I have already sent them an email and they just replied me this morning that they've passed my request to the PTDF management that I should expect their decision soon.
Following these update, I suggest we also send them follow up email for them to consider it giving the high prices of flight tickets since there are no travel allowances from them.
Ok. Welldone Man.

I sympathise with you but you really need to book your flight and come down for the interview, let me quickly remind you of what you might need to know, PTDF is very careful of her trainings and some people are already on scholarships outside the country and they dont wanna come back to Nigeria again all they want is to get trained while they are still outside the country at the detriment of public fund. Some also haven't completed their masters degree and they wanna get PhD in advance. Again, our dishonest, as people might not encourage them to do virtual interview, you might be real and honest but some nasty people will still use the same pattern to commit fraud. we must really clean up ourselves. Finally PTDF needs visual citation of the all acclaimed certificates on the Day of interview which might not be possible for a virtual/conferencing interview. My humble advice is that you should start making arrangements to come back for the Interview, I wish you all the very best.

Note
You can still push on if you are honest, probably you might have a GO!

Yours ELLACITY
Valid points raised @ Ellacity.

But I have to say, in my opinion, there is really no difference between physical and virtual interview. Regarding scammers, I believe every certificate presented (online or physically), can always be checked for genuineness from the awarding schools. People can still physically turn up with physical certificates from Oluwole, if that is the issue here. Also, as regards those still doing MSc, I think PTDF permits it, as long as you finish before start of your PhD and with good grades too.

For instance, I got called for Commonwealth interview last December and truth is, there was no way I could make it, cos I was fully engaged in my present location and what my supervisors kept asking was, "Can they really not do Skype Interview"? lol. While I (and I think, most people in my shoes), might be fully available to attend this present interview now and we would, but then, that doesn't mean the pertinent question should not be asked, which is; do we really have to travel for this? I mean these days, companies do all test and interview processes online and you only get called to their office, mostly to resume work or for admission to assessment centers (for graduate jobs). Point is, there is really no basis to demand candidates should physically travel to attend interview, not in this present age.

That being said, I fully admit the organizers have the final say on how they wanna run their show undecided.. and we got to abide by their rules grin... lol.

I fully support your proposition NJN. At least it will save such persons the stress and maybe save PTDF the transport allowance (i.e if there is any) that they give for travel inconveniences. I'm with you on this and I've sent you an email.
Hello 4onzylala,

Seen and responded to your email.

@ stone123 and all interested, since PhD invites are already been sent out, I suggest we send this mail to PTDF/Flexi guys today or Monday latest.

My suggestion though. What do you guys think?

Ph.D. PTDF Interview Information
The interviews are scheduled to hold from Monday the 24th to Friday the 28th of July 2017 at the PTDF Towers, Memorial Drive, Central Business District, Abuja; further details of your specific schedule (date and time) will be forwarded to you within the coming days.
For the exercise, you will need to prepare and bring the following:
Original copies of all relevant academic credentials used for the scholarship application
8 copies of your research proposal
A valid national I.D.
Printout of your application slip

Please check your email regularly for updates on your personal interview schedule.

More Info coming soon
Thanks for the info flexisafsupport.

Like I asked earlier, is there a possibility of conducting this interview via a video conference/call, say over skype or any other similar medium, for applicants who are not presently in Nigeria. Since it's an interview, it can be completely done over video call and still have same outcome.

Also, if you are a PhD applicant who is currently not in the country and who wouldn't mind doing this interview via Video call, Stone123 suggested we maybe try getting across to the PTDF officials and make a case for a video call, instead of having to travel down to Nigeria. The suggestion was to do this as a group though. Incase you are interested, you can please message me or simply send an email to idearules01@gmail.com

Thank you.

Hello Flexi staff,

Just to confirm. Is there any possibility of doing the interview for PhD applicants via Skype?

For instance, for applicants that are not presently in the country?

It would be really helpful if that provision could be made.

NDDC is very corrupt, so anything is possible. But if at all Anambra indigenes got the scholarship, they must have gone through backdoor and not the usual application process.

Hello guys,

Would like to ask a rather "dumb" question...

So, I understand NDDC is for Niger-Deltans and Imo/Ondo. However, a friend reliably told me some candidates from Anambra successfully got it recently (didn't ask the year).

Anybody with info as to whether an indigene of Anambra can actually apply for this. Would like to know, so as to save some applicants from wasting their time if it ain't true.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry about the plenty questions. Alternatively, if I could get referred to a site that has ll these answers..I'll be glad.

If you are trying to use school accommodation you will have to show that you have permission.

Your friend will need to show that the accommodation is suitable and that they have permission to have you there.
It might be simpler to apply using hotel booking for one or two days.

However, the idea is for my friend to stay with me in the school accommodation. Is this a good option or do I still go ahead and book the hotel?

Hello guys,

Please, for someone who wants to invite another to the UK ( a friend). Just 2 weeks visit. The person in the UK is a student and wants to invite his friend over for a 2-week stay. , what's the best way to go about it? what kinda visa is best suitable. Also, what are the requirements?

I've done some internet search but none seems to cater for this particular scenario, from the results I've gotten thus far.

Thank you.

Please can sum1 enlighten me more on dis PTA Ish.cos I really want to bypass excessive international charges.
PTA (Personal Travel Allowance) affords you the opportunity to buy dollars directly from a bank, using your naira account, at the bank's official rate.

I know some banks used to allow non-account holders to buy from them also, though at a higher rate than account holders. Don't know about now though, since the recent squeeze on fcy transactions BO CBN.

It's major plus is dt u don't get charged exorbitant rate for your fcy needs, as would have been obtainable when u buy from BDCs and blackmarkets.

If I may advise, I'll say you buy PTA basically to meet your "pocket money' needs. If u have other bills to pay, say accomodatn etc..try and push as many of them as possible under Form A...reason being that, with PTA, u buy at bank's official rate while with Form A, you buy at CBN official rate, which is way way lower than most bank's official rate.

To buy PTA, you need the following;

Your Visa, Data Page of your Int'l Passport, Flight Ticket and of course, the bank wld give u an application form to fill.

Others with more info I didn't mention could equally add...

MrMarcus:
Greetings!

Mine was one way.
However you might get that lucky like me though CBN policy says its a return ticket thing.

what I did; with a lot of smiles, I pleaded with the lady to call her boss and request since I met other criteria to which the man on the other end of the line told her to use my admission letter.
Thus it depends on who you met and the persons mood. its a flexible rule.

Thanks.
Usually, you need a return ticket to buy PTA (In addition to visa, int"l passport and applicatn form). However, if a student is travelling out for studies, you don't need no return ticket as that is completely not applicable in this case. So, as suggested above, if the person attending to you doesn't know this, make him/her refer to his/her supervisor or contact their customer care if they both do not know...lol

Well, personally, if it's the tradition, it shld be observed. Minus the "killings and other negative stuffs dt's done in the name of traditions' I am in full support of us maintaining certain aspects of our traditions. It's sad to see we are gradually loosing touch of who we "were". Kids don't speak their native languages anymore, peeps are changing d way and manner dr names are written to English (Femi to Phemmy, etc) and a whole lot.

We need to maintain our history/culture, derive pride in them... (cos they really matter).

We got lots to learn from China, Malaysia, India and even our northern brethren in ds country abt becoming world leaders without loosing ourselves in the process!!!

I understand that all documents submitted to the UK uni would be resubmitted to the embassy. About my transcript, for economical reasons, I used a transcript used for an American uni to apply to this particular Uk uni tho, so it bore the name of the American Uni on it. The Uk Uni accepted it nonetheless. Hope the Uk embassy will overlook the American Uni name on the transcript just like the Uk Uni.
Hello,

I believe it's only the cover letter that bears the address to the school. U can detach that and submit the other pages wch shld contain the name of ur school, ur subjects/scores per semester and school official's signatures. That's what I used and I got a positive response.

how can one link the IHS he has paid earlier to the visa application profile.
I actually paid for the IHS in June but its requesting that I pay again while applying for the VISA.
thanks.
Hello,

There is no linking. The fee is integrated into the UK Visas Applicatn process now. So, technically, u have to pay for it again while applying for your VISA. Then, u go ahead and request for a refund of the one you paid in June. That's the route, from July 4, 2015., subject to when these guys change it again. Like they have a penchant for changing dr stuffs every week ... lol. smiley

You are such a darling. You have been very helpful. I have a current account and i have my certificate. I would ask for more info when i get to the bank. One que, how long does it take to reflect in the school's account? Do u have any idea?
In addition to kokegbe's response, Form A could be as fast as 24hrs (I'm very certain of Banks like First bank, Diamond and Keystone on this).
Also, as per charges, if you are very charge sensitive smiley I'll suggest you use Form A instead of the card option. If you use the card option, you'll be buying at the bank rate, while Form A gives you access to CBN rate (with minimal charges). Trust me, on a payment of £10,000, you could b saving up to 200k.
