The likes of Madrid/Chelsea make a lot from player sales because they have sensible people in charge of those negotiations. Madrid would have gotten like 30m to 40m from Sanchez sale.

But in our own club, we have fools who handout bumper contracts to players who do next to nothing which directly affects their transfer fees when we want to sell.

If United, cant use money from player sales to bankroll transfers, then they can at least use income from other sources to do that....but they cant coz they have to first of all pay themselves consultancy fees and then service debts they incurred on the club with whatever is left.

We sold Ronaldo for 80m. But we used 30m to buy 2 average joes in Obertan and Valencia just to replace Ronaldo.
The remaining 50m must have been used to payoff the Glazers for their troubles.
Naso the thing dey work na, you think they just share transfer proceeds. I wont be suprised if the Glazers have taken less than 500m pounds from the club since 2005. Of course, I can access the financial statements and extract consultancy fees and dividends paid till date.

Exactly what they've been doing. We all know that we dont get a lot from transfers, but we are competing with the big boys in terms of outflow.

No. They don’t spend for 1-2 seasons and then slow down. They spend UNTIL they get the team they’re looking for. It could take them 3-5 years and they will keep spending. They only relax AFTER they get their team.
I have already provided Madrid's outflows between 2007 and 2020. The trend is not what you think, data suggests otherwise.

How na? Tell me what you see below:

Outflow of 106m in 07/08,
74m in 08/09,
232.6m in 09/10,
83.7 in 10/11, and
49.5m in 11/12.

Tell me the trend. They spent heavily in 2009/10, but then, the following 2 years, they spent 130m.

Madrid spent heavily- very heavily - before they got this current team that won multiple UCLs (which is becoming old too BTW). Kaka, Modric, C. Ronaldo, Bale, James Rodriguez etc.

The team that won their last UCL had Zidane, Ronaldo9 , Roberto Carlos, Figo, etc.

They only reduced their inflows when there was success on the pitch and they saw no need for it.

Don’t be surprised if they start spending heavily again.
We are saying the same thing. Madrid spends heavily for like 1-2 years, then slows down for 3-4 seasons, pick things up again afterward. Average spend per year is not up to 200m per year. In the last decade, average spend (not net spend o) was 123.6m Euros per season.

https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/ole-praises-man-united-scouting-department-as-window-opens

Please call out OGS for point and kill stuffs. Ask the Glazers to sack/replace Matt Judge, Nicky Butt, Marcel Bout, Mick Court, and the entire Scouting dept. The Glazers are just shareholders, they dont directly manage the club. They are okay with the departments, if you dont like it, tell them to restructure the depts. When there are issues in companies, the media and market focus on the management, not the shareholders. The market puts pressure on the board to sack the management team, not tell the shareholders to sell!

But who said we must spend 200m? With a proper system in place, 120 - 150m can get you very good players with potentials to become great...

Chelsea with Werner, Ziyech, Chilwell, Kai (likely) won't have cost them more than 250m but if we were signing those players, we have spent over 350m and have you come here to say we have spent enough...The problem is deep, we over pay for players especially players who aren't world beaters...
Then start calling out our scouts and negotiators, not Woodward and the Glazers. Also, managers do point and kill, call them out too, dont support OGS even though he replaced 'deadwoods' with Magwaya, AWB, James and Ighalo.

Must it be Sancho? Also, most of you want the Glazers to fork out another 200m to buy a defender to support dem Magwaya, one midfielder, a RW and a striker. No be lie? Only 1 or 2 players wont make OGS change his behaviour of starting same 11 players!

Also, four out of those players played Europa league and UCl finals, while Smalling is doing okay at Roma.

1-2 additions is a reasonable ask. It will happen, but I think fans want 4-5 additions because they see other clubs doing wonders in the market. Fans want OGS to replace 11 players at once, and OGS has stup1dly released 8 players instead of doing what ever overhaul he wants to do gradually.

Madrid is one of those clubs u said United should emulate. They are top 3 richest club in the world like us. They have spent an average of 200m per season for the last 2 seasons just to win the league. They have been breaking transfer revords since time immemorial to stay at the top. They dont have 2 heads.
Yes, they spent average of 200m but they did average of 110m in inflows to reduce that.

2019/20 Madrid's outflow was 317.25m and inflow was 117m
2018/19, Madrid's outflow was 146.48m and inflow was 120.69m

BTW, why did you not pick last 5 years or something? see below transfer flows between 2014 and 2018. Madrid spent less than 100m in 3 seasons and slightly above 100m in one season. Dont even talk about net spend o, just outflow. It shows that Madrid, one of the big boys actually dont spend heavily everytime. They change managers to utilize what they have.

2017/18, Madrid's outflow was 36.45m and inflow was 115.64m
2016/17, Madrid's outflow was 27m and inflow was 33.75m
2015/16, Madrid's outflow was 76.5m and inflow was 14.09m
2014/15, Madrid's outflow was 113.4m and inflow was 101.4m

Two years ago, Madrid's net spend in 5 seasons was -95m (negative), and they won 4 UCL trophies.

Been a while I saw this monicker. The crisis brought you back? Lol

We actually need just about two signings, I don't think it's too much an ask. If dem no sign, we'll have to play catch up all season. Anyone with eyes and brain knows this first team needs reinforcement. We've steadily released/sold players these past two windows. If we fail to sign, Ole would most likely fail, then gets sacked, new manager comes in, gets a solid transfer, then is left hanging again. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Dont worry, they will sign 1-2 players, but dont expect 4-5 players. Fans are expecting the club to sign 4-5 players because they can see Chelsea doing great in the transfer market.

They will def add 1-2 players. Watch!

what's the implication of this? it's the same reason fans are telling you that the Glazers are fleecing the club.
if United made £260m from transfer market, where will the money end up?
how did Ronaldo's money improve the squad the following season?
from UCL finalists to having a spend equalling that of Wigan Athletic, yet you need miracles of a UCL trophy the next season. Fergie the magician ei?
that's why I asked if you even watched the video.
Having inflows through transfer dealings means you can spend more because net spend is almost zero. Essentially, you are saying that having less inflow is justified because the money will be taken out by the Glazers. Nawa for you o.

let's be reasonable, when has the board spent £200m before ever?? when have they spent that twice in a role?

let's forget the past and all it's conjectures. let's even look at it since Ole's appointment so when next you shout sack sack sack, you'd realise how you sound.

the man has been on the job for a season and half. when he came in, the team just got battered 3-0 at Anfield and had absolutely no direction.

now look at the hard facts: in that time he's lost nine first team players and I'd list them for those with a short memory
1. Mourane Fellaini
2. Ander Herrera
3. Matteo Darmian
4. Chris Smalling
5. Marcos Rojo
6. Romelu Lukaku
8. Alexis Sanchez
9. Anthony Valencia

the ins
1. Aaron wan Bissaka
2. Harry Maguire
3. Dan James
4. Bruno Fernandes
5. Odion Ighalo

now on the balance of things, Ole needs about 4 players to level. if we look at the commitment to youth development and say Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams have come through, we still need at least two players because thrusting such youth into the deep end as starting 11 players for the whole season is unreasonable.

Ole finished second, made the semis of all competitions he played, tell us how you want the team to go further when we finished 33 points behind Liverpool.
you have been quick to bring up Chelsea and their businesses, why should that be a benchmark for Man Utd? even if we look at the facts again, how many players have left Chelsea since Lampard's appointment and how many have come in?

we are some way off the top teams, there's no doubt that the board lacks ambition if Ole is not backed this season. saving him or not will not directly impact the fortune of this club if same business model is kept. it's as simple as that.
Please, understand what I am saying o. I did not say we have spent 200m every year, I said we cant be spending 200m every year (as expected by Fans), it's not sustainable! Also, we are one of the big spenders in Europe!

Ole has lost Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Darmian, Herera, Fellaini, Sanchez, Lukaku. Eight players.

He has only replaced Valencia, Smalling and Fellaini with the bulk of the 200m you keep yapping about. Yet to replace Lukaku, Sanchez, Herera.

But...but...we have spent money and the Glazers have tried.
Have we spent or not? Na only Utd dey buy players that eventually flop? Shey all our new players flop?

The players that OGS lost, please dont tell me that all of them are deadwoods. How sensible is release or lose 8 players in a single transfer window/season, when you dont have replacements lined up? How possible to replace 8-10 players in just 2 seasons without spending up to 500m, which could lead to bankruptcy? Why replacing 'deadwoods' with 'deadwoods'?

So, who do we blame for the negotiations? The Glazers are not in charge of that. Blame the manager(s), scouts and those in charge of negotiations. Why not go to small leagues/clubs, buy relatively unknown players for cheap, and get them to become the best players in the league.

The club is about to go on a basic 46 matches next season, any progress can potentially increase that number to 60.

These guys might overwhelm teams with massive attacking football for the first 10 to 15 matches, but what happens after that?
But OGS decided to stick with same starting 11, when we had players on the bench. You dont neglect your Corolla because you have a Bugatti, one day your Buggati will breakdown because it's tired, and then your Corolla will refuse to start.

Guys, let's be realistic with our expectations. Football in England has changed big time, Fergie won so many titles because other teams could not compete in terms of funds and quality. When Roman came on board in 2004, they won 2 EPLs back to back, Fergie took some time to adjust, City came on board spending heavily and they've also enjoyed success, it's Liverpool's turn.

I am so sure that if Fergie was still around, we probably would have won just 1 or 2 EPL trophies between 2013 and 2020, not because of net spend, but his experience.

If OGS does'nt make top 4 (whether we spend or not) this season, sack him and bring another manager. It's working for other clubs, spending is not our problem, so, stop the emotional stuff!

Meanwhile, you guys will go online and say bad stuffs about our players making them not marketable. Chelsea got good money last season from player sales, and they are spending just slightly above that. You are only looking at the outflow, what about the inflows?
