When I drove a brand new car, I have been wooed right there in the car a couple of times. You offer someone a ride, they will ask for your name, where you work etc. When it is time for some to even get off, they will be reluctant because you didn't ask for number. If you get off the car in shorts and slippers, they will even respect you if they see you but if they had seen you ordinarily in same manner, they won't even give you attention. I do not agree with this because the experience might have been gathered over a large span of time. It may even cut across years. So, I doubt if he wakes everyday to start bugging people with chats. He seems to be speaking from experience.
The bitter truth is that, most females lack substance. You cannot do maths with them, no puzzle, international politics, local politics, sports etc. A bulk of them are shallow and that s why I barely have long convos with females. There are some few exceptions though but nowadays, it is easier for a needle to pass through the eye of a camel than to see a lady with substance or something substantial to offer. I would rather sleep that attempt to chat them up.
