What Army? Nigeria is just lucky that our neigbours are smaller countries. who wil attack us? togo, benin, cameroun, niger, Equatorial Guinea or Gabon? we can defeat those countries with our police force alone. but if the north africans or RSA invade, nigerian army cant do shit. |

Jakumo: I have already told tpia that he or she is an idiot on this thread for trying to derail it. you know problem with nigerians is that we always ignore the obvious. Every single thing done here must be attached to tribalism. It is because we are not the same people. it wasnt our fault either. Lord Luggard and his bitch wife trapped us here. although we could have avoided that but there is this thing called OIL, Which got deposited to the minor tribe of this giant grave called Nigeria. It turned out to be a curse for them instead of blessing simply because some idiots up north believe there were born to rule. we cant help it. thats why i suggested that you create another thread to address tribalism. commenting about it here wont change anything. dont take this personal, i just dont want the topic to be derailed. plz |

UGHELLI—PRESIDENT of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), Comrade Benedict Oboidhe, has condemned the Federal Government’s plan to upgrade the National College of Petroleum Studies, Kaduna, with the sum of N15 billion. This is contained in a statement signed by Comrade Oboidhe, which was made available to Vanguard in Ughelli, Delta State. The NADESSTU President in the statement said the proposed upgrade of the college and renaming to the Institute for Petroleum Policy and Strategy with the sum of N15 billion would amount to regional sentiments and undue regards for economic policies of locating firms and areas of manpower development close to source of raw materials. It read: “While we want to refute claims by the executive secretary of PTDF in the dailies that over 17 billion Naira has so far been spent to upgrade the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun. We want to call on President Musa Yar’Adua and the Executive Secretary of PTDF to reflect such acclaimed money spent on PTI as a true reflection of the visible infrastructures. “Further, such National College of Petroleum Studies should be relocated to the Niger Delta so that its admission policy should reflect the inhabitants of the Niger Delta for whom the impacts of the activities of oil exploration and exploitation affects, hence the money budgeted for such upgrade should be channeled for further upgrade of PTI and the Federal University for Petroleum Resources Effurun. “We wish to use this medium to call on the South-South governors, senators and stakeholders to seriously mediate in such issue as the effects, if left un-tacked, were enormous in the nearest future, even as those whose areas barely produce a drop of oil mount management positions in the oil industry hook, line and sinker,” it concluded. - vanguard |
