Never knew you can use NIN slip in place of utility bill. I want to help my sister-in-law open Stanbic MMF but utility bill has been her challenge as they live in their own house in Benin and it is solar that they are using.

If NIN slip is used for utility bill, can the same NIN slip be used for means of identification?.
@emmasoft,

My sister-in-law has joined the StanbicIBTC MMF train. I helped her opened the account online and she got her e-account the next day. Na by 6:10am yesterday she wake me up saying she has done a transfer to commence the journey. Na the same 6:10am she wake me up this morning that she has logged in to the online portal and already seen her interest for one day. grin grin grin grin

THANK YOU.🙏 THEY'RE RIGHT I GUESS.

MEANWHILE DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY THE BALANCE IN MY SMS ALERT WILL BE DIFFERENT FROM THAT IN MY INTERNET BANKING APP TO THE TUNE OF 4 TO 5K DIFFERENCE SOMETIMES? THIS IS ESPECIALLY SO WITH UNION AND GTB.
IT'S CONFUSING. AFTER CALCULATING I'LL NOTICE THAT ONE IS MORE ACCURATE. WHAT KIND OF THE MORE YOU LOOK THE LESS YOU SEE IS THAT. PLS ANY EXPERIENCE AND OR EXPLANATION FOR THIS? I NO WANT TO THEY MEET THIS BANK PEOPLE BEFORE I CONFIRM FROM OTHERS SO I CAN KNOW IF IT'S WORTH ENGAGING THEM OR NOT.
You might need to take it up with them.

Some might show 'Current Balance(Ledger Balance)' while some will show 'Available Balance'.

Pls do calculation lets say 14% for 91 days. Principal of 3m
I = ( P * T * R )/366

I = ( 3,000,000 * 91 * 0.14 )/366 = 104,426.23

GOOD EVENING. PLS CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THE FORMULA FOR CALCULATING TREASURY BILLS AGAIN. I THOUGHT I UNDERSTOOD IT BUT THE AMOUNT GTB IS TELLING ME TO EXPECT AT MATURITY DOESN'T ADD UP. I JUST WANT TO BE SURE BEFORE I GO MAKE UNNECESSARY CONFRONTATION BIKO🙏
I ASKED FOR REINVESTMENT BUT AND THEY DIDN'T DROP A DIME. WHEN I CONTACTED MY ACCOUNT OFFICER THE AMOUNT SHE'S TELLING ME TO EXPECT IS NOT ADDING UP ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE SAYS I'M TAKING EVERYTHING AT MATURITY.

TENOR 359 days..
RATE. 19.50
Thanks
I = P * T * R / (number of days in the year)

I - Interest to be earned
P = Principal
T = Tenor
R = Rate in percentage
number of days in the year = 365 or 366(Leap Year)

P = 1,000,000 (Assume you are investing N1m)
T = 359
R = 19.50 = 19.50/100 = 0.195

I = (1,000,000 * 359 * 0.195) / 366 = 191,270.49

So your Interest is 191,270.49

GTB should debit you with: 1,000,000 - 191,270.49 = 808,729.51

NB: Charges are not included in this explanation.

Note: Different banks have different ways of passing the entries. Some banks will debit you with N1m and then credit you with 191,270.49. At maturity, you are now credited with N1m.

Yes, especially for Stanbic. They know many investors who wish to invest may not have their personal property so they now use any govt issued id card that has your address in place of utility bill. However, it means the address on the NIN must be the address to fill on the form even if the current address the customer lives is different.

Since you are using the same NIN as ID and utility bill, in the space for ID and utility bill upload the NIN slip for both.

My oga I beg use my link ie first link on my signature when you want to open the account o I know you always help my ministry
Ok. I will tell her.

@fungirl89, it depends on what you mean by good. When it comes to fund managers and the funds they manage, good means different things to different investors.

Most times some things are normally considered by investors - rate, customer service, ease of redemption of funds, and online services ie the ability to access your account online.

currently as of today,
mansard 19.5%
Stanbic 19.90%
Norrenberger 17.0%
You can now consider other things that define what you mean by good.

However, since I sell for Stanbic and Norrenberger I wish you go with Stanbic to help my ministry.

To open an account for free, you need:
- passport photo,
- ID card,
- utility bill that bears your name ( your NIN slip can be used in place of a utility bill that bears your name)

Click the first link on my signature to start. You can also contact me if you need further clarifications my numbers are on my signature.

This right there is enough motivation for him to miss on gaining admission.

To the jamb guy, please be wise and apply the school that guarantees admission.
It is not. He is already on 59+. 25/30 in PUTME gives him 84+. His uncle that also advised him knows why he said that. As I said, Unilag does PUTME very early. So if he misses, he can then decide to do a change of University.

When my daughter told me the secondary school she wanted to go to, I told her that it was very competitive to enter. She asked me if the people there are not human beings. She passed the entrance and got into it. The same thing she told me when she wanted a particular University for Medicine and I told her it was very competitive. She is now in that University for Medicine.

Forget all those calculations up there. Forget about gaining admission into so called prestigious universities.

Apply the school that will give you admission even if it means coming over to the north.

My kind advice.

Schools like unilag might waste your utme score. If I were you, I would apply BUK.
He has a good score. Unilag does PUTME early. If he misses the cut off, he can change to another University. No be human beings dey enter Unilag?.

Thanks boss this was very helpful.
So from what you said the cut off mark was high 2022 and 2023 because of merging
I am from Imo state
Unilag merged in the ratio of 60:40. 60 for previous set and 40 for current set.

You have a good JAMB score and a good WAEC computation of 16.8. The good thing about Unilag is that it publishes its cut off marks. So you can see for yourself. Imo state is not in Unilag catchment areas and also not an ELDS.

So just prepare very well for the PUTME. 30/30 is achievable in it. Just aim very high. The good thing about Unilag is that they conduct PUTME very early so that if you do not meet it, you can transfer to another university.

Please I need advice.
I am an mbbs aspirants who scored 339 with 4B3 and 1 A1 currently running JUPEB in unilorin.
But I have an uncle telling me to pick Unilag.But I am scared due to the fact that Unilag mbbs cut off mark was around 86 in 2022,84 in 2023.
And I don't know what it might be in 2024 considering the fact that a lot of people scored 300+ this year.
Unilorin on the other hand has a very slow academic calendar to the extent that the 2023/2024 aspirants haven't been admitted.
I need advice because I don't want to waste 339 this year🙏🙏
First of all, which state are you from?. Unilag catchment areas are the SW states of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Osun and Ekiti.

Unilag cut off for the past two sessions have been high because admissions were merged in those two sessions. The cut off mark normally ranges between 80 to 82 for merit.

For Unilag calculation:

A1 = 4.0
B2 = 3.6
B3 = 3.2
C4 = 2.8
C5 = 2.4
C6 = 2.0

(1) Your WAEC of 4B3 and 1A1 will give you 16.8/20.

(2) Your JAMB score of 339 will give you 339/8 = 42.375/50

(3) You score before PUTME = 59.175/70.

(4) Unilag PUTME is 30 questions of 30 marks.

(5) So total score will be (3) + (4)

This will give you an idea of the marks yo aim for in (4).

Those 4 classes is for you to pay more and parents especially women do not want their children to grow up. They want to start boasting to their neigbours that their child is already schooling at the age of 12 months even though such a child is finding it difficult to say daddy and mummy.

When i decided to leave my son at home till he was 3 years before he starts school, my wife was mad because his juniors have all started school but i maintained my stand. He started from Nursery one at 3 years because he was born in September. The school did not want to admit him into Nursery 1 but into reception 1 saying that he cannot draw nor write and i told them that the required age for Nursery 1 is 3 years and if they are not admitting him into Nursery 1, i was going to take him elsewhere and that was it and he was admitted into Nursery 1 at 3 years old. He is going to enter JSS 1 by September this year whereas those that started before him are still in Primary school. He passed the Entrance of the 4 competitive schools he took.

In Summary, iam a great advocate of allowing a child's brain to develop before being pushed to school.
Just saw a like on this post made in 2015 today. How time flies.

The boy mentioned here is now in third year in the University studying Mechanical Engineering. He made 9A1s in his WAEC in 2021. All A1s have never been made in the 90years of his school thereby breaking and creating a new record.

MBBS is the safest career choice you can make. You will "cash out" from the degree till you leave this earth, if you want to. I worked in tech for a while. Enjoyed the money, and the fast paced work environment. But there is just this thing about medicine. If you get it, you get it. When you get to a certain level in life, money becomes a constant. At that level, those around you will relate based on personal attainments. Well, if that is what matters.

Meanwhile, there is a "pandemic" of job losses in tech. So many techies are either laid off or can't find work.
What most people do not understand about tech is that it is somehow 'seasonal' in that when a project comes up, there will be a sudden high demand with high pay. Once the project finishes, activities slow down and the staff are laid off. Microsoft just laid off about 200 staff in the Nigeria office. What has changed in Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp or even Nairaland since they were launched to warrant maintaining the same number of staff that started the project?.

So, my wife and I share similar career path. Though am ahead of her. My office got some new openings which she is qualified. Interestingly, I may be playing a major role on who gets the offers.

So comes my worry:
Can I facilitate my wife who is keen on her career? Do I have to worry about any regrets in future?

2). My wife manages our family bizness(and is doing very well on it, bringing in all the back up money) and children, what will happen to our bizness?

3). This good offer will require her to relocate, by extension, my whole family relocating. DOES it worth it?

4). Will I be accused of nepotism by HR auditors of recommending my qualified wife for the role(though she will be bearing her maiden name, I worry that the secret may not be for long before rumors start flying)

The job is quite rewarding, pay is excellent and entails free foreign travels.

To be clearer, my biggest worry is her loyalty as a wife if she gets very powerful and no more 'fake' office flirting.

Married Career people, HR executives pls advice me

Mods, please push to the front for wider opinions
Do not try it.

There is a reason why couples are not allowed to work in the same organization. This is only possible in a family business or family company.

For instance, If your wife comes to the office looking glamorous and a male colleague compliments her, how will you feel?. If a female staff compliments you, how will your wife feel?.

Btw, even if she uses her maiden name, it cannot be hidden for long. It will finally come out and one person will have to leave or both of you will be fired.

NATURE OF UNICAL POST UTME

UNICAL POST-UTME comprises of (40) questions.

15 from English Language,
5 from Current affairs,
5 from Mathematics
And 5 Questions from EACH of the (3) SUBJECTS candidates took in their JAMB......That is, a total of (40) questions from (6) subjects.

Medical candidates are to write the following subjects in UNICAL Post UTME

~ English Language
~ Mathematics
~ Physics
~ Chemistry
~ Biology
~ Current affairs
.

Please note that each UNICAL POST-UTME question carries (10 marks) and the time allocated to answer all 40 questions is (40 minutes), you have just "a minute" to answer each question.

WHAT ABOUT UNICAL POST-UTME RESULT?

Your result will come out latest, 2 days after you finish your exam while some times its released the next day (it all depends on some hidden factors)

To check your result, you will need to get a result checker PIN.

ADMISSION PROBABILITY=

POST-UTME SCORE + JAMB SCORE/2

The result of the above formula is called the Average score. Your average score is what will determine whether you merit the admission or not based on Medicine Departmental cut off mark.

If You Have Any Questions Feel Free To Ask
I want to believe that this "POST-UTME SCORE + JAMB SCORE/2" should be "(POST-UTME SCORE + JAMB SCORE)/2" based on the fact that JAMB is total of 400 marks and the POST-UTME SCORE is total of 400 marks.

Thank you very much sir. Can I use my card to pay instead rather than going to bank sir
As you go along the process, there is a card option but i have never used it because the first time i tried it, it failed. So i do not bother with it.

The Remita payment process does not automatically synchronous the payment to your Uniben portal. So you have to use the 'Requery' option to do that as it is the RRR that ties it. So if a card is used, i do not know how that reference will be passed to Remita.

To be on the same side, use the branch of your bank if you do not have Mobile App or Internet Banking because if you are debited through card and it does not synchronize, you have to start pursuing Remita to reverse it and that might take time.

Once you are doing it from Mobile App or Internet Banking, once the RRR is entered, it automatically brings out the details from Remita. So they have a handle to it. Remita Payment is a specialised payment service in the banks.

Please anyone have idea of how to pay school fees on uniben portal
(1) Goto Uniben Portal on https://waeup.uniben.edu
(2) On the right side, you will see 'Login'. Click it.
(3) Enter your Portal Login details
(4) Once in, click on 'My Data' option
(5) Select 'Payments'
(6) Then click 'Add current session payment'
(7) Select 'School Fee'
(8 ) Click 'Create Ticket'
(9) This will create a Remita payment ticket with Remita Response Reference(RRR) for you.
(10) From your Internet Banking or Mobile Banking App, you can make Remita payment using the RRR.
(11) You can equally go to any branch of your bank and tell them that you want to do a Remita repayment
(12) After you have done either (10) or (11), you go to the payment ticket on your portal and use 'Requery Remita Payment' to syncronize.

NB: If you are in Benin, you can go to any CBT centre in Uniben to do it as they know the process.

You can start with the MMF and be building it up gradually as it allows for top-up at any time while you learn more about TBs. TBs gives you an upfront interest and the capital will no longer be available to you till maturity date. If you now need funds, you will have to sell all or part of it and you might be charged a penalty but for MMF, you can withdraw funds anytime.
