education, women's income and women's political status. In the African countries which appear in the bottom 10 of the list, the outlook for mothers is poor as they one in seven of them is likely to lose a child under the age of five, while one in 30 of them is likely to die of a complication arising from pregnancy.

According to the report, "Babies in Somalia have the highest risk of dying on their birth day. First-day death rates are almost as high in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, and Sierra Leone. Mothers in these four countries are also at high risk on this day. Mothers in Somalia and Sierra Leone face the second and third highest lifetime risk of maternal death in the world, respectively."

The report continues, "Maternal, child and newborn death rates have declined across the developing world since 1990, but progress has been slowest in sub-Saharan Africa. Save the Children’s annual Mothers’ Index assesses the well-being of mothers and children in 176 countries. The bottom 10 countries on the Mothers’ Index are all in sub-Saharan Africa. Not surprisingly, many of these same countries also have very high rates of first-day death, and sub-Saharan Africa also occupies the 10 worst spots on the Birth Day Risk Index. Seven countries – Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Sierra Leone and Somalia – score in the bottom 10 on both indices."

Religion / Top 9 Secret Societies In The World by Nigerianschools: 1:41pm On May 09, 2013
Through history there have been many secret societies and conspiracy theories about those societies. This is a list of the most famous and popular secret societies or alleged secret societies.

Skull and Bones
The Order of Skull and Bones, a Yale University society, was originally known as the Brotherhood of Death. It is one of the oldest student secret societies in the United States. It was founded in 1832 and membership is open to an elite few. The society uses masonic inspired rituals to this day. Members meet every Thursday and Sunday of each week in a building they call the “Tomb”.According to Judy Schiff, Chief Archivist at the Yale University Library, the names of the members were not kept secret until the 1970s, but the rituals always have been. Both of the Bush presidents were members of the society while studying at Yale, and a number of other members have gone on to great fame and fortune. The society is surrounded by conspiracy theories; the most popular of which is probably the idea that the CIA was built on members from the group. The CIA released a statement in 2007 (coinciding with the popularity of the film The Good Shepherd) in which it denied that the group was an incubator for the CIA. You can read that document here.

Freemasons
The Grand Masonic Lodge was created in 1717 when four small groups of lodges joined together. Membership levels were initially first and second degree, but in the 1750s this was expanded to create the third degree which caused a split in the group. When a person reaches the third degree, they are called a Master Mason.Masons conduct their regular meetings in a ritualized style. This includes many references to architectural symbols such as the compass and square. They refer to God as “The Great Architect of the Universe”. The three degrees of Masonry are: 1: Entered Apprentice, this makes you a basic member of the group. 2: Fellow Craft, this is an intermediate degree in which you are meant to develop further knowledge of Masonry. 3: Master Mason, this degree is necessary for participating in most masonic activities. Some rites (such as the Scottish rite) list up to 33 degrees of membership.Masons use signs and handshakes to gain admission to their meetings, as well as to identify themselves to other people who may be Masons. The signs and handshakes often differ from one jurisdiction to another and are often changed or updated. This protects the group from people finding out how to gain admission under false pretenses. Masons also wear stylized clothing based upon the clothing worn by stone masons from the middle ages. The most well known of these is the apron. In order to become a Mason, you must generally be recommended by a current mason. In some cases you must be recommended three times before you can join. You have to be at least 18 years old and of sound mind. Many religions frown upon membership of the Masons, and the Roman Catholic Church forbids Catholics to join under pain of excommunication.

Rosicrucians
The Rosicrucian order is generally believed to have been the idea of a group of German protestants in the 1600s when a series of three documents were published: Fama Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis, Confessio Fraternitatis, and The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz anno 1459. The documents were so widely read and influential, that the historian Frances Yeats refers to the 17th century as the Rosicrucian Enlightenment. The first document tells the story of a mysterious alchemist (Christian Rosenkreuz) who travelled to various parts of the world gathering secret knowledge. The second document tells of a secret brotherhood of alchemists who were preparing to change the political and intellectual face of Europe. The third document describes the invitation of Christian Rosenkreuz to attend and assist at the “Chemical” wedding of a King and Queen in a castle of Miracles.Current members of the Rosicrucian Order claim that its origins are far more ancient than these documents. The authors of the documents seemed to strongly favor Lutheranism and include condemnations of the Catholic Church. Rosicrucianism probably had an influence on Masonry and, in fact, the 18th degree of Scottish Rite Masonry is called the Knight of the Rose Croix (red cross). There are a large number of Rosicrucian groups today – each claiming to be closely tied to the original. Of the two main divisions, one is a mix of Christianity with Rosicrucian principles, and the other is semi-Masonic. The Masonic type tend to also have degrees of membership.

Ordo Templis Orientis
The OTO (Order of the Temples of the East) is an organization that was originally modeled on Masonry but, under the leadership of the self-styled “Great Beast” Aleister Crowley, it took on the principles of his religious system called Thelema. Thelema is based around a single law: “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law, love is the law, love under the will” [1904]. Membership is based upon degrees of initiation and highly stylized rituals are used. The OTO currently claims over 3,000 members worldwide.Crowley created a “Mass” for the OTO which is called the Gnostic Mass. Of the “Mass”, Crowley wrote:

“I resolved that my Ritual should celebrate the sublimity of the operation of universal forces without introducing disputable metaphysical theories. I would neither make nor imply any statement about nature which would not be endorsed by the most materialistic man of science. On the surface this may sound difficult; but in practice I found it perfectly simple to combine the most rigidly rational conceptions of phenomena with the most exalted and enthusiastic celebration of their sublimity.”The ritual is very stylized and uses virgin priestesses, children, and priests. Many Ancient Egyptian God’s are invoked, as well as the Devil, and at one point the priestess performs a naked ritual.

Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn
The order of the Golden Dawn was created by Dr. William Robert Woodman, William Wynn Westcott, and Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers. All three were Freemasons and members of Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (an organization with ties to Masonry). It is considered by many to be a forerunner of the Ordo Templi Orientis and a majority of modern Occult groups. The belief system of the Golden Dawn is largely taken from Christian mysticism, Qabalah, Hermeticism, the religion of Ancient Egypt, Freemasonry, Alchemy, Theosophy, Magic, and Renaissance writings. William Yeats, and Aleister Crowly are two of the more famous members of the group. The fundamental documents of the order are known as the Cipher Documents. These were translated into English using a cipher attributed to Johannes Trithemius. The documents are a series of 60 folios containing magic rituals. The basic structure of many of these rituals appear to originate with Rosicrucianism. There is a great deal of controversy surrounding the origins of these documents.

The Knights Templar
The Knights Templar (full name: The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta) is a modern off-shoot of Masonry and does not have a direct tie to the original Knights Templar – a religious military group formed in the 12th century. Members of the Masonic Knights Templar do not claim a direct connection to the medieval group, but merely a borrowing of ideas and symbols. In order to become a member of this group, you must already be a Christian Master Mason. This organization is a distinct one, and is not just a higher degree of Masonry. Despite Freemasonry’s general disclaimer that no one Masonic organization claims a direct heritage to the medieval Knights Templar, certain degrees and orders are obviously patterned after the medieval Order. These are best described as “commemorative orders” or degrees. Nevertheless, in spite of the fraternity’s official disclaimers, some Masons, non-Masons, and even anti-Masons insist that certain Masonic rites or degrees originally had direct Templar influence.

The Illuminati
A movement of freethinkers that were the most radical offshoot of The Enlightenment — whose followers were given the name Illuminati (but who called themselves “Perfectibilists”) — was founded on May 1, 1776 in Ingolstadt (Upper Bavaria), by Jesuit-taught Adam Weishaupt. This group is now known as the Bavarian Illuminati. While it was not legally allowed to operate, many influential intellectuals and progressive politicians counted themselves as members. Even though there were some known Freemasons in the membership, it was not considered to be endorsed by Masonry. The fact that the Illuminati did not require a belief in a supreme being made them particularly popular amongst atheists. This, and the fact that most members were humanists, is the reason for the widespread belief that the Illuminati wants to overthrow organized religion.Internal panic over the succession of a new leader, and government attempts to outlaw the group saw to it collapsing entirely in the late 1700s. Despite this, conspiracy theorists such as David Icke and Was Penre, have argued that the Bavarian Illuminati survived, possibly to this day, though very little reliable evidence can be found to support the idea that Weishaupt’s group survived into the 19th century. It has even been suggested that the Skull and Bones club is an American branch of the Illuminati. Many people believe that the Illuminati is still operating and managing the main actions of the governments of the world. It is believed that they wish to create a One World Government based on humanist and atheist principles.

The Bilderberg Group
This group is slightly different from the others in that it does not have an official membership. It is the name given to a group of highly influential people who meet ever year in secrecy (and usually with strong military and government sponsored security). The topics discussed are kept secret. The structure of the meetings is that of a conference – usually held in five star hotels around the world. Attendance at the meeting is strictly by invitation only. The first meeting took place in 1954 at the Hotel Bilderberg in the Netherlands. The original meeting was initiated by several people. Polish emigre and political adviser, Joseph Retinger, concerned about the growth of anti-Americanism in Western Europe, proposed an international conference at which leaders from European countries and the United States would be brought together with the aim of promoting understanding between the cultures of The United States of America and Western Europe.Although the agenda and list of participants are openly available to the public, it is not clear that such details are disclosed by the group itself. Also, the contents of the meetings are kept secret and attendees pledge not to divulge what was discussed. The group’s stated justification for secrecy is that it enables people to speak freely without the need to carefully consider how every word might be interpreted by the mass media.Needless to say, this group is constantly surrounded by controversy and conspiracy theories.

The Priory of Sion
After the publication of the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, a great deal of interest in the Priory of Sion has been created. Unfortunately for those hoping to find and join the Priory, it is, in fact, fictional. It was a hoax created in 1956 by a pretender to the French Throne, Pierre Plantard. Letters in existence dating from the 1960s written by Plantard, de Cherisey and de Sède to each other confirm that the three were engaging in an out-and-out confidence trick, describing schemes on how to combat criticisms of their various allegations and how they would make up new allegations to try to keep the whole thing going. Despite this, many people still continue to believe that the Priory exists and functions to this day.The authors of the well known book, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, misled by the hoax, stated:

1. The Priory of Sion has a long history starting in AD 1099, and had illustrious Grand Masters including Isaac Newton and Leonardo da Vinci.

2. The order protects certain royal claimants because they believe them to be the literal descendants of Jesus and his alleged wife Mary Magdalene or, at the very least, of king David.

3. The priory seeks the founding of a “Holy European Empire” that would become the next hyperpower and usher in a new world order of peace and prosperity.

Health / Watching Porn May 'shut Down' Part Of Your Brain by Nigerianschools: 11:52am On May 07, 2013
Watching pornography would seem to be a vision-intensive task. But new research finds that looking at erotic movies can actually quiet the part of the brain that processes visual stimuli.

Most of the time, watching movies or conducting any other visual task sends extra blood flow to this brain region. Not so when the movies are explicit, the researchers found. Instead, the brain seems to shunt blood — and therefore energy — elsewhere, perhaps to regions of the brain responsible for sexual arousal.

Turns out, the brain may not need to take in all the visual details of a sex scene, said study researcher Gert Holstege, a uroneurologist at the University of Groningen Medical Center in the Netherlands.

"If you look, for example, at your computer and you have to write something or whatever, then you have to look specifically and carefully at what you're doing because if you don't, it means you make mistakes," Holstege said. "But the moment you are watching explicit sexual movies, that's not necessary, because you know exactly what's going on. It's not important that the door is green or yellow."

Scan results revealed that the high-intensity erotic video — and only the high-intensity erotic video — resulted in far less blood being sent to the primary visual cortex. The region is still active, just much less so. Usually, that effect is only seen when people are asked to conduct a nonvisual task, like remembering words, while also watching some sort of visual stimuli.

To Holstege, those results suggest that the brain is focusing on sexual arousal as more important than visual processing during these erotic films.

"You have to realize that the brain wants to spare as much energy as possible, so if some part of the brain is not necessary at a high level of functioning, it immediately goes down," Holstege said.

The findings have implications for sexual dysfunction, Holstege said, as they paint a picture of the brain in which safety is paramount and anxiety is a libido-killer.

significantly in product development. Among the products she helped developed was

Education / Five Ways To Make Your Scholarship Application Stand Out by Nigerianschools: 8:15pm On Apr 19, 2013
Applying for a scholarship can be a daunting task, particularly given that what’s at stake is financial support. Of course competition is often high and there will be a vast array of applicants, but this is no reason to feel disheartened. Follow the five tips below to make your scholarship stand out and give you a better chance of success.

1. Are you qualified?
Though this may sound like a fairly obvious point, it is important to bear in mind in order to avoid disappointments. As well as ensuring that you are qualified to apply, it is also worth searching for scholarships that are particularly suited to your place of study, specialty subject or unique hobby or extracurricular activity. This way, you will not only qualify, but will represent the ideal candidate for the scholarship.

2. Follow the instructions
Again, although this may seem like a fairly obvious point, assessors will automatically exclude any candidate who has failed to submit what is required within the time limit available. In order to avoid disappointment, make sure you read the guidelines, advice and instructions provided very carefully and understand precisely what is required and expected of you.

3. Create a game plan
You need to plan how you are going to respond to application forms and the like in advance. Ask trusted friends or relatives for advice as to which personal strengths and achievements you should highlight during the course of your application. These should be clear in your mind before you start the application process.

4. Do not be overly modest
Modesty is a laudable quality, but in order to shine you will have to learn to emphasise your strengths, accomplishments and positive attributes. The important thing to remember is to provide evidence for any claims you make: for example, if you claim to be a useful asset to the community, provide details of when and where you were involved in voluntary community activities. At the same time, try to avoid being arrogant. If an assessor asks you what your weaknesses are, do not claim you have none.

5. Get a second opinion
No matter how many times you have gone over your application, you will probably have missed something. Getting trusted friends, teachers or relatives with suitable skills to read over your applications, essays and any other additional documentation will allow you to correct mistakes and omissions you may have overlooked and that could possibly jeopardise your ap
plication.

Applying for scholarships is a competitive process, you can make your application stand out by researching scholarships carefully and following directions to the letter, pre-planning your responses, highlighting your strengths, and making use of trusted friends to get a second opinion. If you happen to have problems with getting accepted in the first scholarships you apply for don't worry! Don't lose faith and keep applying. Instead of just applying for scholarships you can try looking for a part-time job. Check your local free-classifieds website for job opportunities in your city and while you keep applying for scholarships in your free time, you can make some money and work experience while you wait.

Politics / Richest Countries In Africa According To Their GDP Only by Nigerianschools: 11:42pm On Apr 09, 2013
There has been lots of controversies ever since I posted this article 'Richest Countries in Africa According to their GDP'. Insulting words of all kinds have been used by some while others have just criticized both me and the Nigerian government.

Some were like 'WTH' is a war wrecked country like Equitorial Guinea doing on top of that list.

The thing is that some people just don't read and when they do read they don't understand. So for those wanting badly for Nigeria to be on a list, here's the list of the 'Richest Countries in Africa According to their GDP (Gross Domestic Product) only:

1. South Africa

GDP: $408.24 billion

2. Nigeria

GDP: $238.92 billion

3. Egypt

GDP: $229.5 billion

4. Algeria

GDP: $188.7 billion

5. Angola

GDP: $104.3 billion

6. Morocco

GDP: $100.2 billion

7. Sudan

GDP: $55.1 billion

8. Tunisia

GDP: $45.86 billion

9. Ghana

GDP: $39.2 billion

10. Libya

GDP: $36.87 billion

As you can see the top five countries in the formal list are no where to be found here. Confused? Guess you should have paid more attention to your Economics teacher.
For those that are still not satisfied and would like to see Nigeria on more lists, like someone said "Check the list of the most corrupt nations". Should probably come up with that list too  lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Politics / Richest Countries In Africa According To Their GDP Per Capita by Nigerianschools: 6:12pm On Apr 07, 2013
For those who don't know, Gross domestic product (GDP) is the “Total market value of the goods and services produced by a nation’s economy during a specific period of time.

GDP is customarily reported on an annual basis (yearly). It is defined to include all final goods and services – that is, those that are produced by the economic resources located in that nation regardless of their ownership and are not resold in any form.

While 'Per Capita' is commonly and usually used in the field of statistics in place of saying “for each person” or “per person”.

Now to the list:

1. Equatorial Guinea – GDP per capita: $30,200
2. Botswana – GDP per capita: $15,800
3. Gabon – GDP per capita: $14,900
4. Libya – GDP per capita: $14,900
5. Mauritius – GDP per capita: $12,400
6. South Africa – GDP per capita: $10,400
7. Angola – GDP per capita: $9,100
8. Tunisia – GDP per capita: $8,000
9. Algeria – GDP per capita: $7,100
10. Egypt – GDP per capita: $5,500

For those wondering where Nigeria is on the list or why she is not on the top 10.... Well that's because according to Wikipedia her GDP is $2500. After some people would say she is the 'GIANT OF AFRICA'

Culture / Taboo Rituals Still In Existence by Nigerianschools: 2:02pm On Apr 07, 2013
While some rituals can involve something as simple as a silent, individual prayer, others—especially those involving a larger group—can be extremely painful and violent.

Here are some of the most bizarre taboo rituals from all over the world:

Cannibalism and Necrophagy

The Aghori Babas, who live in the city of Varanasi, India, are famous for eating the daed. They believe that the greatest fear human beings have is the fear of their own deaths, and that this fear is a barrier to spiritual enlightenment. So by confronting it, one can achieve enlightenment.

There are five types of people who cannot be cremated according to Hinduism: holy men, children, pregnant or unmarried women, and people who have died of leprosy or snake bites. These people are set afloat down the Ganges, where the Aghori pull them from the water and ritually consume them.

The Sun Dance

Native Americans are known to perform numerous rituals in honor of the Earth’s spirits. The rituals are a means of praying to the Great Spirit, and sacrificing oneself while retaining a direct contact with the Tree of Life. The skin on the chest of the participants is pierced with a skewer, and a rope connects the skewer to a pole which represents the Tree of Life. The participants then move back and forth to try and break free from the skewer—which, it bears repeating, is still lodged in their skin. This dance may take several hours before it is completed.

Self-Flagellation

Followers of the Shi’a sect of Islam carry out the ritual of mass self-flagellation every year during the Holy month of Muharram, in order to commemorate the martyrdom of Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad. In what can only be described as a gruesome display, the men whip their bodies with blades attached to chains. In their state of religious trance, they apparently do not feel the pain.

Vine Jumping

In the village of Bunlap, which lies on an island in the Pacific archipelago, a strange ritual is performed called Gkol, or land-diving—a kind of precursor to bungee jumping. The villagers sing and dance together, and some of them beat drums as men come forward to volunteer for the jump. They tie vines around their ankles, and jump from very high wooden towers constructed especially for this ritual.

The participants, apparently heedless of the potential for broken bones, simply leap forward head-first. The fall is broken by the vines tied to the tower. It is said that a higher jump guarantees you a greater the blessing from the gods.

Voodoo and Spiritual Possession

Vodun is a religion in parts of West Africa. One of its rituals involves making someone into a kind of vessel, or medium. The person in question is taken into the forest in order to connect with the Earth Spirit, Sakpata. The spirit lays claim to the body, overcoming the person so that he or she becomes unconscious. They remain in this state for three days without food or water, until finally they are brought back to consciousness after another set of rituals.

Sky Burials

In Tibet, Buddhists practice a strange sacred ritual called Jhator, or sky burial. Buddhists believe in a cycle of rebirth, which means that there is no need to preserve a body after death, since the soul has moved on to another realm. The bodies of the dead are therefore taken to open grounds—usually at very high altitudes—and then left as alms for scavengers such as vultures. In order to dispose of the body as quickly as possible, a specialist cuts the corpse into pieces, and spreads it around to be devoured.

Fire Walking

The Nine Emperor Gods Festival is a Taoist celebration carried out in Penang, Malaysia. One of the purification rituals involves walking barefoot on burning embers. Fire is believed to overcome impurity and repel evil influences—so walking over the fire signifies a man’s strength, and his resolve to free himself from evil. Hundreds of devotees walk over the fire, sometimes carrying deities across in a brave display.

Dancing With the Dead

Famadihana, meaning “The Turning of the Bones,” is a traditional festival which takes place in Madagascar. The participants believe that the faster the body decomposes, the faster the spirit reaches the afterlife. They therefore dig up their loved ones, dance with their corpses to live music around the tomb, and then rebury them. This bizarre ritual is carried out every two to seven years.

Impaling

The annual Vegetarian Festival in Phuket, Thailand, is host to a most extreme ritual. This intensely masochistic event requires the participants to push spears, knives, swords, hooks, and even guns through their cheeks. It is believed that gods enter their bodies during the ritual, protecting them from evil and bringing good luck to the community.

Death Rites

The Amazonian tribe of Yanomami is one of the most primitive in the world. In their view, death is not a natural phenomenon. The corpse is cremated, and the resulting ashes mixed with fermented banana. This mixture is then consumed by the tribespeople, as a way of making sure that the spirit of the deceased member continues to live among them.

Scarification

A tribe in Papua New Guinea called Kaningara practices a bloody body-modification ritual that is intended to strengthen the spiritual connection between them and their environment.

One of these ritual ceremonies is carried out in Haus Tambaran, or “The Spirit House.” The adolescents live in seclusion in Haus Tambaran for two months. After this period of isolation, they prepare for an initiation ceremony which recognizes their transition to manhood. An expert cutter marks their bodies with sharp pieces of bamboo. The resulting patterns resemble the skin of a crocodile; this is based on the notion that crocodiles are the creators of humans. The marks symbolize the tooth marks left by the spirit of the crocodile as it ate the young boy’s body and expelled him as a grown man.

With power come not only the fame but also, more importantly, the fortune. Heads of state or government are supposed to be the servants of the people, but it may be an extremely difficult and even thankless job.

Those who serve should have a real and sincere love for his mother country to perform such a role.

Real servants should be one with his people and must know what the ordinary man is feeling. That is why a lot of admiration comes the way of Jose Mujica (The Poorest President in the World), the President of Uruguay who has eschewed all the perks of his power to live with and among ordinary Uruguayans. But sometimes, it may also help to be rich because it will allow the person to focus on his job without worrying about money to provide for his family.

And money worries, these heads of state and government do not have. Here now is a list of the top 10 richest presidents in the world.

Sebastian Pinera, President of Chile – $2.4 billion
Mohammed VI, King of Morocco – $2.5 billion
Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar – $2.5 billion
Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechstenstein – $4 billion
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai – $4 billion
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates – $15 billion
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia – $18 billion
Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei – $20 billion
Bhumibol Adulyadej, King of Thailand – $30 billion
Vladimir Putin, President of Russia – $40 billion

Career / Words That You Shouldn't Put In Your Résumé by Nigerianschools: 5:51pm On Mar 26, 2013
When it comes to looking for a job, what you don't say can be just as important as what you do say. Here are nine phrases and words to leave off your résumé.

Try

Try simply shows a lack of belief, passion, commitment, and confidence — all the qualities you need to succeed in today's tight job market. While try is the most dangerous word that an employee or job seeker can use in the workplace, there are certainly other danger words that also indicate negativity, uncertainty or controversy at work and can also doom your chances of getting (or keeping) a job. – Brad Hoover, CEO of Grammarly

Clichés

Don't use common buzzwords such as innovative, team player and results-oriented. These and others are so overused that they're now seen as clichés and have lost their impact altogether. Rather, list specific accomplishments. Instead of saying you have extensive experience in sales, note that you've worked in sales for 10 years, hit your quota the last 12 quarters and note specific deals you've closed. As a hiring manager I want real details of past jobs, such as how many people you supervised or specific ways you helped increase profitability.— Darnell Clarke, author of self-published "Employmentology: A Practical Systematic Methodology of Finding Employment by a Hiring Manger"

References available upon request

When it comes to developing a strong résumé, there are many words and phrases which shouldn’t be included in this professional document. One of the most outdated happens to be the phrase: "references available by request." You’re not doing yourself a favor by wasting precious space on your résumé to include a phrase that is clearly understood by hiring managers and recruiters. If a hiring manager is interested in contacting your references, they will request the information from you. – Heather Huhman, founder and president of Come Recommended

Irrelevant and outdated experience

Oftentimes I will see candidates that still have their high school work experience on their résumé. This is a huge mistake since it looks like the candidate is reaching for items to include on their résumé. Rather, include any recent projects that challenged you and include a similar skill set for the position you are applying for. — Patrice Rice, CEO and founder of Patrice & Associates

Objective

Candidates should never put an objective on their résumé. Their objective is to get the job. It has been my experience that hiring managers simply do not care about a job seeker's objective. What they want to see are your skills and experience. – Stefanie Carrabba, senior consultant at Eliassen Group

Responsibilities include

In today's tough job economy job seekers need résumés that are leaner and cleaner than ever before, so they command the attention of busy hiring personnel. This is why the phrase "responsible for'' should never occur in a résumé. This tired and completely impractical expression is going to be translated into completely average at and will most certainly cause hiring managers to toss the résumé aside. Wasting prime résumé real estate with basic tasks, duties, or responsibilities is a sure way to harm a job search since nobody is interested in reading a career obituary of basic requirements. – Adrienne Tom, founder and certified professional resume writer (CPRW) at Career Impressions

Vague claims

I was going through a large number of résumés last week for a search project that I am working on and about 75 percent of the candidates had the phrase "transformational leader'" on their résumé. No explanations of how they were transformational or what that meant. That phrase is overused and doesn't specifically mean anything that translates to a specific experience. My recommendation is to remove this from your résumé and more specifically describe the skill set. – Kimberly Bishop, founder and CEO of Kimberly Bishop Executive Recruiting

Love

As in I'd love to work for a company. I see it all the time when people ask me to take a look at their résumé and/or cover letter. You love your significant other, your kids, your family. You shouldn't put love on a cover letter or résumé! — Dayna Steele, speaker and author of "101 Ways to Rock Your World" (iUniverse 2012)

Qualitative descriptions

I would leave off any qualitative description that is not accompanied by an example or metric. Some of the words job seekers use in a summary that are glossed over such as seasoned, experienced, creative and innovative. Just give me years of experience and what exactly did you start or improve. — Caroline Ceniza-Levine, career and business expert at SixFigureStart

Religion / Contradictions In The Bible by Nigerianschools: 5:38pm On Mar 26, 2013
No matter if you’re Christian, Jewish, Islamic or atheist, we can all agree on one point: the Bible is full of insane tales. Hidden between the ‘thou shalt nots’ and endless passages on who begat whom are stories of giant sex, rather well endowed Egyptians and holy murderous bears.

Turns out the Bible has more internal consistency than people like to give it credit for, even with famous stuff like:

Cain’s Wife

The contradiction: After murdering his brother, Cain runs off and shacks up with another woman—despite his mother Eve being the only thing on Earth with human ovaries.

Why it’s not: Remember that scene in Dark Knight Rises when Bane does his prison speech and we catch a glimpse of him in the future, even as he continues speaking? Rather than screaming “how can he be in two places at once?” and blaming it on witchcraft, we understood it was Nolan using non-chronological editing to heighten the emotion of the scene. And guess what? The same thing happens in the Bible.

In Genesis 4:16-17, we hear that Cain went and got a wife. In Genesis 5:4 we hear that Adam lived 800 years and had enough sons and daughters to populate the planet. Because storytelling was different 4,000 years ago, all that’s happened is we’ve heard the whole of Cain’s tale in one go, rather than split up across Genesis, soap opera style. It’s the same storytelling trick that allows us to watch Phantom Menace after Return of the Jedi without becoming confused, only a whole lot less disappointing.

God Allows Incest

The contradiction: Faced with a city of homosexuals, God flies into a rage and blows the whole place up. Faced with his servant Lot having drunken sex with his daughters, God has no problems with it.

Why it’s not: Because the sodomites tried to rape God’s angels, people have used this story as evidence that God firebombed the place because he hates gay people. Only the Bible doesn’t say that. Ezekiel 16:49 makes it pretty clear the people of Sodom were killed for being greedy and inhospitable to the poor, as does Amos 4:1-11 and Jeremiah 23:14. In the original passage, the angels are traveling around ancient Canaan disguised as hobos, taking hospitality where they find it. Now, kindness to strangers and poor people is obviously a big theme in the Bible. So when the holy hobos move on to wealthy Sodom and only local immigrant Lot offers them his hospitality, it says more about the place than any same-sex action ever could. This isn’t just my opinion by the way; plenty of scholars have come to the same conclusion. The contradiction only arises if you come at it from an anti-gay standpoint.

Inbreeding

The contradiction: Our whole species is directly descended from Adam and Eve. That means a whole lot of incest, the effects of which should be pretty obvious by now.

Why it’s not: We tend to forget that the Bible was originally written in ancient Hebrew. Thanks to our wildly different language system, this throws up all sorts of quirks in translation. For example, 1 Samuel 20:41 can be translated as either a passage about King David crying, or about him getting an erection. In the early chapters of Genesis it gets even more confusing. In Hebrew, ‘Adam’ isn’t just a name—it literally means ‘man’. So the creation story can either be about one man called Adam and his wife Eve, or about the birth of man. Since Genesis 5:1-2 explicitly refers to Adam as ‘them’, it makes sense to think of Biblical Adam as an example of synecdoche—a literary technique where a part (one man) is substituted for a whole (the entire human race). So even God himself didn’t intend Genesis to be read literally.

Multiple Gods

The contradiction: God totally tells the Israelites he’s the only God. The Bible then proceeds to mention a ton of other Gods.

Why it’s not: Aside from pioneering literary techniques, the Bible’s also crammed with some pretty heretical psychology. For example, Galatians 4:8 and Isaiah 37:19 outright claim most gods were forged in the minds of men, and following their non-existent law made slaves of us all. Aside from sounding like something Richard Dawkins might say, it reduces guys like Molech and Baal and Dagon to nothing more than the ancient equivalent of those bargain bucket knockoffs of recent blockbusters. But what about the times God refers to himself as multiple people? That’s just the Holy Trinity—the father, son and Holy Spirit that all make up the one big G.

Judas Dies Twice

The contradiction: The New Testament claims Judas both hanged himself and exploded after falling over.

Why it’s not: If you’ve seen Con Air, you probably remember John Malkovich’s death scene. Aside from going on for fifteen minutes, it includes his charactering getting stabbed, smashed into a wall, electrocuted, dropped several hundred feet and finally crushed by a laundry press. It’s the very definition of ‘overkill’, but it’s also what basically happens to Judas. Although Matthew kills him off in 27:5, Luke brings him back for a Con Air in Acts 1:18 by describing him falling and his stomach exploding. Since we usually don’t explode from falling over and Judas was already dangling from a tree, it makes sense to see Luke’s account as a record of what happens when a rotted corpse falls from a great height. Because he’s tactful, Matthew focuses on the hanging bit. Because he’s Jerusalem’s answer to Eli Roth, Luke plumps for the exploding stomach.

God Fails Mathematics

The contradiction: God created everything, including maths. The Bible is God’s word. It also doesn’t know what Pi is.

Why it’s not: 2 Chronicles 4:2 puts the value of Pi at ‘three’. If you have even the vaguest inkling of mathematics, you probably know that’s not only wrong, it’s so wrong that accepting it as truth would involve resetting our entire understanding of the universe. So what gives? Well, the Bible hated specifics. When all the people in the city of Ai are killed, their number is put at 12,000. Not slightly more or slightly less, but bang on 12,000. When a bunch of people decide to leave Mount Gilead, they number exactly 22,000, while exactly 10,000 stay. Since this happens all the time, it’s not that big a leap to assume the writer of Chronicles rounded Pi down. Granted, that’s still wrong, but he lived at a time when advanced mathematics meant being able to count all your fingers and toes.

Reincarnation

The contradiction: The Bible makes it pretty clear you only have one life before heading off to heaven or hell. So when Job says “naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there”, he’s either lying about reincarnation or about to do something we don’t really want to think about.

Why it’s not: Like most books, the Bible uses metaphors. Since Jesus himself spoke in parables, taking every passage literally would mean believing the son of God spent way too much time worrying about lost coins and giving wedding advice. Same deal with Job: throughout the story he uses phrases like “My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle” and “My flesh is clothed with worms”. In other words he talks in metaphor. The mother’s womb image is nothing more than a poetic way of saying he’ll die one day—it only becomes a contradiction if you somehow forget the whole of high school English.

Jesus Says ‘Fool’

The contradiction: According to Jesus, you can go to hell for saying ‘fool’. Then Jesus himself uses the term a few pages later.

Why it’s not: Taken in the context of Matthew 5:21-22, it’s pretty clear Jesus is using ‘fool’ as shorthand for any aggressive insult. The one-way ticket to hell comes from being abusive rather than the word itself—kind of like how using the n-word with your black friends is cool, but shouting it at random people in the street is not wise. Also, the full passage only prohibits you from getting abusive with your ‘brother’, in other words with another follower of God. When Jesus calls the Pharisees fools a few pages later, it’s while accusing them of swapping God for gold. In other words, as far as he’s concerned, they’re no longer his ‘brothers’—he can call them whatever he likes.

Moses Writes His Own Obituary

The contradiction: Moses is said to have written the first five books of the Bible. The last of these five, Deuteronomy, ends with Moses’ death.

Why it’s not: Remember the Silmarillion? It’s an unfinished Tolkien book that was completed by his son and published in 1977. Same deal with Deuteronomy. Early versions of the Bible were written on scrolls, with breaks between books often either unclear or non-existent. While we’ve got the order sorted now, at the time there wasn’t a definitive break between the end of Deuteronomy and the start of Joshua. So the account of Moses dying could just as equally belong at the start of the next book—we’ve just stuck it in Book 5 for completeness sake. In other words, it’s less a contradiction than it is good storytelling.

The Gospels Don’t Agree on Anything

The contradiction: Despite seeing exactly the same stuff happen, Matthew, Mark and John disagree about nearly all of it.

Why it’s not: Pick literally any significant event and you’ll find no eyewitnesses can agree on what happened. Take 9/11—here’s some testimony proving the government blew up the Pentagon. Now here’s some different eyewitness testimony proving it was a terrorist attack. You can apply this to almost anything: go to the beach with your friends on Sunday and by Friday you’ll all have slightly different takes on what happened. Wait another 20 years and your stories will be completely different, bar the central fact that you were physically at the beach. It’s called memory and it’s faulty—plenty of studies have concluded that eyewitness testimony is almost useless for that very reason. Given the gospels are attributed to different authors and supposedly written some 20–50 years after Jesus’ death, it’s kind of impressive they agree on anything at all.

Politics / Why All The Fuss About Alamieyeseigha – Minister Of Information by Nigerianschools: 12:02pm On Mar 19, 2013
For some time now the news media at home and abroad has been dishing out all kind of news about Alamieyeseigha. Some are condemning his pardon while others are happy about it.

Some are already passing out threats (the US), while others are probably looking to continue business with him from where they stopped.

All this drama in the news media leaves one to wonder, why all the noise? Expecially from all those who are against the move. Since Everyone against the move is so quick to forget, let me take you down memory lane.

First a quick question. Why was Alamieyeseigha charged with corruption in the first place, especially amongst so many other corrupt officials. Is it that he was the most corrupt?

Now during Obasanjo’s regime, it was common knowledge that he used his watch dog (The EFCC) to run down those who were not loyal to him or those who would not do his bidding. At such, people like Alamieyeseigha suffered. A similar case is Ibori amongst some others. Ibori‘s case was a bit different from Alamieyeseigha’s case because he was strong and smart enough to hold the governorship seat till the end. The only mistake he made was putting Uduagan (a traitor) in power, who failed to cover his track. Which is why he is in a mess right now.

Anyway, let’s shift our attention back to Alamieyeseigha. So Alamieyeseigha was crucified because he wasn’t completely loyal and probably because they were looking for a scapegoat. Now if that scapegoat has gone to apologise and made a promise to be loyal, is it not fair and reasonable that he should be pardoned. Plus the man who has the power to pardon used to be his boy. Probably still is. So what are we not talking about? This is Naija and anything can happen. So I beg, USA make una go sit down for bush with una threat.

For those wondering what the minister of information has got to do with this, wonder no more. Since I diseminate information, so it’s only fair I call myself the minster of information. Plus I put it there to get your attention. Worked right?

Also for those who might be asking for proof, Ask my “Oga at the top”.

Sam xiu lee: You are a proud one?and abacha is no 7 on your list?chief obafemi awolowo and abiola were the best presidents Nigeria never had.
First of all Awo was never a president and he defrauded the Ibos after the civil war so ow does dat make him best. As for Abiola, you probably should go to Fela's grave to ask abt him if you were not yet born during shagari's regime. Abiola is as Corrupt as IBB and Abacha. It was because of his generosity that people loved him
