I buy the idea of the e-mail group, so far the idea is about a common group to fight corruption and injustice in Nigeria n instill fiscal discipline, justice and fairness. Point is, where do we go from here cos obviously, it wouldn't b good for us all to disperse. This country is not worth giving up on. If we do, the corrupt would have won. Let's keep up the struggle till victory becomes assured! I supported Buhari/Bakare cos the were to me a symbol of a fiscally responsible and corrput-free (or at least corrupt-reduced) Nigeria. It wasn't about the persons but what I believe they represented. that is what I blv we should keep up! |
@ Nobody knows wetin happen to A.C.N o. We shall hear d full gist sha, if not now, later but eventually, we'll know was up. |
In Idah, Kogi State (My Town)lol , very funny. Really, I fear for this country. What I've seen so far is a vote along religious/ethnic lines! very sad indeed. |
I would try my possible best to give you an intelligent response without resorting to name calling and insult. First, when they were about going to the merger, was the public informed? So, even if for the sake of clarifications ( which I equally see as utterly important and necessary) they needed to inform the public that Ribadu is till running, they would have done that very well without resulting to blame game. Check out Buhari's response. See any name calling and blame game there? As I said earlier, I fully support the rejection by CPC of that pre-appointment resignation letter. there is something called "Trust and Honour"! |
When I saw all sorts of allegation in the news as to how the talks between ACN and CPC failed, one thing that kept coming to my mind was; what exactly did ACN hope to achieve by RUSHING to the media to announce the failure of the merger and why were they so quick to heap ALL the blame on CPC? As I said in one of my posts earlier, "only God Knows what kind of requests ACN brought to the table"? But, they revealed this by saying they only demanded Bakare to "sign a simple letter of resignation". Haba, in my own opinion, what then is the difference between that and just asking him to follow you to Okija Shrine or any other shrine. I told a few friends b4 this Buhari's clarificaction, I wouldn't have signed that letter if I were in Bakare's shoes. If my words ain't enough for you to use in doing political business with me, especially in the presence of several witnesses, then we have no business being in business together, especially as it is not a banking transaction! See full clarification from Buhari below. The Presidential Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Muhammadu Buhari has described the allegation making the rounds that he was responsible for the inability of his party and the ACN to forge an alliance ahead of Saturday polls as baseless and unfounded. While stressing that the decisive moment Nigeria enters this weekend requires sobriety on the part of leaders who care about the fate of the suffering people of Nigeria, General Buhari said his response was only to set the record straight about this misinformation. He explained that he embraced the renewed talks between the two parties in the best interest of millions of Nigerians yearning for change with great enthusiasm. “The talks however ran into difficulties when the ACN insisted the only condition for agreement was that they must produce the Vice President. By the electoral laws, this was virtually impossible before this election. We suggested that they should let us jointly go into the elections and jointly form the government after our victory. But our friends were not ready to take us on our honour and went to the media”. While regretting the inability to get the parties to agree to harness their electoral fortunes before Saturday, General Buhari said the task at hand is to get rid of the PDP at the polls through voters’ mass turnout and eternal vigilance from accreditation to the final announcement of results. He called on millions of his supporters across Nigeria to troop out en masse on Saturday and vote him in as the President: “This is our finest hour to get the PDP out and we must not miss it. The rigging machine must be smashed on Saturday” he concluded. source; http://buhari4change.com/?p=2061 |
We are still awaiting Aisha and other to please come and give us the details of the town hall meetingWas at the town hall meeting; Nothing was said about the merger thingy. Full details; Opening Prayer, Award to Buhari by National Youth Organisaction (NYO), Speech by a certain politician from Nassarawa, I think, and finally the crowd moving speech by Buhari. At a certain point though, the General bursted into tears for the country and the crowd followed suit. Finally Closing Prayer and crowd dispersed. Nothing was said on merger or no merger. I suggest everybody should just work as if the merger ain"t gonna come to fruition anymore. I think Buhari is really caught between whether to compromise principles or to maintain his stand. It ain"t easy on the man @ all. It was sooo glaring. Aisha, over to you, on any detail left out. |
Let's forget these alliance talk, guys. It's irretrievably gone(except if rerun happens). Let's get set for the field alone.True Talk. So much inconsistency flying around. Guess it's best to just go ahead as if there were no merger talk again. |
As regards d Alliance Talk, just got this on via tweeter; Buhari4change (Official Fan Page) BB UPDATES: Last night was full of tension, first the UEFA Champions League, then the alliance talk. Well today is a new day: no alliance, no blame game. BB is now focusing on today's Abuja Town Hall meeting. Join BB at 11am at the International Conference Centre, thereafter a press conference will follow @ Aisha2; I'm coming in for d programme too. Would like to meet U in person. Care to drop a means of contact. Phone no, e-mail, BB-Pin etc. |
Bisi Akande has neva hesitated to voice out his preference for a younger person for d post of Presidency. Seriously, an alliance with A.C.N would have greatly sealed d win for BB downsouth, but then d powers dt be in A.C.N clearly have their agendas and interests. Making concessions in politics is crucial and unavoidable. However, certain concessions dt are against ur moral values shouldn't b made, else desperation would set in. I don't think Buhari shld b blamed for breakdown intalks cos no one really knows wat exactly A.C, N came asking for! |
It seems BB supporters are already giving up! The last 6 or 7 posts I read suggests defeat is already beingn conceded even before d D-day. U guys shld follow ur dream to d end! If anythg double up your effort! As Pst Bakare said, it is not d battle of Man but of God. Blv me, God has a way of doing his own things!!! |
Hey, I need a confirmation on Buhari/Bakare's manifestoe unveiling program to be held this week in Abuja. When is it holding and where? Thank you. |
Anybody famiiliar with the politics of Southwest would definitely know Wahab Dosunmu. So, with all due respect, whosoever doesn't know him is probably a neophyte. A little query of d name "Wahab Dsounmu" on google would help. @Muskeeto, it made front page cos it's a newsworthy item, especially @ ds tme, few days to d presidential election! |
April 9th presented an opportunity for INEC and Nigerians as a whole to prove to the whole world, that indeed we are able to organize a free and fair election. One in which leaders would be chosen as an expression of the people's wish. Without meaning to go into the details, I daresay that in as much as the election had been adjudged free and fair, at least in comparison to the 2003 and of course, the infamous 2007 elections, this analysis of the election does not infact represent the whole picture of happenings across the country. It seems to me that the wishes of the people were allowed to prevail in some parts of the country, notably the South-West & North-central, while in other places, perhaps, places with less media coverage, like the South-South and South-East, the ruling parties had a field day reincarnating 2007. Pls see below comments below; On Abia state; "It was gathered that the announcement of Chukwumerije as winner of the election triggered a protest as coalition of opposition parties in the state called for the cancellation of the poll on allegations of fraud, intimidation, non-availability of result sheets in some polling centres in Umunneochi Local Government Area and outright falsification of election results by the ruling PDP" In Anambra State, the ongoing controversy btw Ngige and Dora needs no further mention. Just this morning from the news from INEC itself; "Delta, Bayelsa and Imo record highest cases of ballot snatching" My point is, why does such impunity continue in this zone? And most of all, why is it not getting good media coverage as would have been the case were it to happen in some other parts of the country? Finally, shall we actually allow this day-light assault on us as a people to continue? N.B: Objective responses would be appreciated. Pls no tribal fight here. The purpose of this write up is for an objective appraisal of happenings in the south-east and perhaps south-south. |
Incredible!!! Wahab Dosunmu chose to "follow his conscience" and pitch his tent with the opposition. He just declared his support for Buhari of CPC. Source; http://saharareporters.com/article/it%E2%80%99s-matter-conscience-wahab-dosunmu |

@ Aisha, pls note that the no of house of reps members is 360 and not 362. Also, each state contributes based on, I think no of local govts in d state or so, (I'm not really sure), hence no per state varies accross states. So far Kaduna, Kano and Katsina has d highest no of members. Having said dt, I really would like to commend d mature way U've been handling this section. So far, I can say I like ur leadership style and your person. Cheers. |
This directive was sounded out several times during d regisltration period; Register close to your house so as not to disenfranchise yaself. So, whoever registered elsewhere did just that: Disenfrancised him/herself and wasn't done by INEC! Pls let's stop blaming d system for things within our power to influence. |
