The news was communicated to the former President in letter signed by Cletus Wortoson, former, Liberian Pro tem Senate president and chair, 2015 African Leadership Person of the Year Selection Committee.

He noted that the selection committee and the African Leadership Advisory Board placed a very high premium on Jonathan’s commitment towards deepening democracy on the continent.

“There is no one best suited at the moment than Your Excellency, to advise the continent’s leaders on the merits of good governance and enduring democracy,” the letter read.

“Your popular mantra of ‘one man one vote’ and ‘my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian,’ is a message that must be preached loud and clear on the continent, hence our endorsement.

“In adopting you as our choice, we placed a very high premium on your commitment towards deepening democracy on the continent – a characteristic which is uncommon among most African leaders at the highest level today.

“Chief among the many factors we considered was your efforts towards promoting good governance in Africa-through the promotion of free and fair elections across the continent. Your recent assignment to Tanzania received accolades and international acclaim, because, you discharged the responsibility most creditably.”

Since yesterday I arrived in Bori from PH, I have not closed my eyes in sleep. Massive shooting between men of the Nigerian Army and some well armed restive youth loyal to an ex-militant leader popularly known as SOLO. The campaign office of senator magnus Abe was set ablaze. It is believed here that the senator is the one instigating the military against SOLO.

Some other people were reportedly killed in Yeghe community by the army, but that I can’t confirm. But Bori became very restive today as the men of the Nigerian Army started shooting sporadically, aiming directly at innocent people. The information we heard is that the armed youth killed some military personnel last night, so the army was out for revenge.

This young okada man was shot death by men of the Nigerian Army with two other women who later died in the hospital. Right now, Bori is a ghost land, everyone is indoor. The worst is that the men of the Nigerian Army that are supposed to protect the people from this armed criminals are the ones killing the people.

The sight of seeing dogs eaten, slaughtered or kept in cages on their way to pepper soup joints and markets makes me depressed every time. Today, I did the unthinkable, a neighbour in my new area is a middle man for the purchase of these cages of dogs.
