It does not. As long as you pay the application fee for both. Admission decisions are made my departments not necessarily the general graduate admissions board. In fact, what the latter do is to see if you meet all the stipulated criteria set by the committee and then they forward the application to the department.

If u have an application fee of 50$ to pay, I have 50$ available at 400/$. I was supposed to use it for my application, but later realized that my actual app fee if 55$ and not 50$. Please send me a pm if interested.

Thanks and thanks. Hmmm, if that is the case then I may have to strike them off my list as I may not meet the Dec 15th deadline. However, as is my custom, I mailed the Grad coordinator for the department and this is what I got as feedback:
The deadline to apply for the Fall 2017 semester is January 8th, 2017, unfortunately the Spring deadline has already passed. If interested more for the spring semesters the next deadline for that is August 1st, 2017.
Except he was trying to say "priority" in the place of spring as I did not ask him about a spring deadline. In any case, I'd see if I can rush my application this night but the TOEFL may be a significant handicap as it is unreleased at the moment. If they actually meant December 15th, then I'd have to thank you for saving my $85.

I was at JKK building yesterday to take TOEFL. I have to say the exam is getting more difficult. The passages were as abstruse, recondite and esoteric as a GRE reading comprehension passage. Nevertheless, it was a good dress rehearsal for the main course of GRE on 6 January. I realized that nothing compares to the real thing, I was really surprised by how much I found it difficult to grasp the passages (And I consider myself an excellent reader). That might be a problem for GRE but thankfully not for TOEFL, since you always know where to find answers. Another thing is that it helps a lot to be conversant with the format of the exam. I can't stress enough the importance of taking full length practice tests.

Thanks Nitta08. I used roughly two weeks to prepare, but was on and off because I was putting in my applications at the time. I only focused on it a day to the exam. I knew I was not really prepared for the speaking section.
I used the Toefl official guide from ETS, the free interactive sampler on ETS website and I watched NoteFull videos from the NoteFull website.

BY Mafit doesn't have anything to do with sending your score to your school of interest. All they do is register you for the exam. The rest is ets job.
