I want you to read very carefully cos I'm about to share you my life experience.

2015, I had #600k cash with me dat I've been saving to buy a land. I had even gotten a better location through the help of my Inlaw then before a business opportunity came. A football centre, the guy want to sell the business for #200k and relocate. I thought for a second that if I buy this business I will expand it since it's planks and wood it will be easy for me to reconstruct and it will fetch me more money that I will be able to buy the land eventually later.

In short, I invested heavily in it, acquiring more debts.. It took me #950k to complete everything.. In this business, I have football Centre, a tuition Centre and barbing saloon. Of all the three divisions, it's only football Centre that's functioning now. I've even placed it on the market cos I now no longer likely to have time to run it anymore that makes me to be loosing customers.

Today, looking back, If I have to make the a choice between land or business I will choose land. Though the experience I gained from running that business may never be monetized but still, I will definitely choose land.

So my brother, choose carefully... If ur choice is business make sure u make very good research concerning that business very well, make sure it's a business you can do yourself and you have time for it otherwise people will run you down. If you are not ready for all this, I suggest you go for land.

1. No breeder will send you a pup without cash. You don't expect a breeder in Jos for example, to send a pup down to you in lag without receiving full payment of the pup. You don't expect General Mohammed to leave his facility and go to a park to you a pup (with or without full payment).

2. Since there's the issue of trust, the best way to it, is to look for a friend or breeder who resides in the same town with the Seller. Let them confirm the seller's house address, confirm the realness of the dog too.

3. The Pet industry is fast growing and i can tell you for free, that there are breeders in every single state in Nigeria. If i need to buy a pup from a seller in Kaduna for example, i sure know a lot of kaduna breeders i can call to confirm the realness of the seller.

4. That's the more reason we preach that all pet lovers interact and mingle, to make a better canine community. There are a lot of groups, clubs, associations, etc in every state who share this same passion for pets. The canine world has brought me closer to a lot of people, contacts, affiliations, etc.

Most times i hear of issues relating to scam, all i do i laugh because most scam victims are the greedy and gullible buyers. When an offer sounds too good to be true, you don't need an angel to tell you to run. A seller can't offer me a Tibetan Mastiff for 100k and expects me to keep the conversation going.

Please stop spreading false information. Refineries take as long as 2-3 years to build. The subsidy was only removed April last year, less than a year ago. Dangote is building a refinery in Lagos that will cater to the supply needs of the entire West Africa, plus the refineries we already have are being refurbished. Nigeria should be a net exporter of Petroleum products by 2018/2019.
We would have stable power now if those idiots in the creeks stopped blowing up pipelines. Gencos cannot generate the power they need because of gas constraints. Discos cannot supply the very little they are supplied with because they have not been able to invest in the distribution network because the banks are not giving them money again. Between paying for the power from the Gencos and investing in upgrading the distribution network, almost nothing is left.
Banks are not giving credit because of the impact of the dollar scarcity on their books. There is dollar scarcity because the price of oil has plummeted, and also because those idiots in the creeks are blowing pipelines.
Whichever way you look at it, those idiots in the creeks account for almost all the problems in our power, economic and financial sectors.
