Time out ladies, (and gents) I'm sitting here at 3:36am LA time, having "byestfed" my little man, and decided to catch up on whats been going on on the thread... Yes, we have had so many great testimonies, visa issuance, POE successes, live and miraculous births, reduced flight tickets, free additional luggage allowances ...HOWEVER, some cases (shared here) jump out at me and i realise that along with the testimonies, we also have some arrows being shot. I remember recent posts from temyb, Blaize777, Lajoie33. And others i may have missed out (pardon me) I identify with these issues, because i have children. I know the heartbreak i go through when one of them scrapes their toe on a stone and draws blood, not to talk of major matters like this. I remember you all in my prayers this morning. May God honour His Name in all this! Stay blessed! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhxT6d5UYcU "He's Able" (feat. Darwin Hobbs / Voices Of Unity) [Leader:] Exceedingly, Abundantly Above all, all you could ask or think According to, the power That worketh in you, you... God is able to do just what He said He would do He's gonna fulfill every promise to you Don't give up on God, cause He won't give up on you He's able [Chorus x2:] God is able to do just what He said He would do He's gonna fulfill every promise to you Don't give up on God, cause He won't give up on you He's able [x2] [Leader:] Oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh He's able |
For Lajoie33: Sorry i can't write much... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXZsCSjj88E "He Never Fails" [Verse 1:] This is my story This is my song I'll be praising my savior All the day long I'll never worry I'll never fret Because he never failed me yet [Chorus:] He never failed me yet He never fails He never failed me yet He never fails He never failed me yet [Verse 2:] This is my story This is my song I'll be praising my savior All the day long ([Solo:] lift your voice and sing [All:] oh uh oh) How long must you carry this burden On your mind The lord is with you All the time Chorus (Be) With you always (4ce) [All:] Always uh always Lajoie33: |
Thanks dear. And Thank God for safe trip back to the homeland. I hope American baby is coping with the economic situation. ijeomaobi1: |
No worries. Ask away, but be sure to read through the page first so that you can ask all the pertinent questions once. There are 3 nigeria embassy locations. I have personally only used New York twice which is why i attached their link. Not sure how the other locations work, and i do not have their websites. And No, you do not have to go there to drop it if you are far away (e.g, I definitely did not go from LA to New York to drop off) You basically send in your application and receive your passport/visa back by post office packet. If you can carefully read through the embassy page and take notes, you would have very few further questions. Like i've said before, its Very easy to follow and process. I'm not faithfully following the thread right now... Trying to get this little man to latch on and drink his milk... And release me from this torture... So i may not see all the posts and questions Be Blessed! temyb: |
Hi, Check my last post from yesterday i think. I put in a link there for how to obtain Nigerian visa without agents. Costs about $200 for non-expedited, and its a straightforward process. temyb: |
Welcome dear. They can only try, but God still has the key to open the doors. Wish you all the best on the rest of your journey. I hope you sorted accommodation okay? veleta: |
Thanks nne. I appreciate! Trying to rush my docs so i can go home and face my life. Missionary journey not interesting when you're alone and without your loved ones... LadyGuinivere: |
Thats easy. Send a mail and establish a connection. Keep the mail trail flowing while you discuss details of your trip, care, pre-payment options/ or lack thereof, your planned arrival date, appointment booking, etc. If you can follow with calls, do so. In your mails refer to those calls. That way you build up the required "correspondence" Just had my baby with them. Overall a great experience. They are responsive to mails and calls. The doc is very nice and even took time to greet and interact with hubby and older kids when he walked into our skype conversation in the hospital room. All the best. KayLayChi: |
Send a mail to them and they will respond. They responded to me. Not sure what kind of correspondence you need. Is it for visa/ embassy? Discuss your request with them. KayLayChi: |
Has been discussed severally, But will endeavour to put it again so that the search engine can have more hits to help those who use the search engine... Step 1: get birth certificate. The hospital will begin this process for you before your discharge and tell you how to collect. Step 2: Process babys American passport from LA specifically, click here, read through and follow instructions. Easy to follow and process: http://www.travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/information/where-to-apply/agencies/los-angeles.html Step 3: Process baby's Nigerian visa (without using an agent), click here and read throigh. The instructions are very easy to understand and follow: http://www.nigeriahouse.com/VisaApplication.aspx damsell: |
Just when i thought God had already outdone Himself in my life, He's again done yet another miracle! My latest Prince arrived yesterday September 2nd at 8.24pm. I'm unable to write much now. Still busy admiring and getting to know him. Please you all help me worship God with this song: ... You are an awesome wonder No other power compares to You Perfect in all your ways Everyday faithful ever true Oceans applaud You Creation declares your grandeur Here in Your splendor We surrender to the wonder of Your power ... Thanks Loves. |
Its free. You dont pay for that. ijeomaobi1: |
IJ, You don't fix that black base to the stroller oh. You use that only in the car. At check in, they collect the big black base from you at ticketing counter and tag it and send it along with your boxes. You dont need it till you get to Naija. Then you click only the car seat into the stroller and push that through the airport for convenience. You drop stroller and car seat at plane door. Anyway, on a normal day, i just shove the base into the strollers bottom basket if I'm going out with baby (for use in Uber, etc) Hope this helps. ijeomaobi1: |
Wow! Congratulations. Very hilarious birth story... I can imagine the drama... God is indeed faithful. cutie333: |

Herrik066, You're right. WIC is Women Infants and Children program for free food and healthcare for residents only. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a federal assistance program of the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for healthcare and nutrition of low-income pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and infants and children under 5 years. And there are requirements for joining WIC. For any of us to join, we will need to tell some lies, like family income, residency status, etc. Some registration centers are lax in registering members and may not ask for much documentation. BUT the warning given to our brothers and sisters at their visa interviews recently should guide us... We may be "pressured" into accepting state funded assistance (of any kind). LET'S JUST SAY NO. Dear Earlybird81, Pls run in the opposite direction, and explain why to your host. The Best Thing is to hurry up with your journey and return home, in case the pressure of more mouths to feed is bearing down on host and they are unable to tell you explicitly. God's blessings on you! herrik066: |

In the US and From my various experiences: 1- Change of clothes that I will go home in, (including underwear, make up, etc. I also like to take some personal toiletries that i cannot do without, and i know hospital wont give me e,g my Clinique facial wash and toner, face cream) 2- Clothes for baby to go home in. 3- Phones, ipad, ipod, etc including EARPIECE and most importantly CHARGERS! (The hands free earpiece allows me to make and receive calls conveniently when lying down, breastfeeding, pumping milk, etc) 4- My camera because i have one and i always want to use it (I usually pack mine because family/ friends even nurses can use it to take very good pictures of me and baby) 5- My eyeglasses! (I use it for reading and so i don't wear it every minute) 6- Car seat because baby will not be released if they don't see your car seat (your hosts can bring this for you later, but if you're on your own, it makes sense to carry it with you when going) 7- Things to munch on the days after baby (groundnut, cashew, ukwa...) The salty American munchies nor dey gree me at all... valeriechima: |
Actually, in the journey of life, we are all are caught between all kinds of opinions and suggestions and all what not. And we all have within us an intrinsic knowledge of good and evil. Whatever path/ action we choose to gravitate towards is actually a testament to who we really are! Afterall, the person could have chosen to go with the countless testimonies here of how saying the truth got them the visa or the POE success... Rather than the advice of ONE friend who lied to get through. WE MUST LEARN TO CHANGE OUR MINDSET, AND THE TIME IS NOW!! Let's learn to condemn bad things. And let's not be afraid to condemn it as harshly as possible too! On a side note, Don't forget that your American kids may choose to live in the US someday. If we raise them like this (They are watching us and learning, believe it or not!), we are setting them up for trouble when they finally arrive here in their grown up years! Colouredgirl: |
Bro, Did you say youve been following this thread for months now? And you still fell into the"one chance" of not stating your true intentions? Especially when the VO gave you a sweet opportunity to lay your plans bare? Habaaaaaaaaa! #Speechless pizzo20: |
