[quote author=kweje post=126158106 It depends on which country, your travel history is to. They share background info with US, UK, Australia and Ireland. Means you didn't declare your travel history. Misrepresentation is taken very seriously by IRCC if discovered. Pray for the best. [/quote] Thank you. So I’m safe then. It’s China and Ukraine. |

Will Canada check to confirm if I have traveled to other countries before? I indicated No in the form. Reason that my previous travel was for school but I did not pull through due to health challenges. I also indicated health reasons on my SOP why there’s a wide gap from secondary to now for bachelors. Thank you |

chibertha: Thanks for the response but I’ll like to make it clear. 1. I am not an agent. I was on this thread months ago asking questions about my brother’s situation and people said I was an agent which was disappointing. 2. I benefitted from this thread in 2018 when I had my interview, posted my transcript and I tried to give back as time allowed me then till life got busy here. 3. I am aware of all the rules of a student visa in the US as I was a student. I was just trying to figure out what the issue could have been as to why he was refused a visa on talking about the job he did in Ukraine. 4. The only F1 admission and visa application I’ve ever done was mine back in 2018. I always refer people to this thread to read and do their research as I did, when they indicate interest of coming to the US. So I am not a pro in anyway which is why this situation may have gotten messed and that’s why I came back here again hoping to get answers and not being called an agent a second time. I will appreciate it if you refrain from addressing me that way. Thank you 4 Likes |

Hi everyone, My brother was denied a visa twice in Poland. He was studying medicine and surgery in Ukraine before the war. And got admitted for Public Health at Sam Houston State University Texas. He wasn’t asked any questions today just if has been refused before and if he was working which he explained that he did a remote job when the war started while applying to further his studies. The first time was the same issue about job. Now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t have put it in his DS160. I also just got to find out that working while on a student visa in Ukraine is illegal just as it is in the US. Could that be the reason? Is there a way I can rectify this? I didn’t take it out this second time because I was told to be consistent since they have records. Should I take it out and he can say it was an error? Please I need advice on what to do and how to move forward. Thank you |

Hello all please I have a question - Is it okay to let the VO know that you intend to transfer sevis to another school on getting to the US because you eventually got your study choice? Background: my brother was studying medicine and surgery in Ukraine before the war started. He got admitted in a school in the US for undergrad Biology as a pathway to medical school after 4 years. He has been issued an i20 and I just paid his sevis on Thursday after stalling a bit for other admission decisions. Only for me to discover that he just got admitted to another university for health sciences. I was told that it would be easy to convince the VO why he is going for health sciences instead of Biology. And he should not mention the fact that it is a path way to med school because they can look at his bank statement now in anticipation of how he will pay for med school 4 years later. Now is there a way to transfer the sevis I paid to this new school and apply for a visa with this new school? Or should he let the VO know he intends to transfer? Will it raise red flags that he is going for biology after studying medicine and surgery for two years? Should he mention at any point during his interview that the biology he is going for is a path way to med school? Please I need advice on how to handle this. Thank you |

Can I apply for study by myself or do I have to use an agent to apply? Is Duolingo accepted in place of IELTS? 1 Like |

gentilityndu: I'm not 'desperately' in need of an agent. I'm trying to have my kid brother transferred to another medicine and surgery school in Ukraine that is affordable with more Nigerians attending. I noticed schools in Ukraine don't deal directly with students. The agent we used before to get him to his current school messed us up. If there are schools that I can contact directly for admission, I'll appreciate suggestions. Thank you. |

Felizz: Huh? What? $74k for one year? SOS Abort mission! I repeat, Abort mission!!! That is mad expensive. Plus it is in LA county which is also an expensive place in California. Housing will.be mad, plus transportation. Don't depend on receiving a GA or TA on arrival cos it is difficult if you are not lucky to get it before arrival. It's mostly made available after the first semester. Besides it's stipend which won't help much. And if you don't pay your fees then that's another wahala. Different schools have different rules. Listen to what everyone is saying and don't make that terrible mistake. Look for another school. |

So guys, I'm in the US. Here's my experience: Booked Royal Air Maroc from Lagos. Flight was for 6:05am 13th August. Arrived Casablanca at 10.30am. RAM delayed my flight twice. Waited for 28hrs in Casablanca Morocco before finally leaving for New York. Left Casablanca at 3pm on the 14th. ....my stay in Casablanca...Lovely staff, ready to help even though it's hard to communicate as they don't speak English. Just a handful of them do. But BAD food. I was lucky to get a good spot at the lounge....nice beds though. I was told that the hotel rooms got filled up pretty fast. Arrived JFK at 6pm. Didn't get off the plane till about 6:30. The border control officer only did my biometrics and asked where I was heading to, course of study, if it was my first time in the US and if I had any foods or drinks. I reached out to get my documents asking if he wanted to see any and he said not to bother, he trusts me. Baggage claim took more than 40mins before I could get my bags. Met with my school staff waiting to welcome and receive international students. It was pretty late already... 8pm US time. There was a shuttle provided to get to school. I've kinda settled in but I need to complete my sleep. 27 Likes 1 Share |

Robert6708: No!No!!No!!! This is a totally wrong and inappropriate way of addressing someone who came to this forum to seek for solution and advice to get out of a messy situation his first day in the US. If you could not render help, you should have not commented at all. That being said, your tone is rather rude and unjustly. 23 Likes |
