Nitta08:Oops! This post was actually meant for the visit visa group. |
I know someone whose dad was denied a visitor’s visa for the first time in 15 years. He was told he’s eligible, but the visa can’t be issued due to the ban. Just sharing…do with that information what you will. |

Does Avits update an applicant’s profile after a successful interview? I find it weird that my mom’s account still shows appointment scheduled and she has since collected her passport. |
My mom’s visa was approved in Abuja. Transcript - VO: What’s your reason for visiting the US? Mom: I am going for my daughter’s wedding which is going to take place on Bleep at Bleep. She is my first and only daughter. I have not seen her for the past 7 years. (Shows wedding invitation card) The officer smiled and told her congratulations. VO: Are you married? Mom: Yes, of course VO: What do you do for a living? Mom: I am a school principal at Bleep VO: How many children do you have? Mom: Only two VO: Oh the first one is the one getting married? Mom: Yes VO: Where is the second one? Mom: My son is in Bleep Europe. VO: Congratulations, I will be approving your visa. She wasn’t asked to present any documents. |
Hi guys, please is there a way to request for document delivery to Akwa Ibom state? I see passport pick up locations in PH and other major areas but not Akwa Ibom state and surrounding states. And does anyone know how long it takes before one gets their passport back? |
Zeni06:Oh great, Thank you. |
Good morning guys! I just want to confirm if it is true that one must go to the embassy at least once before their scheduled interview date. I recently heard that and not sure how true it is. Thank you |
NorthernshoreTS:This is interesting. I have 2 friends that started PhD programs after their masters and tried renewing their visas. I remember them telling me they could send their passports to Nigeria and all that, but they were too scared to do it. And they were scared to travel to Mexico as well to renew their visas in person. I think a friend of theirs did send her passport to Nigeria but I did not follow up with the story. I’ll find out what happened. Your friend should have driven to Tijuana Mexico to renew her passport since she lives in SD. It’s only about 45mins - an hour away and she doesn’t need a visa to enter. That would have saved her all these stress. F1 visa renewal is only necessary if one has plans of traveling outside the country and back. |
OyoTunjiUSA:Got it! I will do that. Thank you so much😊 |
OtunOba15:Congratulations to your mom! Please do you know what questions she was asked? Were you her sponsor? Was she asked to show a bank statement and was the bank statement in your name or her name? I’m sorry for all the questions but I just booked dates for my parents and trying to have them prepared and ready. Thank you |

OyoTunjiUSA:Oh wow I did not know this. Can you please help me out here? I submitted my parents DS160 using Lagos as their location but booked their visa appointments on the new site in Abuja. Is this going to be a problem? I went back and forth between Abuja and Lagos a month ago because I could not get a convenient date on the old platform before the migration. I had to pay new visa fees on this new platform and was able to get separate dates. Is this going to be a problem for them? Or should I fill out a new Ds160 for Abuja and have them take both DS160 to their interview? |
OyoTunjiUSA:I logged out and in and was able to get a date. Thank you so much. |
Nitta08:I figured it out. It’s stated on the website no group appointments. Another question- when I pick a date and a time that is highlighted in green as available, it keeps showing slot is already used and then when I check my dashboard, it shows pending appointment request. Please what does that mean and what are the next steps? |
Pls does anyone know how to create a group application in the new system? It keeps giving me an error when I click on new appointment request. I’m not sure if I have to create a profile first before the group appointment request. Please help, thank you. |
[quote author=kweje post=126158106 It depends on which country, your travel history is to. They share background info with US, UK, Australia and Ireland. Means you didn't declare your travel history. Misrepresentation is taken very seriously by IRCC if discovered. Pray for the best.[/quote]Thank you. So I’m safe then. It’s China and Ukraine. |
Will Canada check to confirm if I have traveled to other countries before? I indicated No in the form. Reason that my previous travel was for school but I did not pull through due to health challenges. I also indicated health reasons on my SOP why there’s a wide gap from secondary to now for bachelors. Thank you |
zubizareta:Okay, thank you. |
Hi everyone, Please do I have to explain the relationship with my sponsor on my SOP? |
Hello, please how can I get visa appointment? School resumes early October. Thank you |
Thank you so much! I did not apply for a visa. I got a residence permit. I applied from Ukraine. honestlytrue: |
Hi all, please I need help with an accommodation in Portugal. I’m coming in next month and looking for accommodation has been a hassle. Please help. Thank you! |
divinefavour06:Hello, I sent you a mail as well. I am interested in a bachelors degree in Spain |
ffo:The remote job ended once he left Ukraine. I will look into the nomad visa. Thank you |
BunmiBie:Thank you. |
chibertha:Thanks for the response but I’ll like to make it clear. 1. I am not an agent. I was on this thread months ago asking questions about my brother’s situation and people said I was an agent which was disappointing. 2. I benefitted from this thread in 2018 when I had my interview, posted my transcript and I tried to give back as time allowed me then till life got busy here. 3. I am aware of all the rules of a student visa in the US as I was a student. I was just trying to figure out what the issue could have been as to why he was refused a visa on talking about the job he did in Ukraine. 4. The only F1 admission and visa application I’ve ever done was mine back in 2018. I always refer people to this thread to read and do their research as I did, when they indicate interest of coming to the US. So I am not a pro in anyway which is why this situation may have gotten messed and that’s why I came back here again hoping to get answers and not being called an agent a second time. I will appreciate it if you refrain from addressing me that way. Thank you |
Hi everyone, My brother was denied a visa twice in Poland. He was studying medicine and surgery in Ukraine before the war. And got admitted for Public Health at Sam Houston State University Texas. He wasn’t asked any questions today just if has been refused before and if he was working which he explained that he did a remote job when the war started while applying to further his studies. The first time was the same issue about job. Now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t have put it in his DS160. I also just got to find out that working while on a student visa in Ukraine is illegal just as it is in the US. Could that be the reason? Is there a way I can rectify this? I didn’t take it out this second time because I was told to be consistent since they have records. Should I take it out and he can say it was an error? Please I need advice on what to do and how to move forward. Thank you |
Hello all please I have a question - Is it okay to let the VO know that you intend to transfer sevis to another school on getting to the US because you eventually got your study choice? Background: my brother was studying medicine and surgery in Ukraine before the war started. He got admitted in a school in the US for undergrad Biology as a pathway to medical school after 4 years. He has been issued an i20 and I just paid his sevis on Thursday after stalling a bit for other admission decisions. Only for me to discover that he just got admitted to another university for health sciences. I was told that it would be easy to convince the VO why he is going for health sciences instead of Biology. And he should not mention the fact that it is a path way to med school because they can look at his bank statement now in anticipation of how he will pay for med school 4 years later. Now is there a way to transfer the sevis I paid to this new school and apply for a visa with this new school? Or should he let the VO know he intends to transfer? Will it raise red flags that he is going for biology after studying medicine and surgery for two years? Should he mention at any point during his interview that the biology he is going for is a path way to med school? Please I need advice on how to handle this. Thank you |
Can I apply for study by myself or do I have to use an agent to apply? Is Duolingo accepted in place of IELTS? |
Malone122:Okay, thank you. |
CharitoJames:Two agents told me so. One said only if the applicant can show proof why there’s a gap. |
