A young man simply identified as Frank aka Tallest has been proven innocent after he was wrongly accused of stealing a bike and returning to the same area few weeks later.

Focus Naija had earlier reported how the victim was rounded up that evening and subjected to mob beating at a primary school in Ighwreovie, Ughelli North LGA in Delta State.

According to the victim, he was watching a local football match at the primary school when his prime accuser whose name was given as Friday and two others, Anthony and Excellence pounced on him for allegedly stealing a motorcycle that belonged to his friend, Ekoje.

The victim said he was aware when Ekoje’s bike was stolen and even helped him to search for it because he was the agent that showed him the apartment that he stays.

He narrated his ordeal on that fateful evening thus;

“My friend Ekoje motorcycle got missing so he called me and report it to me because am the agent who find the apartment for him, so we try searching around for the motorcycle but to no avail then he said let's forget about the motorcycle that he dont want to report the matter to the police that he dont want any problem..

“After some days one of his colleagues at work gave him another motorcycle saying to him he should forget about the lost motorcycle, then we all forget about the motorcycle.

“After two weeks of the incident, I was at the primary school watching football by our local team around 4-5pm when an eye witness came out from no where accusing me of stealing the motorcycle saying he saw me around 2am in the night with the motorcycle, he asked me where am I taking the motorcycle and I said my friend sent me on an errand which he could not confirm at the middle of night, he then went inside his house and sleep

“I wasn't given the chance to explain myself, one so called Anthony excellence and the eye witness Friday began to slap me, punch me and I was shouting am not a thief I didn't steal any motorcycle!they didn't allow me to talk anymore that's how everything changed on me for what I didn't know about..

“I did not know how to even ride motorcycles, heaven bear me witness..”

However, the victim’s elder brother said the accuser, Anthony and the owner of the motorcycle were arrested. The matter was also reported to the king and they pleaded to pay for damages.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode has left the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC after flying to Lagos to see the anti-graft agency.

Focus Naija can report that contrary to news reports that went viral, EFCC did not arrest Fani-Kayode as widely speculated.

He said he was invited to their office which he arrived by 2pm and was later granted bail on self recognition then left by 8:30pm. He thereafter walked into the George Hotel to have dinner.

Fani-Kayode wrote;

Just arrived at the George Hotel for dinner. I was never arrested by the EFCC. I was invited & I flew down to Lagos to see them. I arrived in their office at 2.00pm & left at 8.30pm. I was granted bail on self recognition. They were very polite & professional. Thanks be to God.

A hilarious note left by a yet to be identified student to her roommate, Amaka has gone viral online.

A midnight thief that has been terrorizing Isodje neighborhood has been caught, stripped naked and beaten to a pulp.

Focus Naija can report that the young man simply identified as Igho used a ladder to suppress the barbed wire and gained entrance into the compound using the water tank.

According to reports, he had successfully carried out his operation of tearing nets and was leaving with his loot when one of the phones that he stole fell from him.

It was gathered that the noise of the falling phone woke an occupant in one of the flats who quickly raised an alarm.

Before the suspect could climb the water tank to escape, the occupants caught him and descended on him heavily.

As at the time of filing this report, the suspect has been handed over to community executives that were called to the scene.

A 28-year-old robbery suspect simply identified as Emma Ighodalo, an indigene of Irri village in Isoko South, led policemen to the hideout of a 77-year-old gunrunner, Michael Enipozi.

Focus Naija can report that policemen from Ozoro swung into action after receiving a distress call that three armed robbers were operating at the premises of a man(name withheld) along Ozoro/Ughelli road.

According to the Delta State Police Spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the robbery suspect arrested with a live cartridge after his gang members escaped, confessed to have thrown away his gun into the bush while trying to escape from the combined team of policemen and vigilantes mobilized to the scene.

He also confessed that he bought the gun from the septuagenarian gunrunner for N30,000 and led policemen to his hideout from where three double barrel guns, two single barrel guns and tools used in manufacturing guns were recovered from him.

Upon interrogation, it was gathered that the septuagenarian is a welder that manufacture guns for criminals and has been in the business for over twenty years. He also admitted selling the gun to the robbery suspect.

Delta Police Engage Robbers In Shootout, Killed Two Then Recovered Snatched Vehicles And AK-47 Rifles (Photos)

Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force attached to the Delta Police Command on the 28th of August, 2021 engaged four suspected robbers in a shootout, killed two then recovered stolen vehicles, two AK-47 rifles and cash sum.

Focus Naija can report that a patrol team from the Otu-jeremi division in Ughelli South on stop and search at Egbo/Otokutu road, received information that a four-man gang of suspected robbers had stolen two vehicles.

The policemen swung into action immediately and gave them a hot chase forcing them to abandoned the vehicles at Otokutu community after developing mechanical faults.

According to a statement signed by the acting Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, the robbers then tried to escape with a snatched tricycle from which they opened fire on the team that was closing in on them.

The team replied with superior firepower and in the ensuing shootout, the gang abandoned the tricycle to flee. Two were fatally wounded and later gave up the ghost while two others fled into the bush.

Two (2) vehicles, a gold coloured Toyota Camry with Reg. no.RSH 291 AW and a custom coloured lexus 350 jeep with Reg. No. WWR 737 KL, one Ak47 rifle with breech no. not visible, an empty magazine, two hundred thousand naira (N200,000.00), gold jewelries were recovered.

The DPO of the division later led a combined team to comb the bush for the fleeing suspects but instead, recovered another AK 47 rifle with breach number NK344397, two magazines and 3 live ammunition.

On 28/8/2021 at about 1730hrs the Divisional patrol team from Otu-Jeremi police station while on stop and search duty along Egbo/Otokutu road received information that four (4) suspected armed robbers who had earlier snatched two (2) vehicles, a gold coloured Toyota Camry with Reg. no.RSH 291 AW and a custom coloured lexus 350 jeep with Reg. No. WWR 737 KL abandoned the vehicles at Otokutu community due to suspected mechanical faults and were escaping in a tricycle. The team swung into action and chased the hoodlums but the gang on sighting the police team opened fire on them and in the ensuing gun battle the hoodlums were forced to abandon the tricycle. Two of the hoodlums escaped and ran into the bush while two others were fatally wounded and found in the tricycle with gun shot injuries. One Ak47 rifle with breech no. not visible, an empty magazine, a cash sum of two hundred thousand naira(#200,000.00), gold jewelries were recovered. The suspects who sustained gunshot injuries were rushed to the hospital where they gave up the ghost while receiving treatment. The DPO Otu-jeremi Division again led a combined team of police/vigilante to further comb the bush for the possible arrest of the other fleeing members of the gang but in the process recovered another AK 47 rifle with breach number NK344397 with two magazines and 3 live ammunition. Manhunt for the other members of the gang is ongoing.

The Delta State Police Command has commenced intelligence gathering and assured law abiding residents to ignore the Fulani invasion threat that was pasted by miscreants with the aim of causing panic in the state.

Focus Naija can report that a group known as “FULANI JIHADIST WARNINGS” issued a 72hours ultimatum to the Delta State Government over the Governor’s stand on the ban of open grazing in the South South, South East and South West regions.

Copies of the publication were reportedly pasted around the state capital and Agbor to cause confusion, mentioning that both cities shall suffer severe consequences.

Dismissing the threats in a press statement made available to Focus Naija, the acting PPRO of the command, DSP Bright Edafe said modalities have already been put in place to forestall any of such occurrence.

The command under the watch of CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, psc+ who is ever committed in its responsibility of providing security for all Deltans, is assuring members of the public to ignore the said publication which must have been pasted by miscreants with the aim of creating panic in the state. All modalities have been put in place to forestall any of such occurrence, all residents are advice to go about their lawful businesses without fear or panic.

Undercover police operatives have been deployed across the state for the purpose of gathering intelligence. Other proactive measures have been put in place by the command. Members of the public are also urged to continue to partner with the police, by providing useful information that will help in policing the state.

Several videos of police officers dispersing protesting students of Cross River State University of Technology has been going viral online.

Focus Naija can report that the students were protesting the decay of infrastructures in the learning environment and also the increase in their tuition fee.

A portion of the Federal Secretariat complex that houses the NYSC office in Asaba, Delta State was completely razed by fire on Tuesday morning.

Focus Naija can report that the fire could not be curtailed by the fire fighting machinery domiciled in the complex until the arrival of reinforcement of firefighters from the Asaba Airport.

According to eyewitnesses, the raging fire was finally stopped from spreading to other parts of the complex after razing the NYSC office at the second floor.

Although no casualty was said to have been recorded in the inferno, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Olutayo Samuel confirmed the damages caused but dismissed earlier claims that the incident was caused by unknown gunmen.

Acting Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe also corroborated her findings and assured that investigation is currently going on.

He debunked speculations that unknown gunmen invaded the Secretariat Complex and set it ablaze.
