With the latest development of the so-called MMM, there seem to be but 2 main questions on the minds of interested parties. 1) Will "MMM" resume normal operations after the advertised date of Jan 14th? 2) Has "MMM" actually crashed, and "investors" are merely in the expect initial stages of wishful thinking and self deceit that often affect those who have been struck by grief inducing trauma? To resolve this question, we ought to consider the facts. 1) In China, Zimbabwe and in South Africa MMM froze accounts in roughly 9 months after its inception in the respective countries, then crashed soon afterwards. The situation is not much different from what has just been obtained in Nigeria. The reason why it may have lasted about 3~4 months longer in Nigeria can probably be attributed to the large population and perhaps a higher proportion of greedy, silly people among his population. 2) A serving of crap is still a serving of crap regardless of any elaboration of accompanying garnishments. MMM is a pyramid scheme, and all pyramid schemes will eventually collapse upon itself. The critical factor in such operations is the size of investments compared to the size of closers. When there are not enough new investments to settle the closers, the scheme will collapse(The operators of MMM were probably aware of the dangers of this close to the Christmas season, which might explain their introduction of the "Christmas bonus" as a means of checking such danger). 3) Even if this fraud resumes on January 14th as expected, the chances of its survival is minuscule for the following reasons: Those who have had to wait for almost a month to "get help" will waste no time in pulling out their investments. The expected number of new investors(The beating heart of this operation) will be severely reduced due to the enormous amount of derogatory publicity that this freeze will induce. The consequence is that even on January 14th, the operation will probable freeze again(i.e. Crash) because GH > PH. Speculatively, this is probably what happened in the 3 above mentioned countries. First a freeze, then confluently followed by the crash. Note that I have not expressed any opinion here as to whether MMM has crash/will crash/live forever/etc. I have only considered the 2 possible outcomes. MMM will re-open on January 14th versus MMM will crash before January 14th. MMM supporters, please take note before attempting to crucify me. Regards. |

@op. Put in 100% in the farming. Avoid like a plague the common pitfall that you can keep your job on the side and at the same time succeed in this business venture as this is the slowest way to failure. |
webdezzi: it will work, GTPay, DiamondPay, webpay, zenith global pay, all do thisI just looked at the GTPay website. It looks interesting, but are they hiding the API for their platform, or will that be available only after sending the form? |
adexsimply: No sir, It'll never "pay off".As a matter of fact, it does. One immediate way is the savings on all those developers. Also many other ideas become realizable from the new found knowledge. |
adexsimply: Bros, what are you talking about? Voguepay, GTpay and other online payment gateway work perfectly in Nigeria! That is why I mentioned earlier that there are some respectable payment gateways in Nigeria. |
Afam4eva: I don't disagree with your point that PHP is easier and that's the reason i have stuck with it but i just wanted to know what angle you were coming from. You mean experience-wise? |
Phder: A novice would do well by hiring a developer if he/she really wants to build the app from scratch. Unless the idea is a billion dollar idea, I see no reason why he shouldn't make do with already existing CMS, saving time and money at the same time. He could always outsource CMS editing works to designers and developer, if he's tech savvy and not on deadline he can learn by trying it out himself. It is a matter of how much control that he wants. My philosophy is that one is better off building from scratch(assuming that he is capable). In the long run it always pays off. Trust me. |
Afam4eva: The same can be done for other web scripting lnagues eg PHP, Pearl, Python, ASP.net, JSP etc. I think you're referring to programming languages such as C, Jaca, C++ etcTrue, but considerably more overhead is required to do this. I mean how much simpler can you get: <?php echo "xxxx"; ?> |
Phder: Building a web app goes beyond the knowledge of a scripting language (PHP or python e.t.c.); that's where web development framework (CherryPy, Django e.t.c.) comes in, I guess that's OP's question.I am aware of this, but we are speculating on what would be the best approach for someone who is not a developer. |
Afam4eva: How?Well for one, you can embed a php code anywhere in an html document. Also, it was designed specifically for that purpose where other languages are more general purpose. |
Afam4eva: The OP asked for a CMS and not a payment platform. When he gets to that bridge, he'll cross it.Perhaps I misunderstood the original question, I thought that he was asking about an e-commerce store. At any rate I suppose that just working a CMS is ok, as long as he is investing enough time in working out how to integrate a payment platform. It is always a sad affair to spend much time writing code only to go back later, scrap and re-write. |
Afam4eva: PHP is also a programming/scripting language like Pearl.Yes, but it is much easier to build(online apps) from scratch with PHP |
Afam4eva: How do you mean "They cannot work here"? Every platform and programming language can work anywhere.I am assuming that the op would be collecting online payments, which probably wouldn't work in Nigeria. The other parts of the system will be fine though. |
Afam4eva: You're comparing apples with oranges. Pretashop and Magento are ecommerce plaforms that have already been designed. All you have to do is to make some changes to be in tune with what you want. On the other hand, python is a programming language that you can use to create an ecommerce store from scratch. In that case, PHP would be the way to go. |
Most of the platforms being named here probably will not work in Nigeria(or maybe you are based abroad?). Otherwise you may have to build your e-store manually. There are some respectable online payment processors in Nigeria that you can use. |
touch4mony: u dont have to wish ur fellow man evil @ op,if u are not informed ur deformed so try and b informed.AMCON injected 16billion into capital oil and gas with 3 man team to over see there investment so they can all recover their money too.capital oil and gas is worth over 250billion dollars so op pls get ur facts rightYour numbers don't make any sense.
