I am obliged to give a summary of my experience with Nnacent. It was a very pleasant one.
On this faithful day, I put on my Samsung LED TV and all of a sudden the picture went off and I could only hear the sound, initially I thought it would fix itself, but after staying for about a week without a TV I decided to search Nairaland, that is when I came across this thread, I immediately put a call through to Nnacent, he asked me a few questions to troubleshoot the problem and he was able to pin point the problem.
The next thing I did was to send him the model number on whatsapp and voila in a day my TV was back to normal. he only had to replace the faulty component (Tcon board) after we agreed on price.
What is most impressive about him is that he demonstrated exceptional knowledge of his craft, he also came across as honest and he was business minded.
I will definitely recommend him.
Thanks boss. Im sure u are still enjoying your curve tv. Please jst stick to d precautions i gave. Thanks once again.

There are a number of reasons for power issues on samsung tvs and home-theatres. There is this common misconception that only high voltages are dangerous. The power system unit(PSU) does now welcome both high and low voltages. this can destroy the unit and lead u into expensive repairs.
Power Surge is even more dangerous as it can hardly be observed. Sometimes it happens when the equipment is not even switched on.
Get a surge protector today and save your PSU.

Typical of my countrymen and women. A guy has given clear reasons why who should at this stage in our lives go beyond celebrating the " Ordinary" and all he gets is "Calm Down Why Are You So Angry" Just because he had a superior argument. Shame On A Nation. While somebody has moved on in time, some are still stucked behind time. SIMPLE! Besides this is not new and very unprofessional. It could cause accident. A traffic warden or police officer in my opinion should be the most "DECOROUS" person we meet as we go out of our houses and back. Where we don have Traffic lights. She earns salary for controlling vehicles and not to entertain motorists.
Mr Ahead, what have u done to those traffic officers who sit helplessly by d street corner watching d traffic grow? in case u lack d knwledge, to bring change, u either praise/reward those doing d job or punish those not doing it. the OP chose to do d former and u that has done none come here to talk thrash. i am annoyed

No. Please teach me personnel management. Very nice of her but please we've passed that level where we celebrate normal work norms. Should I start posting pics and celebrating the doctor that treated me or the teacher that taught me? Those are regular stuff dude. What happens to those then, who go out of their way to do beyond what they're supposed to do? More than what they're paid for? Maybe we'll throw them a festival.
And please make sure u do something about the many others who are paid to do their job but do not do it.
Annoying mindset frm "sidon look and criticize" mofos.

SCREEN ISSUES
Aside issues with power, Screen issues happen to be the most common fault with LCDS LEDS and plasma tvs. Most people reading this will be using at least one of the above mentioned tvs. Hence i take this time to talk about screen issues. Screen issues are said to be d most expensive repair work dat can b carried out on a modern tv. d cost is usually between 65-85% of d cost of the tv. Hence u want to do all to avoid such faults. Faults with screen are in two categories: 1. physical damage 2. Image distortion 1. Physical damage is a case where d screen cracks as a result of unwelcome impact. all such damage are usually not covered under warranty terms. 2. image distortion: this is a case where d image displayed is not d way it should be. It can be in d form of double or multiple images, line(s) on the sreen, colour patches, negative image etc. either of these require d screen be replaced in most cases. Although these symptoms may not necessarily b a screen fault. Physical damage Screen faults can be avoided by carrying ur tvs with great care, trying to avoid children from reaching d screen, proper installation on the wall. The image distortion can be avoided by making sure water or other solvent does not drip on d screen, and u use ur tv with a surge protector.

I'm pretty sure it's the tcon board. I've done some research and compared the pocture from my tv with those posted online. I also opened up the set, dusted it and cleaned all the connectors and replaced it (tcon board) and the set worked for some time then the distorted image came back.

Ur 25k is steep. Samsung charged me the same amount. Also the card isn't up to $100! Talk to me bro so I can get this tv done...

Protection of Samsung TVs and Home theatres.

Every electronic product has its input voltage level, mostly btw. 110-230v. Anything outside this range would damage parts of the equipment. "Nigerian current" as we call it mostly refers to unreliable power. A moment it is normal, d next it goes very high. This account for over 70% of service issues in the workshop. And most of these repairs are not cheap.

To protect our appliances, surge protector is recommended. Although many so-called surge protectors in the market today as nothing but adapters, hence care shud b taken to get a reliable one. A good voltage regulator will as well b of immense benefit.

Some think that UPS protects their electronics....but thats not true for a basic UPS, Except it has an in build regulator or surge protector. UPS is jst to keep some voltage after power goes.

Power problems are the most common faults in this part of the world, hence i advice the above be considered to save you from spending much on repairs.

Some Lagosians are just crazy and there's little or nothing you can do to avoid some ugly situations.
About 8 years ago I got an employment with a financial institution in Marina. I bought a HP smart phone back then, and this phone took about half of my salary.
I hunged the phone below my belt and set out to go home at the close of business one fateful day. It was about 6pm in the evening. When I got to CMS, a guy walked up to me. I initially tot he wanted to say something meaningful. He grabbed my left leg and said" abi make dem carry you go your village" I was angry and I asked he why he did that nonsense and all that. He apologized immidiately and crossed to the other side of the road. I paused for a while to figure out what happened. Lo and behold my phone was gone and my pouch was still firmly locked. That was d first time I payed my dues! How else could I have been careful in Lagos?
Hahahahahahaha! My friend u are absolutely correct. The antics of these guys are simply endless. However one sure way to avoid being a victim is to always "Soji yourself" that is be always contious of ur enviroment. Dont b absent minded at any point. They capitalise on ur being absent minded.

What's the power capacity of 42 inch plasma tv
The power rating is dependent on the model I.e. the year of manufacture. Older models consume as much as 200W but later models like the "H" series now consume as low as 150W(power consumed by two 60w bulbs and a 30w). The bigger the screen size the more the power consumption.

Samsung is a leader in the electronics and
household appliance market. It accounts for close
to 60% of gadgets in peoples houses in Europe
and Africa.
Today I want to talk about the difference between
LCDs, LEDs and Plasma TVs
LCDs(Liquid crystal displays) use fluorescent
lights as illumination to the images on the screen.
The fluorescent lights in an LCD TV are always
behind the screen. Samsung stopped the
production of LCDs and CRTs( Cathode ray tube
TVs) in 2013.
LED(Light Emitting Diodes) TVs are improvements
on LCDs. they make use of diodes to light up the
screen. LED TVs are slimmer and more easily
available, but also more expensive. Most modern
Tvs are LEDs. Samsung's flagship innovation in
2014 curve tv is LED. some have UHD(ultra high
definition) which gives sharper images. Samsung
LEDs come in 23, 24, 32, 40, 46, 48, 50, 55, 65,
75, and 85 inches
Plasma screen TVs , on the other hand, are
believed to have better picture quality (mostly due
to deeper blacks), but are less energy-efficient
and usually available in larger sizes( For
Samsung from 42inches). Hence if you are given
estimated bills in Nigeria, plasma is cool for you,
but if you use prepaid meters...you may want to
go for the more energy efficient LED. While an LED
screen uses light-emitting diodes as backlights
for the screen, plasma screens light themselves
using gas cells that emit ultraviolet light.
Samsung plasmas come in 42, 43, 50, 51, 60, and
64inches
