Hello House, Please i have a consistent income of 300k per month and my total planned expense for my Uk trip is 600k. So can I put 50k as my expense monthly so my disposable income will be 250k per month, so that after two months of saving it will almost cover my trip expense figure which is 500k. Again my question is, can I put 50k as expense whereas I’m gaining 300k as self employed.
And also I’m sponsoring myself through my personal bank statement, would that be proof enough cause since I’m self employed do you think it’s necessary I submit my company bank statement and if so how much should at least be in it ? |

giselle237: Did you submit your own bank statement? There doesn’t have to be so much money in it.. but did you show them through your own bank statement how exactly you are living ‘economically’ ? This your dad’s friend you are planning to put in your application... do you have any proof of knowing him that can be attached to your application? There must be substantial proof of a prior relationship ie. that you know each other before... pictures, emails, whatsapp messages, phonecall logs... your dad’s consent letter must also carry this bit of information u will be required to fill an amount for expenditure.. simply how much will this trip cost in your opinion? They know it is a sponsored trip but you must fill in a figure.. so add plane ticket return plus accommodation(if applicable), feeding(if applicable) and miscellaneous for the total number of days. Thats it! Thanks a lot sir |

giselle237: How many years is your course? And what level are u presently? For your dad as a businessman and sponsor... show the evidence of origin of his funds such as cac documents, tax certificates, invoices or anything to show proof of this business
Submit the police report and affidavit for missing certificate as well as the new age declaration or birth certificate... explain also in your cover letter.. the dates and how it got lost must tally in all these evidence.
Submit your admission letter, school results from start till date, school id, introduction letter from school, all school fees receipts... any other thing you hold that shows you are a real student
Consent letter from ur dad that he is aware of the trip and is sponsoring because you are a good child bla bla... and that he has been the one sponsoring your current education as well
Typed letter to the ECO addressing this refusal, the birth certificate issue, breakdown of ur expenses for this trip, booked accommodation, detailed activities and itinerary for this vacation period with tourist sites that you would be partaking in
Provisional flight booking to show your departure and arrival.. just for the ECO to have an idea
Family photos of u and your dad and possibly your mom
If you have any other family members that would be in Nigeria during your travel like your siblings... state and submit any evidence you have concerning them as they would also serve as your ties Thank you very much for this reply. I totally understand the aspects concerning the birth certificate and source of funds now, but I seem to not understand how the bank statement, expenditure and Income is calculated. As a student, do I need to worry about all that, because I don’t work and my dad is sponsoring the trip. The last part of the letter says. “You state that you are student and have no income or savings. I must take into account your personal and economic circumstances in Nigeria when coming to my decision. The documents you have submitted do no demonstrated personal or economic ties” Can you please clarify me on what “Economic ties” mean in my case as a student with no job. And what personal ties mean also. I’d really appreciate your response sir. |

omopapa: First of all you need to show your tie to Nigeria, job/business, family (wife/kids), landed properties and so on. Your dad’s documents are supplementary, u have to show urs and how u stand on ur own. No sir, I’m still a student. I was just going for a visit in the uk. I submitted documents to prove that I’m a student. |

Hello House, Please for any of us experienced applicants, I was refused a visit visa around late November because I didn’t show proof for source of funds. I apparently submitted only his bank statement and sponsorship letter(My bad). Though I plan on applying again May/June. My dad is acting as my sponsor and he owns a business. What type of documents do think will be enough to convince the consular officer. This is the first reason I was denied.
Also I was also denied because my birth certificate was issued way after my birth(2019). I mean I was issued a new one because my old one got missing. I only submitted the new birth certificate as evident of relationship with my parents but I got refused too cause of this reason. Next time I’m applying, should I submit an affidavit and police report to proof it really went missing or I should just do a declaration of age? PLEASE HELP!!!!! |

Owjs: Good day @justwise, I need your advise, I intend to apply for 2 years UK Visa, I have travelled once with a six month issued Visa 7 years ago and reapply for 2 years which I only travelled once with it, it's been 5 years now, kindly advise if I can still apply for 2 years, I hope the long gap of 5 years won't have a negative effect if I apply for 2 years or just reapply for 6mnths. I will appreciate ur feedback. Thanks and God bless. I don’t think it would have any negative effect IMO as long as you submit the right documents and you’re consistent with the information in your past applications. I also feel staying back for 5 years has even showed you have things you’re doing in Nigeria and you won’t run away, plus you have a good travel history with them which is showing that they trust you. So go ahead and don’t be scared. Apply. |

Justblow: OH... I understand now, it's not that they both over there. Very well, your friend can invite him over, while your brother fund the trip from here.
The picture thing is perfect. Also let him and your friend have some sort of communications at least at 16, he should own a smartphone.
I will put everything you said into consideration and post the end results of this experience. Thanks for your prompt reply. God bless
And don't forget his BC. is very important. |

Justblow: You friend is accommodating.... Your brother is sponsoring......your presentation is going to raise serious doubt. Work with just one sponsor.
Did or has the mum consent to this? , if yes, provide her consent letter.
And which ever one of the two sponsor you are using, make sure your son and this fella has at least a year prove of communication with him or her.
Good luck. Okay, I will work with one sponsor, preferably my brother because I applied with his name. I also have the my wife’s consent letter with her signature together with her drivers licence to show relationship with the child. My brother who is sponsoring my son is here in Nigeria. Will you advice I make them take a picture together just for this reason and submit to back this up? Thanks for the reply also |

Nikimanni7: 1. Hello House, my son is traveling to the UK for the first time and is 16 years of age. He’s going to the Uk to stay with my friend for the Christmas and new year holidays. My brother here in Nigeria is sponsoring him and has given his bank statement of 4 million Naira to prove that. In the application they asked why my brother is sponsoring this trip and I wrote because “I his father cannot sponsor this trip at this time”, although I have a house worth 20,000,000and documents to prove(Contract of sale and property deed) that I live at my address with my son. Also the person inviting my son has offered to accommodate him and take care of his living expenses also. That is, my brother and my friend are acting as co-sponsors, but in the application I put my brother(His Uncle) as his only sponsor. Although in the invitation letter my friend sent, he attached his Uk bank statement, passport page(British Citizen), proof of accommodation and also stated that his will accommodate and take care of his living expenses. Should I not bother attaching my friends bank statements since I have mentioned my brother as his sponsor or I should leave it as a plus?
2. Also I stated the trip will cost 800k as he will be there for exactly two weeks and a day, but I put my brother will sponsor him with as much as 1 million naira. Is this bad ? NOTE: Bank statement is 4M (5 months period bank statement)
3. My brother only provided his personal bank statement and letter of declaration showing willingness to sponsor my son. Are there any other documents to add to this ?
4. Is health insurance a must ?
5. Must I attend the visa application center with my son or he can go alone or with someone else ? Anyone ? |

EngrOloye: Good day everyone here, someone asked a question that he made a mistake while filling his application online and he has submitted it.instead of him to write 250,000 as monthly salary he mistakenly wrote 25,000,000:00 what can he do to correct it .does it mean he will cancel the application and resubmit it or he can use biro to circle the mistake and write the exact amount and back it up with a write up.thank you You have to cancel and reapply because if you use a pen to cancel out a number, to them you have forged that document and it will contradict to what you submitted online. My advice is to cancel and get a refund then apply again. Better safe than sorry. |
