Remember Sanchez is already running forward having come from Kantes position, while Matic is on the turn having just pushed up. Even if Matic played to the whistle, he can't turn around 180 degrees and catch Sanchez from that position, that's why I asked you to post the gif.

As far as I'm concerned from our end, the major culprit is Kante, after that I'm blaming the referee.
