30 something year old players are mercenaries. You don’t need to build your team around them. You just need them to help you for one or two years until you sign good players. Mercenaries don’t stay on the bench, playing everytime is how their stocks are marketed. Zlatan is another example.

ETH should have been real with the guy and let him know that he is building a team, and may not be able to give him time on the pitch. Also, I believe if they had not put a tag on him, some clubs would have signed him.

The thing is counter attack is not sustainable in the long run since most teams you guys will meet will not teams not set up to be counter-attacked. Even Madrid dominate small teams and try to break them down with Modric, Vinicius (most especially) and rodrygo. Man city are kings of breaking teams down as well as Liverpool.

Granted, you can score counter once in a while, but to make it your standard style of play is a big no no

This guy gets it. I don’t have issues with playing counter attacking styles against the big boys. Man Utd is struggling against small teams. If they don’t come out to play, we can’t score. Not sure we would achieve anything if things continue this way.
