Politics / Re: So I Met Jimi Agbaje Last Night At Eko Hotel And Suites And So? by nkowaputa(m): 2:36pm On Mar 16, 2015
Orikinla:
I was one of the VIPs invited to the much publicized Showbiz Interactive Night with President Goodluck Jonathan Sunday evening on March 15, 2015, at the Eko Convention Centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Lagos. And it was a star studded spectacular night of fantastic musical and comic performances by both older and younger musicians and comedians, including King Sunny Ade, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Orit Wiliki, Ras Kimono, Gordons, Klint the Drunk, Funny Bone, Harrysong, Kcee, Oritse Femi, Dbanj, Timi Dakolo and Waje. And almost all the most celebrated Nollywood stars were there, but Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Kate Henshaw were missing at the event coordinated by President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mrs. Ibinabo Fiberesima-Egbuka and her immediate predecessor Segun Arinze who made the event a night to remember. Richard Mofe-Damijo and Ayo Makun, aka AY of "30 Days in Atlanta" fame were comperes and they were very good. Famous singers Yinka Davies and Waje interacted with me as we sat around our table with famous actor Joseph Benjamin and another actor.

President Jonathan came with his special entourage, including Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, Tony Elumelu, Chairman, Heirs Holdings; Mr Jim Ovia, Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc and Jimi Agbaje, gubernatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Lagos who interacted with several people. I waited until after the event to say hello and we shook hands with "Up Gregs!" the common praise chant used by both present and old students of the famous St. Gregory's College, Lagos.

Interacting with President Goodluck Jonathan and Jimi Agbaje did not change my mind on my decision to endorse and support the presidential flag bearer lof the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd) and APC’s Lagos governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Dolapo Ambode who will definitely succeed Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola in 2015, whether the hypocrites and sycophants of the PDP like it or not.
Jimi Agbaje does not have grassroots support and actually waiting for how the domino effect of President Jonathan winning the presidential election will favour him which is unrealistic for any serious political leader. And his political media campaign is misconstrued by the agency he contracted.
Majority of the voters in Lagos state don't even know what BOLD IDEAS Jimi Agbaje is talking about when he has never been bold in his contributions to the development of Lagos state.
How many people has he given jobs?
How many people has he given scholarships?
What achievements can he prove he has achieved for Lagos state?

I kept reading hoping you would make a point somewhere....alas I just wasted my time.

Nigerian population then was 83 million in 1984...so your logic makes no sense. We are double that population now, but employment is more than double...unemployed youths are in their millions now, compared to 70,000 unemployed back in 84.

I am not defending any here, I am rather telling you that for you to get which had higher unemployment, you have to find the percentages of both times and compare.

Cyber crime represents 80% reason why Nigeria and Nigerians are called criminals and corrupt by the outside world. This bill will fight those giving us that name and scaring businesses from us. It will rise our integrity.

This is GEJ using the other hand to withdraw the FOI bill he took credit for, probably in a reaction to the exposition of his weakness and corruption due to this elections.
Once gov't starts to actively spy on its citizenry, freedom is no longer in existence. Judging by the way GEJ and indeed other African leaders misuse power, this law will be used to witchhunt media houses and ordinary citizens on social media (think Nairaland etc).
My suspicion is that the paedophile part of the law is to window dress the spying part of the bill to create an appeal.
It is a bad law in general. How much hacking goes on in Nigeria? This is not even really an anti yahoo-yahoo bill sef to make it more pertinent. It is a shame GEJ's priorities are misplaced once again. He should have been pushing the legislature to pass more important bills like the PIB.
Nigerians should fight this bill before it is passed.

One of the reasons Nigeria is seen as most corrupt nation is because of cyber crimes. Many westerns have been defrauded by yahoo Yahoo boys.
This is a good start to restoring Nigeria's integrity.
It also does not impede on FoI.

Obj should belong to the class of statesmen whom Nigeria should look up to and seek advice. He should be mentor to aspiring youths. He should be a force for the unity and progress in Nigeria.
Alas, he turned himself to a political tout and a cause of rancor and acrimony to the nation.

He will provide security, and dislodge bokoharam, just like he dislodged maitatsine,he will also retire corrupt Army generals that gej protected from facing a hearing sponsored by the House Of Representatives.

U lied when u mentioned he lied abt his qualifications,he has showed Nigerians his wassce, and he is a very reverred Army general.pls show us ur own!if u feel it is necessary.

The money the wife donated are 4rm campaign funds nt personal funds, buhari's form were gotten 4 him by his supportive friends. He has also declared his asset, waiting 4 gej and pej 2 declare theirs.

Yes his daughter schools abroad,he finances her through his pension fund and friends that willingly agreed to take up d task of seeing her through schl.

He will defeat bokoharam.he sees jonathan as anti north because gej is nt serious abt tackling bokoharam, gej chooses to politicise the issue as an apc issue instead of acting like a president of a nation.Little wonder Azazi died after publicly saying bokoharam is a pdp problem.Or do u know better than Azazi,a former nsa?

Buhari is loved by northern youths and objective nigerian youths,i am a youth, view my pix,and I adore buhari.so u lie.

Buhari will help fix our economy by sanitizing nnpc, gej and his cohorts have raped Nigerians. If stealing is not corruption, then how can d economy grow?

Buhari is properly schooled,go watch his foreign interviews.

He overthrew shagari's government cos of wide scale inflation brought abt by corruption from massive oil boom.Tell Nigerians the inflation figure when Shagari wz president?

I am so ashamed of 'jeun jeun' Yorubas like Odumakin. How can any sane person support this President who has run Nigeria into the ground with sheer incompetence, mind-boggling corruption, elitist 'pocketing' of Nigeria and anti-people misrule? These "stomach infrastructure" fools should be ashamed of themselves.

Another issue for these sad elements like Odumakin, Gani Adams et al is the sheer envy of Tinubu and his lofty position none of them have been able to attain. They absolutely hate that Tinubu is perceived as one of the most powerful and influential Political leaders of the Yorubas everyone takes seriously while they are not.

They will side with evil if that helps to prevent Tinubu becoming stronger and more influential in their myopic perception. Tinubu has his issues but he is unlike these petty and small-minded Yoruba irritants because he sees the big picture and understand that issues remain about the common man and the need to give back to him and secure his future. If the likes of Odumakin understood this then they will not be praise-singing a 'destroyer' of Nigerians like GEJ. Surely the children of Odumakin and others like him, if sensible, will be disgusted with their fathers.
Tell me how Gej ground Nigeria?
Odumakin has seen the light so the need to change.
Thanks to the postponement, many others will change as the fresh breeze continues gradually.

Buhari is a man full of contradictions.
- He will fight corruption but Tinubu is his
friend.
- He will give us security but he was pushed out
of office like a chicken by his subordinates.
- He is honest but lies about his qualification.
- He has no N 27 million to buy presidential
nomination form but the wife has N 135 million
worth of drugs to donate.
- He is poor but all his children schools abroad.
- He will fight terrorism but sees others fight
against terrorism as anti-north.
- He will help the youth but is never known to
have helped a single almajiri even in Daura.
- He will fix the economy but can only boast of less than 1m in his account after all these years.
- He will fix education but is unschooled
himself.
- He wants to benefit from democracy but
overthrew a democratic government.
- He obtained school certificate but cannot
produce "the certificate".
May God protect us from this hypocrite.

Crime / Robbery At Oshodi; 19-02-2015 by nkowaputa(m): 8:45am On Feb 20, 2015
Traffic gridlock was at its best yesterday along the popular Oshodi-oworonsoki express road, at about 7:48pm. Vehicles, now moving at the pace of a snail while drivers were on stunts as to how to maneuver.
Suddenly, a group of about 8 boys came out from nowhere, and went straight to the car in front of me; a Hyundai (Kia pincato size) and smashed the window. The driver, a young man was playing music with his phone, wearing his earpiece. Then the dragging ensued. The young man had to part with his phone, wristwatch and other things these guys could lay their hands on. While this was happening, some of them went to other cars, I am not sure if they took anything from them.
Strapped to my seat I looked, I had brought out my phone and a few cash to give them if they approached me. Funny enough, they came to my car looked at me and I looked back at them and they walked on.
It's amazing how this could happen and not even one person reacted including me.
If I may guess these boys would not be up to 25years.
I thought to myself, winding up isn't even a guarantee you will not be robbed in Lagos.
