Faith, daddy Nihilist, Faith! cool

When the Lord shall turn again our captivity in Camp Nou, we will sing and shout for Joy.

This Barca present team was actually clueless in front of our 18 yard box save for that Chris's mistake.

Them no sabi.

Well, the issue now is that we have to score...

We can't just go there to defend well, and hit them on the counter, so our work is a lot harder.

Faith is not enough, and heaven only helps those who help themselves.

The walls of jericho may have been blasted down by supersonic waves from the spiritual realm, but the children of isreal still needed to physically recruit an olosho from Jericho to help the war effort.

Rudiger would have been in position to cover who?

Messi or Suarez?

As a fan, I'm only interested in what will prevent such stuffs from recurring again. The only person in that mix who will repeat the same thing again is Fabregas, so he must go!!

If Cahill had made that pass, I would be on his back knowing that he is liable to do that again.

Fabregas time and again is a structural weakness in my team.

The sloth must go!!!

I can understand your sentiment about Fab being the weakest link.

But that's a different conversation to what we're having here.

I also feel that Gary Cahill and David Luiz are weak links in our backline, but they had nothing to do with what happened last night...

fab will not need to block messi's run if he just uses 1 more second to run to that ball and pass to moses or boot it out.
for me azpi has less of the blame cause he tried to do something. it was a 50-50. had he succeeded in clearing that ball, he would have been hailed. chris made a big mistake by playing that pass across goal. his accuracy on that pass was reduced due to kante that was in front of him. that ball wouldn't have looked dangerous if fab had not been lazy. kante would have taken that ball comfortably and it wouldn't have looked like a danger. fab was simply lazy there. he was just lazy and thought left the work to someone else without knowing that iniesta will be charging down on the ball.

See pic below.

As previously highlighted, Chris in Red is out of the game.

Suarez is goal side of Rudi(in blue) and one on one with our keeper

Messi in tax avoiding pink is attacking our box.

If Fab in yellow drifts away from that central position, and there's a turnover, there are suddenly 2 strikers in our box with nobody marking.

Thats exacty why Fab did not chase the ball...he had to stay to defend that central zone

But Azpi had other plans...

My friend, don't start any talks about my judgement on midfield play. Every year has been a school year for you on that matter.

Everything you said has been directly contradicted by pundits and newspaper editors alike.

your judgement is suspect. end of story

fab continuing to run towards that ball would have gotten it comfortably (before iniesta) and passed to moses or pull out. chris bleeped up, fab could not correct it, azpi took an expensive gamble.

fab has to stay put to blockk Messi's run into the box, as Rudiger is the one marking Suarez who is actually goal side of our man, and Christensen who is supposed to be central is the one pinging foolish passes from the byline.

Which means Fab can't drift positionally, as 2 of our 3 cbs are completely out of position. If Azpi doesn't dive in, Fab is in a good position to cover Chris.

When Azpi removes himself from the board, Fab is forced to run into his space to try and cover him, but it's too little too late.

I really can't blame Fab for anything here. Sure, he probably could have done better, but nothing he did actually put us in danger...

Chris and Azpi on the other hand though...

Change the direction of the ball to Azp to clear out, so Iniesta would not get it first.

The only reason Iniesta got the ball first was that foolish slide tackle.

Like I said, you're literally just beginning to understand wagwan

From where i'm sat, the ball looks closer to Azpi than Iniesta in the first pic

If he doesn't dive in, the worst that happens is that they get to the ball at the same time...

Infact Azpi does get there first(see second pic)

But he recklessly dives, misses the ball, and takes himself out of the game...allowing Iniesta to just stroll into the box.

the rest is history

The ball was curving towards Fabregas, I'm sure Chris had Fabregas in mind. Azp was too far of a risk for him to take from such distance.

You're just loading what was said last night.

Fab saw he was under pressure on both sides and left the ball to roll towards the relative safety of Moses and Azpi.

If you are also saying that Fab should have passed to Azpi then what is the problem?

Admit it Fabregas is weak and slow. He doesn't need to trap any ball. Pass to Rudiger or between him and Kante. This shouldn't be hard for a player like fabregas. Besides Suarez was not glued to Rugider, so he wasn't standing hand in hand with him.

Matic wouldn't have any problem receiving that ball on pressure, trap and pass conveniently. This was why Conte was benching him last season, he doesn't provide any defense rigidity to play in a 2-man midfield.

The fact that you suggested passing to Rudiger...in the box,...with Suarez literally centimetres away...invalidates your opinion to me

How many newspapers pointed out Fabregas escort service for KDBs goal against Chelsea.

All that tells you is that your judgement on football is questionable, if your views are constantly in opposition to people who are paid for their ability to analyse the game...many of whom played the game at the highest level themselves

on BT sport last night:

Rio Ferdinand: Christensen made a cardinal sin with that pass

Ibime: There was nothing wrong with that pass

Steven Gerrard: Azpilicueta goes to ground when he should stayed on his feet

Ibime: I would have done exactly the same as Azpi there..

can you spot the trend?

So when you're asking why a paper didn't report on something, maybe it's actually because the papers arent actively trying to scapegoat people.

The Sun ran with a huge headline today titled Andreas Fault....it's not because Fab is their biggest customer.

Looking at it critically, within a second of Chris playing the ball in, Fabregas should've been alert waiting and ready to intercept. He just needed to receive that ball and pass to Rudiger to clear out. That's very easy. Because of Suarez or messi pressure is no excuse. Just be fast, as soon as Chris moves his leg to play, anticipate and move too.

Move fast to the ball and pass to Rudiger. Just one touch.

He was just an escort service in that midfield, all thanks to Kante last night. I only blame Conte for not removing him after we 1-0 up.

I wonder if you people watch ball in full understanding

You want fab to go and trap ball inside his box under pressure from 2 strikers...to pass the ball to Rudiger who is practically stood hand in hand with Suarez...

And then you say 'Looking at it Critically'

Na wa o cheesy

There is nothing unusual with passing the ball across your 18. Modern defenders do it all the time. You can see the sloth Fabregas open for the ball and looking at Chris. All his body language here says to Chris gimme the ball. There ain't really a fücking thing wrong with this pass Chris plays, only very slightly away from Fabregas body which he has enough time to react to.

The moment a ball is played, you have few milliseconds to adjust your body to get to the pass. The sloth could not move himself.

Theres nothing wrong with Andreas Pass, yet all the papers this morning are putting him on blast...

Chris is the major culprit for me. Azpi also fvcked up by making that reckless challenge however if fab took responsibility after Chris fvcked up....I am 1000℅ sure we wont be having this conversation. Fab as usual couldn't be bothered or was just too lazy to act.

I'd be interested to see if you can find a media houuse that backs up your assertion.

I've checked the big names, Guardian, Sky, BBC, Sun, Daily Mail, Goal

Everyone of them blame Chris and Azpi, none of them even mention Fab

The simple fact of the matter is that, as of the time the ball went past fab, we were still NOT in danger...

Then Azpi dove in recklessly and the rest is history...

Simple fact, Azpi doesn't dive in, Iniesta never has a square play...

Unless you want to say a reckless slidetackle was the only option left to Azpi as a result of Fab not touching the ball

Do you think another defender would have made that stupid pass that Chris did...

Chris was clearly steeewpid not to have cleared that ball one time however fab with all is experience should have at least attempted to clear that ball one time if he felt he was under pressure instead of dropping the responsibility for other players to carry.

He should run towards a ball...inside the box...with luis suarez in front, and Messi behind...

Or he should let the ball roll away from goal

Nothing like he did what he thought was clever. That sloth could not move his body. That's why Conte hooked him off straight after. Conte will be regretting not making that move 5 minutes earlier.

The only mitigation you can have for Fabregas was that he looked away for a millisecond while the ball was coming toward him. That millisecond cost him.

I'm not interested in any non-objective analysis.

the fact that you haven't even once mentioned Azpilicueta says a lot.

Fab ought to chase that ball bro, to distract iniesta and also to make azpi stay on his feet. He is defensively lazy. A defensive midfielder will chase that ball, not necessarily mean he will win it but to distract opposition.

Fab let the ball roll, and in case you missed it, was actually in Azpi's position in the box by the end of the move.

That ball was going nowhere dangerous until Azpilicueta dived in recklessly. By letting the ball roll out, Fab had actually defused the situation slightly. The ball was actually rolling away from goal...

Then Azpi opened the gate again...

if it was a defensive midfielder there. gosh

I was shouting fab, I didn't even see the person who played the pass at first. fab was probably already tired and that's on conte for not taking him off after the Willin's goal.

As soon as the pass is launched, the first thing Fab did was look at Suarez.

See below.

He knows he has man on behind, and he can see Suarez pressuring in the box.

Why should he go an trap pass inside his own box under pressure from 2 strikers?

No doubt Christensen should not be taking that risk but I assure you any other midfielder gobbles that ball up.

That sloth did not even move his body one yard toward a ball that passed 3 yards in front of him from 15 yards away.

There is a kind of pass I would play to you within 3 yards of your body, everyone would say its a decent pass, but if I play the same pass to Yokozuna that cannot move his body, it would turn into a mishit.

Who says Fab did not move towards the ball?

See pic below.

You can see immediately that Fab initially moved towrds the ball then realised immediately that he would have intercepted the pass inside our own box.

You can see Messi already hunting him from Behind even as Suarez is pressuring him from the box.

So he did what he thought was clever, by letting the ball roll accross him and out of the danger zone.

Chris put the ball in the danger zone.

Fab let it roll back out

Azpi let Iniesta and the ball back in.

The rest is history.

You don't always have to try and force an agenda. The truth is staring you right in the face.

technical a big pile of confusion that one person would have prevented before it became a chain reaction of mistakes.

all these after thoughts when someone should have done something immediately instead of watching and hoping the next guy does something.

that moment was so shocking one would think maybe the ref had blown the whistle for a quick free kick

As soon as I saw the pass, I screamed...
