arieshybrid:In stand to be corrected... Safer= DB ( maybe because everyone has used it without complaint) Faster=Fintiba (because I tried; took me less than 48hrs) Better=? (when they start paying me I'll let you know) But know this... 1stly Fintiba is clearly mentioned on German Embassy website. 2ndly At a seminar held @ Goethe Institut last month by a representative of the Embassy on student visa matters & DAAD, I clearly heard it with my 2 big ears And 3rdly the International student body coordinator of the school I got admission to via email suggested I use Fintiba because it was less stressful. I was confused too, I have always known about Deutsch Bank and I thought Fintiba was Scam. Every one I know used DB but the 3 points above changed my mind. I'm not marketing for anyone but to me DB is old school, its like opening a/c with Union Bank |
Pvibe007:Good to know you're doing great. Its nice of you to still come here and give others hope. I remember those days you used to worry about Visa Keep succeeding... |
josafunmi: chidi4eze:Well this is what I did. I opened the German embassy website then where they mentioned Deutsch Bank & Fintiba, I simply clicked on the Fintiba link and it opened. I used my smart phone to do everything even the upload and selfie. I used mtn network & Google chrome browser 2ndly During the process always click on the link they send through email. Hope it helps. |
Negro1986: Stheelooo:Thanks a lot. I got the opening email from them this morning |
Negro1986:Thanks but abeg no vex... let me understand you clearly for Fintiba do I have to fund it first before I can get a confirmation of opening of block a/c then book for interview? |
neccki:No need for that |
Negro1986:Cool... After the application I was sent a mail that verification will take 5working days. Just want to know, what's next? |
Please who here is also using Fintiba for blocked account or am I the only one? ![]() |
neccki:Yes you have to include it that will fill in as the higher entrance qualification Note: with it you can even apply to any course even if it is not related to your former degree. But if you apply with only 1st yr transcript or HND or Studientkollege the course you are applying to must be directly related. |
Hello! Please who here is also using Fintiba for blocked account or am I the only one? ![]() I see a lot of people come hear in "ghost mode" they don't contrbute only collect information and disappear. Its not fair oo, there's God oo This is a platform to help and be helped. Pls share important info/ experience here and stop thinking we are the witches in your village who'll block your progress if you open your mouth... ![]() Have a blessed day ![]() |
dalin01: dalin01:Damn!! You said there was no enrollment deadline in the email or admission letter so they might have done guess work and given you 31st August. Also your school enrolment you are interested in is september abi nah 4th Oct. Between your visa interview & enrollment date is barely 4weeks.... 2ndly I hear visa takes between 4-6weeks Hmmm. There's something going on in my mind but maybe I'm just over thinking it...don't mind me Congrats and Goodluck!!! |
dalin01:It has been officially decided... Maybe your admission arrived before the decision. After all its already end of the month. |
goofyrhymes:Bsc. Thanks a lot. This has really helped |
I got admission but unfortunately the school recently introduced a 1500€ school fees. I'm waiting for other schools to reply... So while waiting my question is this: Can I use the current admission letter to open a block account and apply for visa interview but on the interview day use a different school admission letter? Pls don't ask me to read from part 1/2 of this thread because we all know there has been some "Change" both in Nigeria and the German Embassy regulations these days. Thanks ![]() |
Please Members of the house I need your help to solve this debate going on in my mind. Which block account should I open:- Fintiba or Deutsch Bank? |
neccki:Amen! |
pitapromiz:From my experience I now believe its possible... So during interview one should better mention every school they applied to because they know already. |
So I set out today with a 20k budget. I planned on certifying one set of documents at the embassy for free, then waybill it through dhl @ N18,200 and spend the remaining N1,800 on transport and feeding. I was shocked when I got to the embassy. When it got to my turn the white guy typed something into the computer and was like: White guy: You have been here before Me: yes sir ![]() White guy: and you certified docs for 4 schools Me: well yes White guy: For this 5th application you'll pay N3,300 Me: But Excuse me sir, when I certified those documents it was done for free and that was in February also the new policy only started this month of May. White guy: It doesn't matter Me: What?! I have heard of the new policy but I thought it meant if you come with more than 3 set of docs you pay didn't know they'll go into their archives. I had to think fast... If I go it would all be a wasted effort but if I pay I'll have a N3,300 deficit in my budget. Anyways I grudgingly paid the money but left the embassy like a bizman who had just lost his container of goods in the ocean. @ 2pm I picked up my docs and my next move was dhl for waybill but I was short of 3.3k. FedEx is 16k but it still did not solve the 3.3k deficit. Calling anyone for money wasn't an option and I had to stick to my 20k budget. If you're wondering why I didn't use Nipost or whatever, well my deadline is 31st May and I need it delivered within 2-3days. @ dhl office The nice lady: Good afternoon , how may I help you? Me: I have a package for Germany, school docs to be precise The nice lady: it would cost you N18,200 Me: these are school docs and I want a discount. I thought she would just laugh at my silly comment of "discount" but instead she looked at me typed sth in the computer and said: "erh...uhm...OK actually we have student discount and it would cost me N13,200 instead. Nah wow ooo!!! Me: So you people do student discount and you never mentioned it and I spent 18.2k the last time hmmm...there's God ooo The nice lady: sorry I forgot to mention it and its just a new policy. I knew she was lying but thank God sha. On my way home I met two people I haven't seen for sometime. The first was a young girl she is a hardworking apprentice hairdresser. I dashed her 500 naira maybe because I was in goodmood and I just saved extra money from dhl. The 2nd person was a schoolmate, he was excited to see me and said we should go hangout that he would pay. God knows I was very hungry and haven't eaten since morning. Oh boy! I ate and drank more than my initial I.8k budget for food and transport, he even dropped me off at my place. I know my post is long but who cares? I met an old friend, I'm 6000naira richer and God watches over me ![]() |
realsamsonite1:It is no longer done through the booking system, like pitapromise said it's done via email. Besides that's the first "Notice" you'll see if you open the embassy website, under Visa information. |
authe911:Yes, like Raemond said. Get your transcript whether addressed locally, internationally or to an office address, photocopy it, then certify the photocopy and apply with other certified docs that the school requires. NB: Don't apply with any originals because you'll never get it back. |
zizytd:Click on the icon "fees and payment". Your answers are there. |
Rapahel1116:Interesting argument!! Goethe Vs Private teacher I have tested both waters and I must say both are good. The aim of Goethe is to teach the german language while the aim of a private teacher is to make sure you pass the exam. For goethe passing exam is based on your personal effort and to a private teacher knowing the language is your concern. Why do you think after learning English from JSS1 to SSS3 in a classroom people still go and get a private english language teacher to help pass English in WAEC, IELTS or TOEFL?...THINK!!!. You may know a language but fail exams or you can know how to score As but not know how to express yourself properly. Know what you want and decide. If your aim is to really learn the language you know where to go If the aim is only to bag certificates your choice. If your aim is both then go to Goethe and also get a private tutor, Nah your money kill am. Please oooo. I never said if you go to Goethe you will fail your exam neither did I say if you take private teacher you won't understand German. Its all about personal effort. |
jboyjoel:Good profile... Lets assume you're going for Msc so your question is; How to secure admission into a University in Germany? 1. For a start use google, DAAD or study-in de sites to find a program. 2. Make your choice(s) 3. Visit the University website and inform yourself about requirements, deadlines etc 4. Make sure you meet requirements and have the relevant documents 5. Apply to the school through the instruction given. NB: application could be online or by posting certified documents to the school address or following the uni-assist procedure...depending on each school 4. Wait for admission letter....Time duration? I don't know That is basically how to secure a University admission in Germany. |
Marael:That's a good idea coz I assume you're in 1st year & you'll be above 18 by then. About scholarship I'll advice you do your own research You'll start afresh if you choose to use 1/2 yrs transcript but if you complete your study with a good GPA then you can go for a Masters instead. You may seem confused and need outside advice but All we can do here is make suggestions. You alone knows what's best for you |
TheDreamChaser:Very motivational... There's a growing number of Canadian dropouts on the german thread. Lol. I once had the Canada fever ![]() |
Marael:If you have been following the thread for 3mths you should know a lot BUT because you are young, curious and asked so politely then I'm going to be patient with you ![]() 1. Normally one needs a minimum of 1/2 yrs study at university transcript, or HND or better still a Bsc. Another alternative is going to Studientkollege. (Its a one year schooling you do in Germany before getting university admission. Since you say you are in uni then your chances are Good. 2. It depends on if the school you are applying to requested it. Generally learning german is advisably but not compulsory. 3. I dont understand what you mean by "How easy is it to Finding a Sponsor?" but If you have people that are willing to sponsor you then you are good to go. There are scholarships available too 4. Not very sure here...Yes since you haven't completed your degree to prove english proficiency. Passing English in waec is irrelevant. You said you're 16. Do you have family in Germany? I may be wrong but I'm not sure if embassy allows under 18 to study and live alone in Germany |
TheDreamChaser:Congrats...you chased a dream and won! |
BedLam:I hope you know that you don't apply with original documents. If you do then what do you need scanned/ certified photocopies back for nah? |
ziggy3579:I wish someone could answer you but it seems like people are not conversant with this type of block account funding. We hope you share your successful experience with Finitba here with us so we learn ![]() |
Khalifa22:Do some research by googling German embassy website...the list is there. |
gracious136:Not a problem. Unless I'm wrong but I've not heard of anyone who was rejected because of laminated documents |
