Left-back, you did not suggest Theo Hernandez if you could not get Benjamin Mendy. You did not suggest Andrew Robertson or ask for Kolasinac who was on free transfer, nor do you know who Ryan Sessegnon is.

Centreback, you did not suggest Harry Maguire or Manolas, it was Bonucci.

Contes only defence at the moment is that he asked for players worth £60m and above. That is not good enough. Any 5 year old can do that. The club are not blocking the positions he needs strengthening, they are just buying the wrong players. If Conte needs left-back he gets left-back albeit Palmieri instead of Sandro. If he needs central midfielder, he gets Bakayoko, he needs centre-back, he gets Rudiger.

He did not ask for a winger, the club did not go and buy a winger he did not ask for. So at least the club is listening to the needs of the manager, unlike the days of RDM and Benitez where Emenalo signs positions he wants (wingers) and don't care what the team needs (midfielders).

Conte is not a scout, so I won't blame him, but he does not watch football, and he does not know the sub £35m market which is the market the club operates in now. The worst players in the team within that price range were suggested by Conte, and he cannot distance himself from them (Bakayoko and Zappacosta), thats why he plays Bakayoko every game despite him stinking cos those players are his suggestions.

So you were at the meetings with Conte and the board and knew exactly who Conte did and did not ask for....

That was one of the most revealing interviews into the inner workings of Chelsea that I think we will ever get....Emenalo really gave a lot of insights.

Morata has fantastic movement, but as we've seen struggles a bit when asked to hold up the ball, and be a central point of reference for the team.

i think that hes probably mentally more comfortable in a supporting role, and doesnt seem to have the ego or confidence required to be the main man.

that said, i still cant get jiggy with the dzeko signing...too old, too expensive, no resale value, etc

i would have even preferred the mooted Arnautovic transfer if he wasnt injured. he has the physical frame, technical ability and self confidence required....he's also quite fast
