A better index would have been comparing what JM spent to what his rivals spent in 04-07, and then what Pep spent to what his rivals spent in the present era.

Same result, if I compare Klopp's 393m pounds to Pep's 666m pounds. Klopp has won a UCL, and is going to win an EPL trophy this season. Pep has won 2 EPL trophies.

Okay, I know it took Klopp about 6 years to get to the top, but he spent less. Pep is a cheque-book manager. He can't succeed without huge funds. All managers that won EPL trophies in the last few years have won without breaking the bank.
