neccki:I traveled on a one way ticket with Turkish airlines and I wasn't disturbed... The return ticket applies only to students going to UK not Germany. Remind them that in case the person at the counter is a "learner" Information is power |

Ninered reporting live from NRW, Germany. Its been over a week I arrived and I swear this country dey sweet me die!!! But to be honest the hustle is real and to make it you need to work it. Congrats to all those who got their visa this winter and success to those applying. A lil tip to those arriving make sure you have google map and the DB navigator app. Its difficult to stop someone and start asking for direction especially if your German is below average. If you can do a 3days crash program in German language before coming, pls do. Yesterday I decided to take the train on my own with the small german I know... I didn't want to bother my friend anymore who has been of extreme help since I started this German dream (may God bless him & make him prosper). Unfortunately for me my connecting train was switched from platform 2 to 10 and I didn't even hear the announcement even to read the notice on the board pass me . I just stood there waiting for 45mins like mumu. Nah later I gather mind approach two guys hoping they'll hear small English. They helped me locate a new connection to my destination after exchanging a series of cut & join English & German . When I got home I told my friend & other flat mates about my experience that day nah so all of them burst laugh #mydreamscometrue 18 Likes |

ask1509:Your case strong oo For 1&2, what you need is a lawyer, you can as well check CAC website but the kind of documents you need is not something you just wake up and own. From what I understand you should already have a registered and existing company (this is where doc. 1,2&3 apply), currently doing business with proof of same (4&7). I doubt if you'll beat 10 Nov deadline. |

PlatinumPlato:That's cool, sometimes it depends on dates and which airport its landing. Also check the flight duration (9-13hrs is ideal) and connecting flights (1 change of flight is ok). All these stuffs affect prices & agents won't tell you. |

PlatinumPlato:Its your choice I'm not an agent but here are some airlines to choose from... Top leagues are Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, British airways etc (this one nah your money kill am) Average league: Emirates, Turkish airlines etc Low league: Air maroc, Kenya airways, 9ja airlines etc The trick is European airlines cost high, middle-east airlines average and African airlines cheapest. I chose Turkish airlines... |

mykohayz: This is just the main thing I got out of the epistle the rest with a few editing will do well in a motivational letter I'm not experienced in all these stuff myself but this is what I have to say... When it comes to schooling age is not a problem to Germany, the reason Germany is known to produce the oldest graduates in the world. We all want a better life but you have to make the effort of research yourself. No one will tell you " Mr mykohayz go to Stuttgart and study or Munich is the happening place where students are paid 25euro per hour or if you study a bachelor in Gender & Diversity you'll start earning 150k euro/yr or Hamburg has jobs everywhere you go or money flows in Berlin" even if they know nobody will tell you even Dangote hasn't truly revealed how he became the richest Black man. Being confused is a good thing, it shows you're smart & want progress...it's only a fool who will be in a bad situation and be comfortable about it. Just pray to God for a focus. Everything is possible so long as you have the will power, courage and a good plan. 4 Likes |

darlingtonNYIG:When I was talking about buying your ticket directly from airlines and forgetting about agents some pages back you guys won't listen. smh I bought a one way ticket I just told customer service I have a student visa and won't be returning in a while unless they have a return ticket for 10yrs , the man laughed. He was like are you sure you have a student visa and I said yes he didn't even ask to see my passport or visa and he just gave me my flight ticket after doing the money transfer of course. 1 Like |

Based on popular demand.... ESSENTIALS for traveling this Winter Session. N/B: 1 suitcase & a backpack (for guys who like traveling light) 2 suitcase (medium size). Standard to fit in all your life for a long stay. 3 suitcase? Too much Airlines are not smiling when it comes to excess baggage fee & exceeding about 20kg per luggage 1. BASICS Have this in your backpack or carry-on.... Passport, Original documents, Cash(euro), Laptop/smartphone and a warm jacket. Hold on to these items everywhere you go & all times as if your life depends on it, Why? Because it does!!! 2. What goes in the suitcase CLOTHES; winter jackets, hoodies, sweaters, gloves, headwarmer, socks, tops, jeans (invest in good ones), Ankara wear (to show them you be 9ja), other accessories etc. Carry enough clothes coz they're expensive for new comers unless you want turn your brain into abokifx exchange rate. For ladies don't forget wigs (esp braided wigs, weavons, relaxers, etc, you'll thank me later on the 1st time you ever visit a saloon in Germany. FOOD: Gari, dryfish, crayfish, egusi, ogbono, dry leafs and uncommon local ingredients your village people dey chop. (palm oil is prohibited) Accessories: buy a universal plug or charger with 2 pin for your laptops/phone that's the standard for Germany. And if you're a movie/music freak like me then you better download all your favorites into a flash coz downloading from what I hear is illegal in Germany but streaming is allowed though. If your family/friends ask you to bring lots of food & other stuffs for them, don't be shy to ask for cash for the extra baggage but if you know you'll be squatting in their house you better comply oo so you don't turn homeless on your first night in Germany. Pls feel free to add other useful tips and comments #mydreamcometrue 16 Likes 4 Shares |

@ AbooFaaris The essence of my post is for people who have gotten A.M mails to just use the reservation as indication of date of travel and submit to embassy with their passport so that embassy go release your Visa sharp sharp. Then they can relax and buy ticket when they like. It was the method i used and there are other methods though... 2 Likes |

AbooFaaris:I saw that too, when I got my ticket it was 209 @ wakanow and I bought @ 217k @ Turkish. But... Have you heard of the term "Invitation to treat"? Oya go ahead let us know if extra charges is not involved not to talk of when you pay installmentally with wakanow. Wakanow is cash & carry but the airways gives you time to make reservation. Please others should share their experience nah the one I know I dey talk. |

harrison75:I reserved online first, its valid for 6days then I paid at the office. It depends on the time of booking, if you want cheap flights. I booked about 4wks to my date of travel making it very cheap as opposed to someone who books 1 week or 3 days to flight I think they use cbn rate. About agents being cheaper I don't believe that. Why not compare what agent gives you with that of the airline office. |

dailydolar:1. You can send one set of documents to them but it should include the 3 different application forms all in one package/envelope 2. Yes you can. I applied to 2 courses in one school through uni-assist and I got admission from both. One package with different application forms 3. Ask the school. But if it is under uni-assit, Yes you can, use different envelopes and put it in a bigger envelop and send to uniassit. To be honest with you all these questions is on the Uniassit site, check FAQ...abi you just want to confirm from 20 mouths first |

@harrison75 Unless you don't live in Lagos, Abuja or in states where there are airports or airline offices then using an agent makes small sense. |
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by ninered: 8:07am On Sep 06, 2017 |
harrison75: What do you need an agent for when technology exist? I booked for my flight online, directly on the airline website (Turkish airlines). I never used wakanow, travel start or whatever the name is. You can pay online as well but I chose instead to go to the Turkish airlines office @ Victoria Island and buy my ticket on my own. I also used the opportunity to ask customer service about the flights, various prices, time, duration, connecting flights etc In my opinion I prefer Turkish airlines to Air Maroc. Someone I know traveled through Air Maroc last week and when they reached Casablanca for the connecting flight he had barely 15mins to board the 2nd plane and a lot of the passengers had to leave their luggages behind . He entered Germany without his luggage but the airline collected his address and promised to send the luggage to his German address. Assuming he had no address to give them that would be bye bye to his luggage. Am not discouraging you maybe that kind of thing happens once in a blue moon. Also i guess Air Maroc is cheaper than the others. Goodluck 1 Like |

Mrbigman1:Mrbigman no mind am...don't even sweat your self on small stuff. I started reading this thread as well from middle of part2 and it helped alot. At some point i was tempted to open a German Agency business. My first question ever was about Fintiba Block account because it was a new thing. But you'll see people asking lazy questions like- how do I travel to Germany? Which schools are free in Germany? How do I apply for student visa? etc The one way weak me pass is...Is daad.de a website? Haba!!! To all of us here... Please do some personal research and make Google, German embassy website and DAAD your buddy. Or better still just start reading from middle of part 3. There's hidden gold in what people post here. You may not believe it but It was because of one old post I read from an old Oga on this thread that got me my Visa today. 1 Like |
