Because kids are copy cats. It's their nature, that's y you don't do a bad thing in the presence of a kid. He might see it as a societys way of Iife, remember a child can't take an informed decision.

Politics / Religious Intolerance: A Ticking Time Bomb In Nigeria by NNVanguard(m): 11:10am On Jan 27, 2017
A cursory look into our nationhood, reveals a grave issue which have been treated with kids glove, and which like a ticking time bomb is ready to explode and shatter the 'weak' unity of our nation. This issue have proven itself to be so powerful that our present government have been seen to be handicapped to handle it. This is no other issue, than Religious Intolerance cum fanaticism.

One of the fundamental rights of the Federal Republic of Nigeria citizens as enshrined in our 1999 constitution amended, is this right to freedom of association, clearly written in Section 38(3) that deals with freedom of religion and section 40 that deals with freedom of association. Its expected that no one is allowed to practice his religion and religious beliefs at the expense of another. Be that as it may, recent happenings within the past few years in this nation have raised much dust, that one begins to ask, if some people or religious worshippers are above the law in regards to what the constitution says.

An unbiased research into the two major religions we have in our nation, reveals that both religions preach mutual tolerance, love and peace. However, it leaves one bewildered when some grave crimes and killings are been committed against fellow citizens under the disguise and cloak of religious beliefs and teachings. The two outrageous killings that sparked public outcry last year was the deaths of Mrs Agbahime, a leader in Deeper Life Bible Church and Sister Eunice, an Evangelist of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Northern Nigeria as a result of religious intolerance.

Common sense now asks, who are the perpetrators of these crimes? Is that what their religion teaches? No doubt, the two religious bodies do not condone hatred and outright killings, but when the crime is done, no one tries to get to the root of the matter, not even the government. This action breeds hatred, reprisal attacks, vengeance and great bitterness to the victims of such attacks.

Human life is sacrosanct and no one without the powers of the law should take away the life of another.

Religious leaders should not fan the embers of hatred and bitterness. It behooves on them to be the custodians of the teachings of their Holy Books. They should publicly condemn religious violence, no matter its shades and facades. They should indoctrinate their followers on the tenets of peaceful coexistence, mutualism, love and forgiveness. The ill teachings of religious superiority should be erased from our psyche and religious gatherings. Let everyone worship his own Maker within the ambits of the laws of the FRN and what the Holy Books teaches.

Extremists should b exposed and handed over to the Law Enforcement Agencies and duly prosecuted, with relevant punished meted. No body should be a sacred cow. No religion should be superimposed on anyone. We are Nigerians First before any religious affiliation. Killing in defence of ones 'god' only portrays that 'God' as weak, useless, powerless and vulnerable. No one should defend and kill his fellow man for 'god', rather let the reverse be the case, let God fight for himself.

Until we take the bull by the horns, in leaving no stone unturned, in the fight against religious extremism and fanaticism, we should be prepared for the forthcoming religious tsunami that will shred this nation into pieces.

In the New Nigeria Vanguard, we believe in the individuals right to serve his God and practice his religious beliefs but in tandem with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not to the detriment of other citizens.

To every cause, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

All hell is been let lose against Suleiman but no one wants to know what led to that provocative statement.

If there was no Fulani attacks and massacre of Southern Kaduna, would he have made such comments.

Let's be fair and just in condemnation.ets treat the cause first before the effect.

Ironically, these herdsmen marauders are from Libya, Senegal and Mali, yet we have a military force that can't protect its territorial integrity but will be adept in killing idps and unarmed protesters.

If the youth cannot come together in the spirit of strength and vigour, then I should work my way to become a president. Since it seems we are yet to see the peak of this colossal failure by the old and frailed generation.

Indeed, all men are not born equal in this country, but the New Nigeria Vanguard is out to reverse this ugly trend, where security services is offered to the highest bidder.

Politics / Arms Abuse And Killings Of Innocent Nigerians---a Threat To Our Nationhood by NNVanguard(m): 6:10pm On Jan 24, 2017
Democracy as we all know is a system or a form of government based on the sovereignty of the people, in which citizens have equal say in the decisions that affect their lives. Having the above in mind, Nigeria began it's second sojourn into democracy in May 1999. We are a few months from clocking 18years in this second sojourn of ours, longer than the first by far. But are we truly under the rule of democracy? That's the big question and pardon me to say that the answer to this question is a big NO.

Yes we have had smooth transitions of power amongst different governments led by different individuals unlike some of our African brothers like Libya, Egypt, Cameroon and most recently, The Gambia. But with these governments there have been a persistent issue with the killing of innocent citizens as one of our national problems.

Having in view of what the constitution binding us together says, how else can the masses express their feelings if not through peaceful protests as we have seen in other countries, most recently the U.S.A.

A rally or playcards carrying demonstrations has become a form of expression of views in issues affecting government and the governed in this our sovereign state. We ought to also note that in present day Nigeria, police permit have outlived its usefulness.

We have been witnesses either by seeing, hearing or reading of massive killing of innocent citizens of this country almost on a daily basis; whether this unfortunate victims are protesting, resting or even playing etc is a case for another day.

We remember the professional footballer Joseph Izu of blessed memory killed on account of being a criminal. We remember the killings of IPOB members countless number of times. We also remember the incessant killings of the Shiite religious groups too.

The gravest of all was the latest bombing of the Internally Displaced Persons camp in Rann, Borno state. For Christ sake, the IDP camps are operated by our men in uniform, meaning they know every location of these various camps in Nigeria, yet they wickedly dropped a bomb on innocent people claiming it was a mistake because they got information of boko haram activities in the area.
Its shows incompetency on their part.

We remember the wrong killings of citizens over little arguments by our uniform men and many more we have individually witnessed, often under the guise of accidental discharge.

Fellow Nigerians, it is time we curbed this menace and molestation of the masses, we have a say in how we are governed. We are not some chemical experiments, we are humans,we are citizens,we are Nigerians.!!!

Let's rise up and say NO to these abuse of arms by our uniform men under the watch of our so called democratic government...for the power of democracy lies in the unity of its citizens...

In The New Nigeria Vanguard we believe in the sanctity of life and no man in uniform should gun down another without the backing of the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
#tomorrow's leaders today!

Long Live NNV!!

Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
