seunmsg: They made Ijaw man Jonathan Vice President, pushed for him to be acting president when others kept quiet and voted massively for him to be president in 2011.
When you want to tell history, always start from the beginning.
If we start from the beginning we will remember that SW voted for Nuhu Ribadu in 2011 as ACN candidate
Even without SW votes the Ijaw man would have won in 2011
AD won by a landslide. Tinubu rode on their bandwagon. Then he was preaching restructuring and self determination which yorubas were yearning for and part of the core principles of the party
Once he secured power re-election in 2003 he abandoned Yoruba struggle and dumped AD
NGpatriot: The North go roll and tender receipts for the village tribal bigot..
You went to dig up article from 2018 that was debunked and laughed at don't hide behind North just stand on your own and admit you are afraid Peter Obi will flog your Chicago drug baron Tinubu if he gets PDP ticket
flokii: All major tribes were in politics in Lagos as the capital of Nigeria back in the days. Right from Tafawa Balewa to the times of Military in Dodan Baracks before IBB moved capital to Abuja.
Igbos at no time had a say in the internal affairs of Lagos talk more of getting appointed as commissioner in Lagos state. It's the Yorubas that were removed from top positions in federal agencies and parastatals and were replaced by Igbos during GEJ's tenure that I pity most. Even Lagosians had no say over slots meant for Lagos in federal because GEJ felt he could appoint any Igbos residing in Lagos.
Thank God Yorubas are waking up.. soon noone will tell you to pack your loads and spare parts to the East when people stop patronizing your shops in Lagos and other South West states. Everything that has beginning always has an end.
You say all tribes were involved in politics in Lagos then in your next paragraph you say Igbos never had a say in Lagos. You are contradicting yourself
Tinubu and his tribalistic miscreants will come will come and go but igbos will continue to have a say in lagos politics. If you don't like it go campaign for oduduwa republic
KosiGee: Your post is filled with disrespect and arrogance. The op in my opinion is an idiot but your post about Yoruba people is filled with foolishness.
Have you handled a weapon before? Can you handle one if it’s given to you?
Whiteangel1234: There is a raging debate for Charles Soludo to appoint the Swiss Woman popularly known as Nwanyiocha and married to an Anambra Man From Isuofia as a commissioner for Tourism in his new Government
Praxis758: This question have been agitating in my mind.
We've seen and heard how presidential aspirants have been consulting ex heads of state like OBJ, IBB, and Abdulsalam, including Gen. Aliyu Gusau and Gen. Theophilus Danjuma who are not heads-of-state.
My question is, why is Genera Gowon being left out or ignored when touring/consulting by these aspirants or politicians? Is it that Gowon is irrelevant in the present national discuss?
Gowon has no political capital at all because he was a figure head Head of State with little or no power base when he was C in C outside of officers of his Angas tribe who were few and were eventually neutered after their coup that killed Murtala.
Politicians seek the support of influential people to boost their chances, they know Gowon has no influence over any constituency, not in the army, not even his own region
ViperAda: Ibos would never see anything wrong in their gang up against Eyo ita who was sacked by ibo dominated regional assembly to subsequently elect Azikiwe as eastern premier. Minorities were so oppressed such that Zik would rather have them marginalized than create a referendum for a separate COR states.
-Viper
Zik made that mistake by himself not his tribe. However minorities were not oppressed in the Eastern region, the OPs article says so clearly
Drogunov: Hey, stop the lies. There was no projects done in the SW by GEJ. Just stop the lies. GEJ focused on the North but they still hated him. Leave the SW alone. They did not cause your political misfortune
GEJ did a lot for the SW and North infrastructure wise but you both still hated him. He gave you the rail you are enjoying today, water projects, irrigation etc
Nigerians love the SW but Nigerians don't like Tinubu touts. There is a clear difference here so don't try and conflate issues
Investigative: Am here to appeal to those who ride on pushing hatred on Igbo as campaign strategy in 2015 that such strategy will not work again because this social media have been taken over, and Igbo youths won't allow you spread such calumnious vile against igbo because of Nigeria politics This is coming from those who introduce tribalism into Nigeria politics, they used this tactics for years which they used against azikiwe leading to first cross carpeting in Nigeria history They also used it against Jonathan to gain popularity, calling Jonathan so many unprintable names Using of such Igbo hatred just to solicit vote and support from north won't be allow any more... My fellow igbo youths won't allow The famous lagoon speech again
they think that 2015 format will work again. Fa maro ka anyi si kwado
Investigative: Today in History: Aburi Accord took place.
On this day, January 4th and 5th in 1967, Aburi Accord (agreement) was reached in Aburi, Ghana, by the FG delegates and the Eastern Region delegates led by Col. Emeka Ojukwu. Its purpose was to carve out a...
way to prevent a looming war in Nigeria.
Aburi, a town in the Akuapiam South Municipal District of the Eastern Region of South Ghana, was specifically chosen as the venue of the meeting because the Eastern delegates and their leader, Col. Emeka Ojukwu's safety could not be guaranteed anywhere within the Western and Northern Nigeria.
Issues Discussed At The Meeting Were:
Total Overhauling of the Army Constitutional Agreement Issue of displaced people within the country To stop using force in the settlement of dispute.
List of Aburi Delegates Are: Lt. Gen. J.A Ankrah (Chairman of the Ghana National Liberation Council). Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon Lt. Col. Odumegwu Ojukwu Maj. Mobolaji Johnson (Gov. Lagos State) Lt. Col. Hassan Katsina (Gov. Northern Region) Lt. Col. David Ejoor (Gov. Mid-Western Region) Joseph Wey (Military VP) Col. Robert Adebayo (Gov. Western Region) Kam Selem (Police Chief) Mr. T. Omo-Bare. note:Aburi accord suggested Nigeria return to regional government,so why did yakubu gowon renegade from aburi agreement he signed? The above named Governors came with their secretaries headed by S. Akenzua who later became the Oba of Benin. In response to the accord, the Federal Military Govt. promulgated Decree No. 8 which was an embodiment of the Aburi accord. The accord later broke down due to different interpretations from both sides and later led to mindless bloodletting that exacted millions of casualties of Ndi Igbo.
It's worthy to note that it was Awolowo & S Akenzua that suggested to Gowon to relegate the Aburi agreements to the background and he accepted. Another school of thought believed that it was the discovery of Oil in Igbo land that also contributed to Gowon's rejection of Aburi agreements. Failure to implement Aburi Accord led to the death of over 3.5 million Ndi Igbo.
Gowon also decided to abandon the agreement because he claimed Ojukwu went to Aburi prepared while others were not. One can rightly say that Gowon masterminded the genocide of over 3.5 million Ndi Igbo. On Aburi we stand!

It was the civil servants, particularly the Perm Secs like Akenzua and Omo-Bare that killed the aburi accord, convinced Gowon to cancel the regional system and create states
Omojuwa is a bloody hypocrite. He and his fellow APC coven people that could not stop talking about Jonathan before the 2015 elections but now they want us to "promote our own candidate" and leave Tinubu alone.
obailala: Whether old or new picture, that's irrelevant. The mere thought of the possibility of having a Tinubu/Gandollar ticket isn't only amusing, it's scary and ridiculous.
Na God we take dey beg Tinubu, he's a spent cartridge with a lot of baggage; he wouldn't be accepted by anyone. In the interest of Nigeria, Tinubu should better just pull a last minute shocker by pushing PYO forward.
After "Operation Press Jorginho" during 2019 elections in Lagos, any Igbo that doesn't detest Tinubu is a mugu.
Before then we knew Tinubu hated Igbos, he doesn't hide it, neither does his lousy tout of a wife or his urchin followers who exhibit murderous hatred/racism against Igbos both online and offline
Landmack: He was there from the beginning;even when others were busy badmouthing and throwing stones at the airport foundation...in fact, ndi Anambra have indirectly handed the airport to him. He deserves every mention
That's why Onyema is successful. He didn't allow bad belle talk to distract him
spydera: Goodmorning Nairalanders. I had this completely randomized argument with one of my couzins early hours of this morning on the topic above. It was Unusual but deliberate given the fact that I said I love following church service online via the Net or cable dish.
She immediately opposed me and we both started to clearly state our points in bid to render the other person defeated.
It was like a rap battle until she said going to church will enable you, amongst other things take lots of selfies and pictures with others people– Òmó, I became mute and yielded. Which do you prefer and why?
Bible says "Do not forsake gathering of the saints" - meaning gather in worship. The comments section of YouTube stream is a gathering while you hear the Word
It also says we are to "Worship God in Spirit and Truth". You can be physically in church but your mind is elsewhere or scoping one fine sister/brother. A person who is alone at home with the distractions but still decides to watch is usually a serious worshipper.
Igboid: Yes. But they were not the only blacksmiths in Igboland. They were just the most popular. There were Nkwerre, Ehugbo, Agbaja(Okpogho town), etc blacksmith centres in Igboland too. Awka was just the finnest and most travelled.
