We live in a 4 dimensional universe. The metric that describes a 4 dimensional universe is: g_{uv}dx^u dx^v = ds^2 where u, v goes from 0 to 3. The index 0 is usually taken as time. Although time is often regarded as special and distinct from the 3 space dimensions, in the theory of relativity, this distinction does not exist and space and time can be rotated into each other analogously to how the x dimension can be rotated into the y dimension and the y dimension can be rotated into the x dimension in the usual euclidean space. In general relativity, such rotations are referred to as local lorentz transformations. |
I thought that I should add a few more points that the op missed: Men have higher IQ's than women. About 1/3 standard deviation difference Men have larger brains that women even after accounting for body size. Women have thicker skulls than men. Female skulls are about 7.6mm thick while male skulls are about 6.5mm thick |
ebamma: Still on the matter the price of garri remains the sameI don't mean to spoil show here but there may be some connection with the price of garri here as follows: 1) people use money that they can save up to do beta thing and patronize onye njakili 2) onye njakili use his over valued position to buy big motor. 3) Over valued comodity is also known as arbitrage in financial economics. Arbitrage is never good for the ecomomy because it makes it more volatile: Now with regard to the matter on the affect of garri price 4)Money that could be spent buying garri is spent on frivolous overvalued onye njakili, 5) Price of garri drop because of artificial drop in demand. But as it is well known, there is constant demand for garri. 6) Drop in garri price kills biz for some garri hawkers. They get out of the biz therefore less competition. 7) Patronizers of onye njakili remember that garri is more important than onye njakili, they need to buy garri, but now there is less competition among seller and so they raise the price. Conclusion: New BMW of onye njakili affect price of garri and also hurt the poor man because he don chop money for onye njakili and make price of garri go up. ![]() |
Such wholesale ban on such an integral element of the Lagos economy with what seems to be no regard of consequence is a betrayal of the man's stupidity. For example, no okada == more time wasted in traffic =decreased productivity = less goods per naira. Just one of **very** many effects. |
This sounds like mostly hype. The simplest arrangement of falling bodies that take drag into account would be a reasonably large body with flat surfaces, then your standard k*v^2 is ok. To know if this so called breakthrough is worthy of celebration we need to know what are his assumptions about the falling body. Does his "analytical solution" apply to arbitrary bodies?(Probably no solution possible) Even for everyday boring shaped bodies, solving for tragectories would involve an account consisting of many coupled nonlinear pde's. I don't think that this news deserves the killing of cow. |
All Hail innoson. All Hail ndi Anambra. My own go soon pass that one though |
Beaf: The African is the Africans worst problem.Africans do not have a lower IQ. In fact, the unusually harsh african environment probably biases africans to a higher IQ. I have my reasons for believing so. I believe that the reason that Africans appear "backwards" is because of the harsh african environment. Europeans benefitted from very long, old cultural heritage(most of their knowledge/inventions are actually not european in origin). This is a result of more lenient european environment which thus enabled free flow of information/ideas. The other reason why europe is the way it is (western europe mostly) is the bubonic plague. One will almost never see this as cited as a reason for the advancement of western europe but most historians agree that this is the main reason why western europe look different from eastern europe. In fact, before the 1200's, 1300's europe did not look much different from africa. |
We nerds know more about women than women know about themselves |
Congrats to all the winners. |
It may be that you misjudged her character before you married her. It happens. My advice, monitor her closely from now on, you may need to start thinking of taking a second wife(assuming that you have the financial capacity to support a polygamous family) but by all(any) means condition your decisions to avoid having to sacrifice too much of your values and future aspirations. When these kind of people want to bleed a man dry, it usually starts with little sips like this. Today, tattoo, tomorrow boyfriend. |
One needs to be very good in maths to be good in computer science, but not nearly so much to be a good programmer |
gi na chi ka akalaka di n'aka! |
You need to be from benue culture to understand the true meaning of the name. To tell you the truth, "meat of the ancestors" does not sound much more alarming as Osunkwo or Osuani, Ogbunike or even "lamb of god" for the benefit of those who now give credit to only those things that are fabricated by the white man. |
emmatok:By these comments I come to 2 conclusions, you are either very young or you are very naive for your age. I can still have children if I want?? What kind of a man will knowingly bear children out of wedlock? Do you not feel that somehow your position is fundamentally flawed, even though you cannot understand why? Do you think that the large number of man-lover-man degenerates that populate the western world is not somehow connected with an increase in the number of single mothers? If the fear of jail puts a man off from exacting discipline in his own house then such a man is a coward. |
If situations have devolved to the point that a woman is slapping/beating you and you come here to complain then you are not a real man!! Women are like children, they need to be taught how to behave. If you remove discipline from the rearing of children, then those children will grow up to be animals. If you remove discipline from the training of women, then those women will destroy your family. Sometimes a man must be physical and you will be surprised at how far a swift backhand to the face can cure belligerence. When I am confronted by people who insist that a man must not raise his hand at a woman, I often reply that we do not live in the garden of Eden and sometimes one must do what is necessary for the greater good. |
High_Chief:How will good children be raised without marriage? Marriage is as important as in the days of our forefathers, in fact, it may even be more important today, given the moral decadence today and the increasing pressures from rubbish western culture. Also like it was in the days of our forefathers, one should be careful when choosing a wife. You are supposed to do research on the girl/family in case she uset to be akwula/ashawo, among other things. |

tunnytox:Well if you lived in the U.S and the high school that you attended was a vocational school where students were taught; carpentry, pottery, fashion design, cosmetology, medical assistant, auto mechanics, auto body works etc. and ended up studying nursing for three years you can't sincerely position yourself as an authority on Nigerian education unless your are a particularly simple somebody so no, I still don't agree with you!! I am a product of the Nigerian education system when it worked the way that it was designed to work and I believe in it. Even today where we do have problems in the system, it is still functional and not a complete failure as some would have us believe. Vocational education belongs in a secondary school only as an introductory level just like all other disciplines and indeed that is the way it is done in most parts of the world, including in Nigeria. As children grow, their natural intelligence/aptitudes become more pronounced, for example a child that was mathematically gifted may end up becoming weak in the subject so education at the secondary school level needs to be a sampling of as many fields as possible mostly at the introductory level. There is no point in teaching only advanced maths/engineering in secondary school when at least 98% of those that you are teaching will not use what you are teaching for anything. The same idea applies to vocational education. If there is no vocational education in Nigeria, then where did all the electricians, mechanics e.t.c that we have no short supply of in Nigeria learn their trade given that they did not school in U.S where they have vocational education but not in "nonsense Nigeria". I hope that I have been able to make things clearer for you. |
razznaija:Vocational education is already well integrated in Nigerian education system so no, I do not agree with you. |
texazzpete:You need to have actually conceptualized, designed/developed, debugged and then marketed a product to realize that your statement is totally false. For starters, this product if successfully developed will be one of its kind in the world and that almost always means success. As for your objections to the amount of time/coding, I will have you know that all novel projects, even those that seem most trivial take a great deal of time to develop, the rewards come in the later versions, births of the initial investment in time/effort where new products are just modifications/additions to your original produt. I myself think that the idea is very good and it will be successful if it is launched |
engineerd:Impressive. It is like I breath analog design. I agree that is a lucrative field, given that so few EE's are good at analog design. Only problem is that it is hard to consolidate business where IC design is main product, so most of us have to settle with discrete components and import IC from |
engineerd:How about ordinary circuits designer. I build and sell a variety of electronics that are devoted to energy systems(inverters, charge controllers). I also do some freelance contract stuff. Do you design intergrated circuits? VHDL? VLSI? engineerd:Actually I am working on something similar. A utility system that is very similar to sql but the interface is entirely in Igbo language. I don't intend to sell these but I expect lots of return$$$ from this project |
I am working on a utility software that should earn billions for me if my suspicions/expectations are correct. Think of if as the nigerian version of SQL |
bmaninbama:Da-alu maka ihe nile i' meelu anyi. Anyi ga na cheta kwaa gi. La-a nke oma. Da-alu maka enye'm aka gi. |
Geeky:Maybe you are simply not competitive when compared to your fellow programmers. Programming skills is in very high demand in Nigeria today and it is very easy and rewarding for one with real programming skills to be self employed in this country. Most of the guys that did CS are either working for a company developing code or are self employed **developing code**, mostly database management software. IT training helps but is really not necessary for success as a programmer. So when you tell us that the extent of your ability is website design "to an extent", despite your degree in computer science, I can only infer that you are just not competitive, then again I could be wrong but you would have to show us some of the other things that you have done that is more worthy than website design. Maybe you should reduce your expectations a bit, like somebody mentioned here don't go for 500k jobs but rather settle for 30k-50k jobs and as you learn more about the industry, maybe you can advance. Just my thoughts. |
davidylan:I have to disagree on this. I went to school in U.S I have to say that GPA is no longer important, and in fact this is the opinion of most of my professors there. They say that GPA today is inflated and that it is now common to see half baked mediocre students coming out with unbelievable GPA. I think that there used to be a time in the past (in the U.S.A) when GPA was important because it correlated closely with academic ability but this is simply not the case today. I cannot say much about the rest of the western world but some friends that I know that schooled in the UK tell me that the situation is even worse. On of the examples that they give me is the case of Law school where they had to develop aptitude test to screen law school applicants because they got tired of seeing first class people with poor ability to think like a lawyer |
omo_to_dun:Actually I consider myself unbeatable in analysis of algorithm and analytical ability in general. My use of the phrase "even though" was caused because I thought that you were distinguishing between "being a software guru" and "being good at analysis". If you say that this is not so, then I stand corrected and this dialog is no longer necessary. |
omo_to_dun:I disagree with this. Most of the boys that I studied with are excellent programmers. I enjoy developing software even though my background is Physics/Math/Elect. Eng |
I wish that those who know nothing about ndi Igbo to gbachite onu, ka ha we nwelu ike i muta ihe. |
Primary school homework!! Such an insult to my IQ. |
